I don’t mind examining the “birthright” part of citizenship, it is time. HOW that is being done could be disparaged, though.

Birthright citizenship is mainly a thing in the Americas. Europe doesnt have it.

I thought and still think that the difference between a a Trump and Harris administration would equate to the difference between a cyanide kombucha and a strychnine smoothie.

I also thought and still think the US constitutional order is robust enough to survive either. I’m sorry that incenses you so badly. But the good news is that all that has to happen for you to be proven right is for the Republic to fall in the near future.

As far as the deterministic fortune-telling being promoted by that hedge fund consultant, I think the “obvious evidence” you and Steve Bannon see are the result of subjective cherry-picking of events that soothsayers and millenarian cults have indulged in forever.

If you could only close up the coup and keep all the politicians locked up in it, all those eggs they keep laying, just bringing the cost of eggs down.

Alan didn't ask what we THOUGHT about unconstitutional actions, he just asked what we thought they were. I agree that birthright citizenship is something that could be/should be up for discussion. But it's a constitutional right. Not something to be removed by executive fiat. I don't really care who has/does not have it. It's in the constitution, we have ways to amend said document, they are not being used. Ergo, unconstitutional action.

The judge who blocked that EO referred to it as “blatantly unconstitutional”. I’m inclined to agree with him.

So proud of Gov. Mills today and so glad to have voted for her. We need more people with her kind of courage.

Are you talking about the “boys in girls sports” issue?

The rule of law is getting trampled underfoot far too often.

    Check it out.

    And here's her statement yesterday:

Governor Mills' Statement on President's Threat to Withhold Education Funding from Maine

    February 21, 2025
Washington D.C. -- Governor Janet Mills issued the following statement today regarding the President's threat to withhold Federal education funding from Maine:
"If the President attempts to unilaterally deprive Maine school children of the benefit of Federal funding, my Administration and the Attorney General will take all appropriate and necessary legal action to restore that funding and the academic opportunity it provides. The State of Maine will not be intimidated by the President's threats."
