I'm trying to figure out how "No, I really don't want us to invite anyone over this afternoon. I need some time to myself and some peace and quiet. Please do not tell anyone they can come over here" translated into us inviting someone over this afternoon. What is unclear about the above statement?
What part of "please don't fill the washer so full?" is so impossible to understand (for an adult male)? We now are going to have to buy a new washer, because one person who lives in this house overfilled the washer, the basket broke, and the motor burned out. Though it is kind of fun looking at the ads, and even considering a front loader. They have come down in price since they first came out, and I think it would be good for us, since we do a lot of laundry.
Jemima. I love the sounds of your Coca-Cola clock! Could it be repaired (low cost)?
Stella. One thing I've gotten a lot better at (account getting older), is saying "no", and, turning down invitations/guests. The stress reduction of being able to do such has been exponential.
Domestic Goddess. Overloading (anything appliance related) is a major pet peeve of mine! The old saying, "more isn't better" applies to this one so well.
Dogs sleeping on the floor decide to get up as I am stepping over them causing me to go sprawling on the floor or into a wall resulting in numerous scrapes, bruises and sometimes a bloody nose.
Ouch! Best wishes for healing, goldensmom! Those dogs sometimes just don't know the havoc they can cause. Hope you're feeling better soon!
No matter how many times I tell my son to pick up his tiny Lego pieces off the floor, he doesn't. Then I step on them in the middle of the night on my way to the bathroom. That really hurts!
Thanks. I'm sore but on the mend. After tripping me and causing the bloody nose, while I was on the floor my 90# Golden Retriever got on top of me and tried to lick the bloody nose. I yelled to my husband for help and he wanted to know which dog I tripped over........ 'pardon me but I'm hurt here'. This is the 7th time something like this has happened and I just can't learn to not step over a dog lying on the floor.Quote:

My pet peeve of the day is that I hate when people at the grocery store have to examine every green bean or whatever else before putting it in the bag or in their cart while other people are trying to purchase the same stuff. They're oblivious. I recently had whole beef tenderloin on my shopping list because it was on sale for $4 a pound. When I got to the meat case a guy and his wife were looking at them. I waited, and waited, and finally did another aisle of shopping. Came back and they were still there. Waited some more. Did two more aisles, they were still there. They took each and every tenderloin out of the case one by one and examined them intently. There were about 15 of them. What I don't get was these are untrimmed vacuum packed pieces of meat that are then folded over and put on a mean tray and then wrapped in cling wrapped and labled. I can't fathom what they were looking for. You can't really see most of whats in the package.
