I ended up watching. BBC website. Biden is not coming across well at all. Feeble voice. Didn’t catch any huge gaffes like he’s known for, but he’s just having a hard time talking. Trump, as crazy as he is, comes across much more lively and “there.”

Deer in the headlights is a good way to describe Biden.

    First break is just ending.

If you ignore the fact that trump literally doesn’t answer any of the questions and then just makes up lie after lie I suppose one might think he was doing a good job.

Yeah, Trump was asked about childcare and he’s rambling about other stuff.

I didn’t say he was doing a good job. Forget about what he’s saying. He’s more alert and has an easier time speaking than Biden.

However, Biden is considerably more lively right now.

I watched as long as I could and then took a walk. Biden has the whisper of a Parkinson's patient so I hope that's not whats going on. He has definitely gone south since the last time I saw him speak.

In my opinion, Trump was Trump and Biden was a doddering old man. I suspect the Dems will be actively working to replace him based upon his performance tonight.

At the end of the day I'd rather have a president who struggles with a lifelong stutter and is aging but surrounds himself with competent advisors than I would a president that doesn't answer a single question, including the most important one. Trump couldn't even answer that because we all know that at the end of the day he won't accept election results that tell him that, yet again, he's a big fat ugly loser. His fragile ego simply won't allow him to admit that his life has been a failure.

What a sad, sad debate. I feel very bad for Biden's family in that they are going to have to face the repercussions of such a poor performance which may actually include Biden having to decide to back down.

And as Alan said, Trump was Trump.

    Sad.

Democrats deserve every damn thing they get for putting him up and keeping him. There’s any number of reasonable, not nearly dead politicians that could step in. At this point I would even celebrate Kamila.

The hubris of Joe Biden in thinking he can campaign and go for more years! It makes him look as though his ego is bigger than Donald Trump’s.

well, my conscious is clean. The only political donation I’ve made this year is to the guy who ran against Joe Biden on the Democratic ticket.

I suppose one’s perspective on who won depends on whether one was at all concerned about who stated facts vs who ‘looked forceful’ regardless of what they said. At the end of the day we may well deserve an idiot leader who is a liar, won’t answer questions and hates American democracy. Time will tell.

    That was painful.

    Biden did not deliver.

Trump held it together and did not become too terribly deranged.

I watched "Triumph of the Will" afterwards, and completed my UK permanent residency paperwork.

    Good luck, y'all.
