Thanksgiving will just be a quiet day of the two of us. SO bought the smallest turkey I've ever seen (12.5 lbs) so it shouldn't take forever to cook. Weather's supposed to be good so I'll go for a hike on the "Big Trees" trail before dinner since it's my favorite super local trail (15 minute drive from our house).

I'm taking the whole rest of the week off because I need to use up some PTO so I plan to hit some other trails this week that would be too busy on most weekends. Otherwise the whole week I plan to have a quiet week. Doing an extra shift at the animal shelter on thursday morning since the regular adoption cat volunteer needed the day off.

I'm got lucky with an invite to a woman's home who has a reputation as an exceptional cook. Small dinner party and people were asked to bring a list of five of their favorite books to be discussed between courses. I'm not always so lucky and recall the tofurkey alone during covid. That was a dark Thanksgiving.

    Good wishes to everyone.

Your dinner will be better than ours!
