We are putting out our trash for pickup a day later than usual, and we are not going to the mailbox to get our mail.
Dh actually mentioned a vendor fair in honor of Juneteenth, but it is actually being held tomorrow. We may go to that and see what there is to see.
Contemplating our world and the places of differing peoples within it, I hope to do my (admittedly very small) part at bringing equity by treating all people as fairly and kindly as I would like to be treated. I try to use the Golden Rule as my mantra, and I strive for grace and dignity in my interactions with others - although I often fall far short. Very very short.:|( Days like today are good reminders to me to keep working on that.
Juneteenth is NOT about" sitting around doing nothing and getting high" or a non-Black person try to emulate their idea of Black speech.
THIS is what the holiday is about:
" a holiday celebrated on June 19 to commemorate the emancipation of enslaved people in the US. The holiday was first celebrated in Texas, where on that date in 1865, in the aftermath of the Civil War, enslaved people were declared free under the terms of the 1862 Emancipation Proclamation."
Your contempt for the holiday says much about you. And none of it is flattering.
okay---guess what? that "Emancipation Proclamation" did not apply to Zurra, at the time. (see photo) OR the Biden state. so yeah, stop bullying littlebittymee. Thankk mee. Attachment 6396
yeah but---you seem to be one of what i refer to as a: "crusader for keyboard equality". and until you cease and desist bullying me in the name of feeling good about yourself, I shall respond to your attacks as "My Dear UNhappy Hiker." Deal?
Sure. Call me what you want as long as I don't have to read any more racist comments. They DO make me Unhappy Hiker. It's more than keyboard equality--it's respect for our brother and sister humans on this fragile little planet of ours. Unnecessary and cruel. Shall we call it "keyboard inequality"??
but yeah----i feel that my cultural appropriation was VERY appropriate, not RAYCISS! did I advocate burning a cross or displaying nooses? No. But yeah--ebonics. it wuz the least I could do ta observe junteenth.
okay---can anya you kids who are wiser and more worldly make some sense of this recent news event after the Juneteenth holiday?(see photo) But yeah---i'm 'fraid i might issue a rather judgy comment, such as: TNB, which probably wouldn't be appropriate. Well, would it? Attachment 6411
