Some of you may know this story already but it was new to me and it is a sweet story.
    Enjoy!

That's a sweet story for sure, and further proof that all kinds of unlikely combinations of animals can be friends.

    Oh my
If you want something to get done, ask a busy person. If you want them to have a nervous breakdown that is.

A very sweet story, but the cruelty of their earlier years is pretty horrifying.

    Rescue stories are always bittersweet.
I hate to think of all the souls who aren't rescued.

It's astonishing to me the cruelty some human beings inflict on other living beings.

I know! I remember seeing just the trailer for the movie Earthlings, and it made me want to pull my brain out, douse it with gasoline and set it on fire to get the pictures out of my head. I cannot imagine actually watching the movie.
Many years ago, someone had set a kitten on fire in a nearby city and thrown it through a window. I was so horrified, thinking about how we cherish our boys and do whatever we can to give them good lives. It would be all to easy to conclude that people suck, but it's not that simple. A short time later I read about a man who was badly burned from going into a burning building to save a pet. The worst and the best of humanity right there.
