Sounds like, over all, things went well, SiouzQ. I'm glad. Hope the rest of the healing goes quickly.

I haven't figured out Substack user interface.

I can’t find the short list of authors I subscribe to.

i can’t read comments on random articles.

so far, not a fan of the user experience although it seems to be a rich resource given who is writing there.

I agree about the interface, but I've figured it out. Regarding finding the short list of people you subscribe to, if you go to the Home page, and make sure you choose the tab "Following" you'll see newsletters by people you follow/subscribe to. At least I'm reasonably sure of that. That's how I filter my favorite authors.

And I had to look up how to see comments--you have to click on the actual note and then you'll be able to see the comments.

BTW, regarding your comment on the complexity of the country's financial issues--one of the people I have a paid subscription for is Paul Krugman. He is great at explaining complex economic issues. Of course he is on the left side of the spectrum, and definitely anti-Trump, but he still is rationally neutral about things like tariffs.

I haven't paid for the Krugman sub stack yet, but can get a lot fo information rom his free subscription. For example, today being tax day, he speculated that the difference between what people owe and what they pay could be historically large due to the cut backs at the IRS and the inability to monitor or audit returns. Although he does get into some basic easy to understand economic explanations, too. It is something he is known for. I especially like music coda that he features most days. Today's was live uTube performance of the Talking Heads doing their reduction of burning down the house. He is left leaning.

I have no other knowledge or recommendations from Substack, but a subscription is easy to set up and it's not burdened with ads or unwanted emails, unlike some social media.

At noon your time I was at a Dollar store looking for some plastic fillable eggs. I think when my grandson has gray hair he will still want to hunt eggs. So I will fill and hide them as long as I can.
My therapist told me the way to achieve true inner peace is to finish what I start. So far today, I have finished two bags of M&Ms and a chocolate cake. I feel better already!

Egg hunts are the best part of Easter, that and all of the pastel decor. I’m glad he enjoys them.

That's funny! When my kids were growing up, I would always attach a note to the basket from the Easter Bunny. I would reference things they had done throughout the year with corny puns like "I saw you hippity-hopping down that soccer field!" or "you were furry smart at the spelling bee" Typically I would get to it around midnight before Easter Sunday and trying to come up with these four notes was torture. Well, they got notes from the Easter Bunny until they left the house and got married.

When they started having their own kids, I was like YES, FINALLY I won't be the Easter Bunny anymore... until my son called me up and asked me to write them for my grandson!! I think I did for one year and then told him that I retired from the E.B. business.

So I get the gray hair thing, Kay!

So quiet in the forums! Hope that means everyone is out and about doing stuff that brings them joy. I've been "puppy" sitting. Sally has learned that ringing the bell will get her taken outside, but she does it just to get outside! (not necessarily for bathroom purposes. LOL)

Have been trying to get caught up on little things and still figure out Medicare supplemental, Dental and Vision. So many offerings! How to figure out the best one... and soon! Have a call with an advisor, but learned last time that s/he doesn't have access to all plans. Sigh....

Edited to add: Sorry, that sounds like whining. Which I guess it is, but... LOL

I wish. So many side effects COULD be chemo or cancer, but then there is one that leads me to believe it's the cancer (lost 15# last week).

So yesterday, finished, notarized and filed with the medical faculties, my medical POA, life directives. Worked on the Beneficiary deeds (not quite done), trying to figure out and have to get to my old house for the TOD on some of the vehicles (one done when bought), and figuring out will, while I called to see when lawyer is available.
I am hoping for the best, but not expecting it.
