Tybee: That's great! I have a broken clock that I really like. It's quite pretty, so it just sits on a shelf being right twice a day as they say, lol.

We have broken and non working clocks stored all over the place including 2 floor clocks because…we are Swiss! We hoard Swiss stuff! We hoard cow bells and Mountain boy tchotchkes and even have (had? ) leiderhosen. It is DH’s obsession.
Tybee that is nice to actually fix and use something you like.

Nice, Tybee! Love it when a fix is easy and effective.

I made a mistake in the tire place I went to. Replaced the original tires at 45,000 miles and got ones that are supposed to be good for 60,000 miles. At 15,000 miles half the tread is gone and I am told:
1. I was supposed to purchase a second protection plan they never told me about for roadside damage although I have none.
2. Absent that I must submit a warranty claim to the manufacturer myself rather than the tire shop doing it for me.
3. The warranty is not valid if the tires aren't rotated, but one of my rotations is in the computer as a flat repair. The manager acknowledges that a since fired employee messed up and said he will try to fix this via his corporate office.
4. The warranty if honored after all this rigamarole will be prorated.
Avoid Tire Warehouse and Goodyear!
Yppej, that’s just cheating people!! Leave them lots of bad reviews online if they don’t fix this problem.
Tire store contacted via email so I have things in writing - no response. Two reviews left - no response. Better Business Bureau will be next.
BBB website is down so I filed a complaint with the state attorney general's consumer protection division instead.
There are so many caveats with tire warranties that I am reading they are useless. Nonetheless after the dealer didn't respond got a code from the manufacturer for a tire assessment I will use the next time I go for a rotation.
Sprayed the exterior of the house with ant barrier rather than hiring an exterminator as I did in the past for carpenter ants. Cut down ferns growing alongside the house that the ants may use as a path to get into the house. Will see if this works and if not try more DIY steps.
I had a tire warranty from Discount Tire and they honored it and replaced my tire for free recently.
There are a few companies that stand behind their products. I contacted Olfa to ask a question on whether their rotary cutter could be fixed. They asked for a picture to show the model and then immediately sent me a new one. I now have four of them but that is ok. It was just such a great experience.
