My sister and her wife were going to come for thanksgiving to see our new house. Then the recommendation to not travel due to covid happened so they postponed their trip. Originally until Christmas and then indefinitely because the case counts kept mounting. This week they finally are coming to visit. Thanksgiving will be this Saturday. SO is insisting that I get a rutabaga because that’s what his family always does. Everything else we’re making is the same as my family always did and pretty standard. Turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, gravy, cranberries, sweet potatoes, pumpkin pie. The only other nonstandard thing (in my mind at least) we’ll be doing is that my SIL likes cheddar cheese with her pumpkin pie. I’m curious what other people do. Any other family traditions that are nonstandard?
