It’s funny that you all are talking about chocolate things at Trader Joe’s. The one time I had bad Swiss chocolate was something I purchased at Trader Joe’s. I don’t know what they did to that chocolate, but it was not good.

I’m not a huge fan of Trader Joe’s anyway since everything is so overly packaged it seems to me. Plus, we never have a Trader Joe’s close to where I live anyway so every time I go there, it is unusual. I remember getting addicted to a couple of Trader Joe’s products more than a decade ago, and then they stopped carrying it.

I love their goat's milk yogurt. It's the only yogurt I eat, and I like it with freshly ground black pepper. Oddly enough, nobody else seems to think this sounds appealing!

Well, my grandmother's home made schmerecase, as I remember it, tasted much like a sour/tart yogurt, and we always put pepper on it. So - maybe not quite so odd to pepper some yogurt. I've not tried their goat's milk yogurt - I may do that. Currently, I like their honey Greek yogurt, which we eat for dessert. My frugal today is that I let my sister buy our supper... And used gasbuddy to find the best price on my usual route into town.

Am dividing plants to fill in new section of flower garden where I expanded it because I was sick of mowing around the big stones so threw down some hay on the new part.

The house hay was a frugal in that it saved on heat costs but the best is having fifty bales to use in the garden.

Bought Espoma rose food at Ocean State Job Lot for 4 dollars cheaper than at the Ace Hardware.

Tybee: I always buy my potting soil and fertilizer at OSJL. They're also my go-to for calendars, garden gloves (the best gloves for a really good price), and insect repellent. I like doing business with them too, not just for the good prices, but I like a lot of the charitable stuff they do. They seem to be a company with a social conscience.
Speaking of discount stores, you are in Maine, do you have a Reny's nearby? I just love the one in Portland.

We sure do have a Reny's--there's actually one in our closest town so it's our go to if we need anything.

Ocean State Job Lot. I'm not sure how widespread they are, but they're a popular discount chain in our area.

I LOVE OSJL!! One of my favorite stores. I miss the NJ one I used to go to all the time, BUT I just learned that there's one in St. Albans, which is as close to me as anything else up here--about 40 minutes away! Worth the trip.

Never heard of that store before. We did used to have a Big Lots, but it closed a while ago. Right now, the similar type store in my area is called Popshelf.
