I don’t think anyone is suggesting leaving poop in the bowl for any length of time. That would most definitely be gross.
Wasn't sure I wanted to plant flowers at all this year. Had a $5 off $10 purchase so went to the nursery and found 18 double zinnia plants for $10. So cost for whole area planted was $5. It was WORK and hard on me to mulch and plant but they look very nice. DH checks them every day. I think he should be the gardner since he enjoys it more than me???
I’ve started a new extreme activity. It’s a result of being an unalert consumer. About once a year or so we buy a mega pack of paper towels at Costco. Normally we get the ‘select-a-size’ ones that have twice as many perforations, so they last longer since many times a small half sheet is plenty. But I wasn’t paying attention and bought the regular ones. Now, since the scissors are in the drawer next to the paper towel dispenser I’ve been dutifully cutting them in half whenever I use one. SO won’t bother doing that and would probably laugh if he noticed me doing it but since I’m the one who does most cooking and works from home I’m the main paper towel user in our house.
Cutting your paper towels in half is extreme, I agree. But the thing is, I don’t use paper towels often, use them veeeeeeery seldom, probably 3 or 4 times a year. When I use them they’re used for wiping grease out of a cooking utensil, although lately I’ve been using an excess of the plastic bags we get at the grocery store For that task. I’ve also use them in past times for animal vomit and animal poops, especially really horrific messy ones. I will say that one can use an entire half roll of paper towels on a day when a dog has bad diarrhea.
however, I find them here in DH’s shop areas because he does use them But not for household and food preparation.
I only use paper towels for gross things like cat vomit. One roll lasts well over a year. I guess its extreme but I use rags that are laundered for most other things.
That’s what I do. For years I had a regular weekly load of what I called “dog laundry “that included fabric stuff with urine, and cloths that had wiped up vomit and slobber, etc. The dog laundry was washed separately from our own clothes, and in hot water.
But currently we have no cats and one very clean dog. I haven’t done “dog laundry” in more than a year.
I don't use a ton of them. But I do use one per day to dry my dental night guard every morning after cleaning it, and 12-14 per week as napkins for non-dinner meals. I also use them when I wash my glasses and for cleaning up cat yack. Any other use is incidental and infrequent.
Wash and reuse plastic zip lock bags.
