Sending good thoughts your way!
Planning on it. A retired friend from church is taking me tomorrow and getting me home, too. My apartment is clean, bedding all freshly washed, dishes all done tonight, and all clothes in the dryer. I’ve got easy food, plenty to read, and I’m going to be lazy.
Wishing you good results, Tradd.
Home. Tired and groggy. Wonderful friend not only drove me, but also made me some soup - chicken broth with carrots, celery, and small pasta, plus some bread rolls. Waiting for Walgreens to take their good old slow time to finish my Rx so she can pick them up.
Doc cleaned me all out and removed a few polyps.
Glad your friend is there for you! Rest and relax. Enjoy those books and get well soon!
I’m feeling pretty good. I hurt a wee bit (crampy), but that’s it. Heating pad and Motrin did the trick. I’m ignoring the stronger stuff doc prescribed. I don’t need it. Waiting on biopsy results.
Waiting is the hardest.
Late on this, Tradd. Hope you feel 100% soon and sending positive thoughts for good biopsy results!
Waiting is the worst! Hang in there and take it easy.
I’m not that worried about the cancer diagnosis. Doc previously said she wasn’t that worried, but it had to be checked out due to the very slight bleeding episode, plus the thick uterine lining. I’m doing very well, just some mild cramping. Hair appt today that couldn’t reschedule. Not sure if I’ll be going to church tomorrow.
Biopsy results from last Thursday’s procedure are NEGATIVE! Yay! Happy Snoopy dance time!!
Great news!
Wonderful news, Tradd! Congrats!
That's great. A huge item off the worry table.
Yes! Wonderful news, Tradd!
So happy for you, Tradd!
I was having an interesting discussion elsewhere about the size of TEMPORARY emergency fund while paying off debt. DR has recommended $1K for decades. Given the current inflation that is not going down, I think MORE than $1K is better, if you can swing it. The temporary emergency fund is supposed to take care of emergencies so you don't put it on a cc. There are too many things that can cost a lot more than that $1K emergency fund. I had $4300, but since I've had a lot of medical bills due to my surgery, I've taken $1K and thrown that at cc.
I had always heard have 6 months of funds available for emergencies. Can be pure savings, CDs, accessible credit cards (but they have to be repaid consitently), etc. Could be total job loss, serious medical issue or accident, major unpredicatable expese, etc. We have never been in a situation of need but we always talked about the what if's.
I know the thinking that he is using, but personally I would feel better, even with debt, with a larger temporary emergency fund, so that I wouldn't have to put as much on credit cards. Personally, I would try for an ef of $10,000 if I were you--I think when we were getting out of debt I worked on the ef like it was a debt until I had $5000 in there and then when out of debt keep it at $10,000, separate and apart from the six months thing.
Yeah, $5Kish is what I’m aiming for.
Doc has cleared me to dive. Yay!
Great news, Tradd!
Great news, Tradd!
Dave Ramsey did a really interesting about 2 hour interview with Tucker Carlson a few days ago. Forget about the politics crap, this was really good. DR talked about Americans being debt slaves, etc. You can find it on Apple Podcasts or here is the YT video.
https://youtu.be/KwZG7QlfVe8
I will listen to that. Dave has been doing interviews recently. He did his Trumpy interview. He did an interview with Ben Shapiro. Ramsey’s operation and Shapiro‘s operation both work out of the Nashville area. In fact, had I known that when I went to Franklin, Kentucky (where the Ramsey studio is) last year I would’ve stayed over a day to be in their studio audience,
Most people are not gonna believe this when I say that I didn’t know what Tucker Carlson looks like until he left Fox.
See, I never watch news TV. Now that Carlson is off Fox he does podcasts and interviews and etc., and those are showing up on my YouTube feed, not I’ve listened to any of his stuff.
Don’t know about the Trump or Shapiro interviews. Will have to look for those.
Cancelled my Apple credit card. No balance. Want using it anyway. Don’t care about the hit credit score will take. I still have the Chase card I’ve had for ages.
I just said eff it and threw $3900 from savings onto cc. I hope to have it paid off by end of year.
Way to go!!
That's wonderful, Tradd!
Good jon, Tradd.
