So, my rant is about how sucky 2025 has been from a health perspective. Lightning does strike twice. As you know, my daughter was diagnosed with breast cancer in January. She has gone through chemo, two surgeries, and is about to start 5 weeks of radiation. She is doing fine overall, and we pray that she will be cancer-free once this is over.
In August, DH went to the hospital feeling pressure in his chest after golf, and thought he might be having a heart attack. No heart attack, but in the process of testing, they found lung cancer, which has spread to liver and bones. He is undergoing chemo and immunotherapy. The future is unknown, but I'm optimistic about the immunotherapy because, as a healthcare researcher, I've talked to many cancer patients who have had great results with it. We are going through the different stages you go through in things like this, and we are now at the acceptance part, bolstered by the fact that we are doing something about it. But it still sucks.
