I totally agree, and that reminds, me time to buy a new atlas as they do update periodically. I also stop and grab maps at the welcome stations as they tend to have more detail.

My phone is constantly going out of service so I would be scared to travel without an atlas if going out of state.

We tell our phones to "Take me to the nearest Walmart" or "Take me to the nearest gas station" or whatever. Our standalone GPS won't do that but our phones never let us down.
Did that today on my phone for a bank. It was wrong! Like you, we use a both. My standalone GPS has live traffic updates… It also shows gas stations and all types of shopping, restaurants etc.

I bought my iPhone 2 years ago and use it for everything. I love it and use the gps. Since it was expensive I will use it until it dies and hopefully that’s a total of 5 years of use.

He would probably be horrified at the way I bought our most recent car.

After the local Ford garage suggested I “go online and identify the features that I want… “I thought hell no, I’m not doing that since I have no interest in “features. “ So I called our friend from whom we’ve purchased three cars at a Ford dealership near St. Louis, and said: “Ed, I want a Ford Bronco Sport, I want it in that funny new blue color, and I don’t want a lot of junk on it .” Ed verified the color I wanted and that was it. We picked it up a couple weeks later.

I am a researcher and look at a ton of reviews before I buy most products. It’s easy with everything online.

Well, I will spend two years choosing dinnerware because it is a very important choice! I spent months and months buying stoves, because color was important. Features were not important.

neither one of my new and admittedly expensive stoves have invection and/or convection, whatever all that stuff is.

I think though when we talk about simple living, it means not making things more complicated than they need to be. I no longer trust most of the review sites anyway. The deed is done as of an hour ago...if I can figure out how to transfer some things that went missing.

I got my iPhone 11 almost 4 years ago and still love it. The battery is down to 80% capacity which is still fine but I plan to pay to have it replaced at some point so that I can get another 2-3 years out of it. The one thing I wanted it to do better than the iphone 6 that I had before is have a better camera. I'm still quite pleased with that so I don't see any benefit at this time for upgrading.

That’s great JP! I think mine is a 12 so hopefully it will last a long time.
