Why? What I am seeing is that both candidates will be shown and will tell about them??????

"Both" candidates?

Well, you find something about "other" possible candidates.

As we have discussed ad nauseam, vote for an outlier and your vote is wasted.

No, simply as you have asserted ad nauseam.

You know there are alternatives, you don’t want to recognize them.

BEST and most accurate movie quote, EVER!

I only wish all 50 states, actually allow it.

I saw a sign yesterday for a Liberatarian I never heard of. The other person I know was trying to get on the ballot is Kanye West. I, truthfully, have not searched out any alternatives simply for that reason. I would HAVE to search them out. Why bother? They do not have a possible chance of winning. So, basically, there is no alternative.

I think the PBS special looks good! Thanks for posting, frugal-one.

Regarding alternative candidates, I love Vermont. I looked it up and I have a choice of 22 candidates, representing the Republican, Democrat, Green, Libertarian, Independent, Socialist Workers, Prohibition, Constitution, Bull Moose, American Solidarity, Grumpy Old Patriots, Boiling Frog, and Bread and Roses parties.

Who says there's no alternatives?

I may take Jeppy's reminder into consideration that Vermont is pretty solidly blue, so one of these other fine choices may get my vote.

You had to look them up so you know they are not in a position to win. I just don't get voting for the sake of voting???? ... especially in a pandemic and all the drama being played out.

Yes. We completely understand that you do not “get voting for the sake of voting.” I accept that as fact. It is not necessary to continue to repeat that fact.

When you can't abide either of the candidates, that seems like the moral thing to do.

But then you might not be on the winning team!!!! Rah rah sis boom bah!

As much as I would like to vote for Todd, I fear that he would be susceptible to cheesy bribes--his yard sign is pretty blatant, after all--and I've had more than enough skulduggery in the White House. I'm all in for Biden/Harris, even as I wish the ticket were reversed.

It is crucial to vote for Biden/Harris. Why? I will be 85006 honest with you. If you choose to vote for Trump, you are saying to the universe that you are OK with middle class and below US citizens dying early due to lack of health care access so that the obnoxiously wealthy may stay that way. Nothing more , nothing less. If you care so little about human life - how about subsidizing SO and I are our clan's starting over in one of the many better countries? We get a decent life - You get to maintain American fantasies. Win/Win for all. Rob

What is the dollar amount of the subsidy you are asking for? Just curious. I doubt I would pony up that amount but boy is it tempting, Not that I care if you’re here or not Rob, but if you left then I wouldn’t have to hear any more Boy Crying Wolf.

Also out of curiosity, how does a dollar amount change your stated reason for remaining in this country which is taking care of your elderly mother?

If we care so little about human life, wouldn’t it be more convenient to simply leave you where you are? Not only would it be save the cost of helping support you elsewhere, but it would avoid antagonizing any of your targets for colonization.

It is also about the environment. As discussed many times....

Let's be real: Biden will be BAD on the environment. DNC refused to stop taking fossil fuel money. Biden will not come out against fracking. Obama boasted of increasing fossil fuel production. The Biden family has a fossil fuel history with the Ukraine. It's going to be bad in all likelihood. But Trump is absolutely horrible there as well. Biden might not privatize some national parks that Trump would, might keep slightly better fuel standards, might have a little less bad folks at the EPA.

It's not enough though.

Biden certainly has a fossil fuel jones, and he certainly is old school Republican light--but at least he doesn't believe every Russian GRU/QAnon fairy tale that comes down the pike, pursue vendettas against the opposition party, lie constantly and effortlessly, and on and on. If nothing else--if he wins--Bill Barr, Stephen Miller, Kayleigh McEnany, and a host of other evildoers will follow Trump out the door.

Shhhhhh! Don’t reveal our plan which is exactly what we are doing as you say, taking the convenient route.

But seriously, I have such a hard time connecting the dots in Rob‘s brain between his thought bubble #1 “I don’t like America” and thought bubble #2 “ Pay me to leave.”

Hunh? Why should I pay him to leave? What’s in it for me again? I do not really get it. I think Rob’s behavior is like that of a grifter and a bad salesman. Or maybe I should say it is a combo and is like a bad grifter. I wont think any less of this country , or any more of it, if Rob leaves. So me getting to “maintain american fantasies” is not bestowed upon me by Rob’s presence here.

I think it makes sense if you harbor a concept of “America” as a sort of parent. You can then accept the idea of America as an abusive or neglectful parent, and even feel justified asking for child support.

If you view “America” as more of a contractual than a familial relationship we have with one another, then it becomes puzzling when someone claims to feel insufficiently cherished.

ah, sort of like the sibling in the family who is poorly treated by parents, and his brothers and sisters, feeling guilty for enjoying a better childhood, convene to prop up that sibling regardless of that person’s attitude of entitlement.

Well then, I don’t have that sense of guilt here given my gender victim card. Mom and dad dealt me a harsher blow, Or so I’m told.

In that analogy I see this family dynamic playing out in DH’s family which I have spoken to before, it has to do with the black sheep of the family laying out all the reasons why there was unfair treatment. And while each reason is true as stated, conclusions drawn are not accepted by the group.
And no one is stepping up to help that victim.

America is not a feeling breathing being that has a conscience. It’s a country that is only as good as the people running it. I have a lot of trouble with how rob thinks about this issue.

I will try to vote for someone who I think will beat trump. Namely, Biden. There are too many other unknowns that don't have a chance IMO. I can't imagine another 4 years of trump.
