Yes, she was, Iris, and thank you to all of you for your condolences.

It's so strange here today without her. I keep listening for her, watching, forgetting momentarily she's not here anymore. It's remarkable what a disruption in the pattern of living the loss of a pet is. They really keep us on a routine, and now it just seems "off."

    I miss her.
My therapist told me the way to achieve true inner peace is to finish what I start. So far today, I have finished two bags of M&Ms and a chocolate cake. I feel better already!

I am sorry to crash the cat site with a picture of a dog, but I've always loved this picture of my daughter with her dog and I can't resist posting.

I love looking at pet photos. Isn't that why the internet was invented? So I am finally getting around to uploading pics of Louie (orange and white) and Raymond (dark tabby). I just love Louie's yoga moves.

our orange and white cat is a tiny Persian, less than 5 pounds. She is the best cat in the world! She was born in Germany and ended up in Persian cat rescue at age 7. Most Persian cats are bigger, some much bigger.

our brown tabby cat is an American Shorthair, i.e, regular cat, who happens to be “ purebred” whatever that means. But 90% of street cats are American Shorthairs, so it has little meaning.

Okay---One way to combat the inevitable grief of pet loss is the multi-pet household, with cats of varying ages. I see people who can't cope with a new pet because one they have doesn't "like" the new one. Some people have high expecting of a VERY orderly life. But yeah--get together a cat family, and get used to it.
