Doing a Drive-N-Eat in Central America.

OKAY---it'd be really nice ta start your day having a lovely breakfast at a nice cafe' in southernmost Panama, and then tour on through the next 60-ish miles thru the so-called "Darien Gap", and have dinner & coffee at a really nice place in Colombia. They say it is best to have a vehicle suited for off-roading and of course--take other safety precautions. Kind of like if you were going through our Blue States, in the USA. But yeah---the scenery and of course the wildlife would be spectacular, I'm sure. Just a suggestion. Thankk Mee.

okay-0--but, let's stick to the discussion of a drive-n-eat through Darien Province, Panama, into Colombia, where it links up with the rest of the route of the Panamerican Highway. Somebody like Eldom Mosk or whoever needsta build a 4-lane toll road through there, and lease out land for gas stations and restaurants, so tourists can drive-n-eat. Maybe even have a lane & charging stations for EEEBikes. Yup.

I don't think I've seen one since about 1971, and that was well before NBC news created 'red' states, which were at that time Democratic.

Colorado used to be a red or swing state voting republican in presidential elections. I'd gladly turn the way back machine back to those days before everyone moved here. Of course the GOP wasn't the same Old Grand back then. But we do have an In and Out Burger and Buc-ees now.

okay---here's the last littlebitty town on the paved road that stops in Darien Province. Established by the Spanish in the 1600's. So yeah---here's a local cafe; ain't no "Bucky's" or whatever there. (see photo). From then on out, it's just jungle trails, all the wayta Colombie. Yup.

okay---guess what? there's some old, junk cars abandoned in the Darien Gap. But yeah--what happened was GM had some people attempt to cross the gap in a caravan of 3 new 61 Corvairs, two 4WD Chevy trucks, and a support vehicle that carried extra fuel, and a crew of at least a dozen men. Well, the effort took weeks, and only two corvairs made it. one corvair was abandoned and apparently is still sitting there(see photo), and i assume the trucks were too. not sure. GM musta decided the deal was a failure, so it didn't get much publicity. I read that several hundred thousand illegals have made the trip from Colombia, en route to the usa. I don't know how they accomplished it. Thats why i encourage you kids to try it. Hope that helps you some.
