    March Purge

Had to declutter my St Patrick's Day wreath. Cat was eating it and then throwing up the residue. Need to find one made out of something not so appealing to her.

Haha! That is a good reason to declutter!

Yes. She did the same thing to another one of my wreaths recently that was made out of the same material. Not sure why after 5 years, she has decided all of a sudden that she needs to eat them.

Ah, cats. I am allowed to have rugs in certain places. In another room, I’m not allowed to have a rug, or at least I’m not allowed to have THAT rug because Mr. Brown tabby pees on it. I do not know what the rug criteria is, a mystery to me.

I got rid of 7 vintage silk saris surprisingly quickly. Someone drove from an hour to get them from my porch. So that was cool. I gave them away because I just wanted to be rid of them and I didn’t want to spend a lot of time trying to find a good home for them.

I’m so happy to report that after moving here 3 1/2 years ago, my room is
finally “done “and all the closets and cubbyholes are finished, and it’s clear that I can fit everything of mine into these closets and cubbies.

i’m a little worried though when I think about the stuff at my condo. When I sell that which will probably happen in the next 5-10 years, I will have 2-3 shelves of books to place here, plus—-ugh, dishes. I can’t envision what to do with these dishes, but I’ll worry about that down the road when it happens.

A pair of shoes I had listed on eBay just sold. I've not had much luck selling my clothing on eBay, but I've had success with shoes.

Three of my husband's sweaters. The only three he has actually. All too small for him so he hasn't worn them in years. Also removed the armoire from my bedroom. It was pretty much empty so what little there was got put into dresser drawers.

Finally mailed off a small piece of diving gear I'd promised to a friend a year ago. Glad to get that gone.

I have been pitching little stuff here and there for a couple of weeks now. I refuse to count the items and keep track of them, but it’s at least 20. I’m operating on the “this is irritating “principal.

If it irritates me for some reason, it’s getting chucked into the trash.

we have too many measuring spoons and that irritates me so some went to the trash. Why do I have these old worn placemats around? They are ugly and that is irritating, so into the trash they go. These outdoor rugs irritate me because they did not fade evenly. One looks a bit decent and the other one is too faded, irritating! Into the trash. That outfit I bought, didn’t quite fit right, I spent hours trying to make it fit better with my sewing needle – ugh. It went to the Goodwill bag.

I’m secretly proud of myself to be able to donate some clothing to Goodwill because I have not in the past. My clothes have been so stained and ugly that I just trashed them when I’m done with them.

okay----even though youi kids may think this sounds deviant and perverse(like two men or two wimmin getting marryed)--i did some Reverse Decluttering. It is VERY Trendy, at present. DEcluttering is in the past. Ha. Anyway---i scored a wooden packing crate(HUGE), and a very nice 55 gallon steel drum, and some scrap lumber! Yup. Looking for a spot to set it. That's what old pickups are for. Hope that helps you some.
