    New Years Resolutions

Not sure if this belongs in Holidays or here but I thought I'd start one. I'm going to try to come up with five for this year. So far I only have two:

    1. stop checking student papers for plagiarism and AI. If the school does not care, why should I.

    2. Either fix the uneven floors in my house or move to a different house. It's been five years and I can't take it anymore.

I also don't have resolutions, really. Although if I did, I would be more intentional about contacing friends and family members. I'm way too remiss at that. I would like to call a couple of my cousins and my sister-in-law once every couple of months at least. I really love these people, and I don't know why I don't work harder at nurturing good relationships.

I know! I have a ready-made social group here on my block of retirees who are gardeners. Two of my immediate neighbors are in the garden club here. And do you think I’ve invited them over for anything? No, I have not. This is just dumb. Hell I don’t even know how to call them.

I say that I miss my old neighborhood due to the physical proximity where we are all so close we were friends. But that’s not really what’s going on here because heck I’ve got physical proximity here. You know what’s missing? Honestly, I fear it’s the alcohol!

we drank rather a lot in Lafayette Square, heh heh.

Haha! Well, a couple of years ago I started a shared Google sheet for my Master Gardener group of us 5 old ladies. We list our project assignments on it. One of the tabs I made was a contact sheet, which works great. Maybe you could start there!

Feeling very "stuck" this past year so hope to figure out some solutions:
Finish our/my end of life/estate plan.
Get rid of things I no longer need or like.
Figure out where in Hades we want to grow old.
Make a gardening plan that doesn't tether me to the work of tending all growing season.
There are others but indecision and comfort with status quo rules all without concrete steps.

oh I could find Jeanette’s number because she’s in the garden club directory, but Diana is brand new and we haven’t seen a new directory yet.

I kept detailed records in my old Lafayette Square neighborhood of everyone on my block and the block one down because I was “block captain “and I had to know how to reach them. Now that I think about it, I should’ve put it on a shared Google sheet. But I found that most people wouldn’t use the shared Google Docs we had for our board. I have since forgotten how to use it and got stuck recently, using it for another garden club’s thing.

Had AI compile the best diet and exercises for the medical conditions I have. Now need to put on the calendar to implement. One doc is sending me for a sleep study (may be major factor in one condition) and another sending me to a nutritionist. Need to work diligently to maintain quality of life!

I had a sleep study done through the home testing equipment for 2 nights. I think you are right to go elsewhere to a sleep study center, that is if you think you can get a night’s sleep that simulates normal sleep.

I thought the rules around receiving and returning this equipment were overly restrictive, and the equipment itself seemed janky and I’m not sure it came up with an accurate reading in sleep apnea resuls, but yeah I do test positive on the sleep apnea scale. This is something that GLP-1 meds are prescribed for.

Ugh, sleep apnea. my original sleep study was done in a lab and seemed really professional. I did one years later and it was with a pulmonology practice but it was a take home monitor, no real monitoring. I have little faith in it as the dr said I was the worst case he'd ever seen, told me to buy a new c-pap, and did sod-all follow up. So I figured I wasn't all that bad. I don't use the c-pap, hate it intensely. I sleep slightly reclined in my chair, snore little while sleeping that way, and almost always wake up rested. Based on that, I have concluded that sleep apnea is caused by either a vaccine or by the c-pap machine industry /s . I really do need to loose a significant amount of weight, as my A1C has slid into the diabetic range. *sigh* So my resolution, should I actually make one, will be in the "eat better, exercise more" area.
