Poor Cornell West, the brother has no money

He is half a million dollars in debt to the Federal government for back taxes. What a jerk.

I don’t mind that he is a womanizer, that doesn’t affect me or society at large. But the back taxes! The hypocrisy of earning so much and he cries poor! The utterly ridiculous reasons he offers for his poverty which include the millstone around his neck of student loans.

The guy is an old man and has had plenty of time and money to pay his “student loans.”

Reminds me of the couple recently featured in Ramit Sathi’s podcast who brought in $300,000 annually but did not pay on their student loans. That mindset, embraced by Cornell West and his ilk that student loans are an impossible burden, is yet another from Joe Biden’s leadership to poison our society.

Yesh, that article disappoints me. I really like him and his thinking, but I question his ability to lead a country if he can't keep his personal finances straight.

he is one of those academics who did important work early in his career. His subsequent fame and fortune sunk him.

Some of the jobs I’ve held included a credit check and other financial info as part of the hiring process. It never seemed too intrusive to me for the functions I was signing up for.

I don’t think it’s OK that Joe Biden attempted an unconstitutional act to overturn statute about student loans. The Supreme Court court stopped him.

If President Biden had had his way, old man West wouldn’t have to pay his decades-old debt but I’m sure he would’ve found something else to whine about.

I'm thinking Jill Stein will be the way to go if I go third party, but she isn't holding events so I can go ask her question(s).

I can’t believe I’m going to say this:

As someone who voted third-party in the last two elections, I would urge you both to think twice about that. I think Donald Trump is a big enough threat that I will most likely be voting for whoever is on the Democratic ticket even if it’s comatose
Daddy Joe and the unpopular K. Harris.

yes, the choices suck, they absolutely suck.

Luckily, I live in a state that the Democratic candidate will win by a significant measure, so I can feel free to vote for the best person. If there is one.

I would enjoy it if we moved to a ranked-choice voting system however.
