    Film shot in Hermann

    https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=KfWs1L...ludGFnZQ%3D%3D

if you have Amazon Prime, this new film dropped today and you can watch it with ads.

I watched the first minute of it and everything is shot in Hermann, my hometown. It’s has a cute German village feel, and the plot revolves around wine.

The film plays this week in our tiny local movie theater, but I will probably just watch it on Amazon so I can fast forward through the inevitable treacly parts of this Hallmark- like production. Do not ask me to comment on the quality of the production, other than the visuals, which will be very very nice.

I watched the link--it looks like a cute rom-com movie, and from what I can see of the town, it is the type of small town that I am definitely attracted to!

We accidentally drove thru Hermann once. It is a cute town, for sure! Stopped at place called Ricky's Candy Box. (That stuck in my head because I have a cousin named Ricky and the thought of him running a candy store is really really funny.) It's fun to watch movies that have been at least partially filmed in places I know, or have visited. I try to visit filming locations of favorite shows if I happen to be in the area. Thanks for the info, IL!

Ricky’s Chocolate Box is still operating. That owner has long hours. I always buy from his store when I have people here for lunch or dinner, and I include his business card on the dessert plate so that my out-of-town guests can stop at his store on their way home.

Okay---Every body has heard of the littlebitty burg of Herrmann, as yeah---it is the hometown of John Honeck, who held the distinction of longest-incarcerated prison inmate! Something like 64 years! And lived another 15 after his release. Something to be proud of. But yeah, Faux---maybe you could see to it they erect a monument to Mr Honeck in a city park, and have a "John Honeck Festival" every year. Yup.
