A brilliant comparison, and accurate to boot!

I used that line on some thirtysomething nephews and nieces, and all I got were blank stares.

    Maybe substitute Milli Vanilli?

Still a couple of years before they were born.

My dose of the third convention was Bill Clinton. He hasn't lost his ability to kiss the Blarney Stone with age. Not exactly an orator, but a talent for communication. He was speaking from hard copy notes on paper which is pretty old school these days. He did run over a bit. One of the commentators said a favorite part of one of his older talks was when he said, "In conclusion..." I had to turn it off when Pelosi came on.

I agree with your assessment, Rogar. Some of the convention was boring, but a good bit of it was very entertaining and even inspiring. I missed a couple of speeches I'm going to catch today--Josh Shapiro and Pete Buttegieg, but I loved Amanda Gorman, Oprah, Hakeem Jeffries, and Tim Walz. I really thought Oprah's speech was super.

I couldn’t listen to all of them, but I did stream Buttigieg. He always impresses me. Tonight’s agenda is supposed to have the environment as a theme. That will be interesting

Getting Kamala's neices out there to explain how to pronounce her name was brilliant. Anyone like Nancy Mace who continues to mispronounce it will be correctly identified as a damn AH when even young elementary school kids have no problem with it. Judging from this week the democrats seem to have finally figured out how to deal with that sad orange clown. Don't get upset with him. Just laugh at and mock the buffoonery.

I think you quite possibly may be right. A campaign of joyous vacuity could well succeed against Trump’s glowering resentment. Especially in the short time remaining before the election.

The best a guy like me can hope for at this point is four years of gridlock.

Gridlock is often the optimal outcome anyways.
