Okay---been real busy on my engineering projects at Sloppy's Body & Machine. Yup. Fixing the floor in my utility trailer, reorganizing my bike parts and square body parts. Along with making a set of spring shackles for my 1-ton that are an inch or two longer. Yup. Okay---I wanted to show you my pet cat named Poogie. Ever hear of a pug dog? Pooogie had been hanging out by the sandwich shop and army recruiters office, night & day for weeks. I went up there to catch her, but she was elusive, so the next day, I brought a can of num-nums, and she allowed me to grab her. I had inquired about her, and the story was like I said: "Oh, she's a stray that's been hanging around for awhile". Poor littlePoogie! She's a home body, if there ever was one. Yup. Anyway, I got her home, and abou a week later, she was showing signs of expecting kittens. but yeah---she had them, but one by one, they died. Poogie, though---she's still around for almost 6 years since I found her. Yup. Here's a photo, in case you don't believe there's such a thing as a Pug-Cat. Hope that helps you some. Thankk mee.4335

The Quick Brown Fox Jumped Over The Lazy Dogs' Back----Anonymous. Yup. I tell you kids my secret to grilled cheeses, that I learned up in that littlebitty townin the middle o' nowhere. What you do, is put dill pickle slices IN the sandwich, along with the American slices, and grille it. Forget the high-priced bread and cheese; there's NO Prestige to be had in eating a grilled cheese, for heavens'sake!. Although---Longhorn slices are good, too. But dill pickle slices---that's the key, right there. Yup. Hope that helps you some. Thankk Mee.

Poogie is adorable with her little upturned nose! Sad about the kittens though. Glad Poogie is getting to be a homebody with you.
I give a thumbs up to the pickles, but I do think sourdough and cheddar would make a nice sandwich. I'm not out to impress anyone with grilled cheese. I only post on FB when I do something awesome and amazing like shuck my own oysters. Oh, and I did brag about my Harvest Grain Bowl that I made, since I never cook anything and it was actually good!

littlebittybobby
4-3-22, 5:55pm
R/R That's good, real good---Self-shucked oysters! That's something I have not accomplished. See--Oysters are rare in Zurra. BUT we do have GarFish. They are very cute and edible, too. Ha. See Photo. Thankk Mee. Nope. I'll relay your compliment to Poogie, as well. Okay---here's one o' the best mooovies I ever saw, back when I was binging on mooveees back in the mid-90's. Nooooo, it's not one starring TomCruise or Leonardo DiCaprio or Will Smith. Nope. It stars Art Carney aka Norton on the Honeymooners. Well, it co-stars Tonto, his cat, too. It's called: "Harry & Tonto", from back in oh, 1974 or 75. I rented it, really enjoyed it, and when the video store started to close out all their videos really cheap, I bought a copy. So, I have it around here, someplace. If you ask me, the 70's were kind of the golden era for semi- low-budget films. Like the movies Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore or Five Easy Pieces.or Dog Day Afternoon . And others. Before all the excessive, over-the-top everything they have now. Maybe you can locate a copy & see em. It may be on DVD. But, don't spend a whole lot. Hope that helps you some. Spaghetti La Ittybittybob-o is on the menu, for this evening. Ha.43364337

Okay--I'm taking a littlebitty informal survey here, to help with my research project. What the one question is: Which party-affiliated candidate would you rather vote for, if there were no other choices? : A) A Communist; or B) A Nazi. Okay--take your time, think it over, and make your choice. If you can't sleep at night, you can call mee to change your answer.

I wanted to see Five Easy Pieces for years because of the chicken salad sandwich scene, but the actual movie was a disappointment, since that was the only good part (in my humble opinion).

4-4-22, 1:11pm
Okay---What about Chickken Kiev or Kyev or whatever? It is the blend of spices or what? That's what I'm wondering. I really hate the idea of chickens being eaten. Doesn't sound good, to me.

Are you a vegetarian? It doesn't sound good to me either, but they taste good. Not really. Not purist enough to be classified as one. But close. I try to economize, by eating less expensive foods, lower on the pyramid. See? Plus, I like those chickens my neighbor has, when they strut around, checking for bugs. We are better off having them doing that, than on our plate. It's too much hassle, cooking them anyway. I have important projects to see to. Hope that helps you some.

Quote O' the day: "Give 'em an inch, and they'll take a mile"----Anonymous Wisdom. Well,I been making progress on my trailer project. I've had it since it was a nice, new trailer in 1994. But, for the last 20 years, it has looked pretty shabby, due to deferred maintenance & deterioration in the wood floor. But, I've got the wood in my salvaged cull lumber pile, cut to size, now. Also, I picked up a 5 gallon bucket o' mistint exterior stain($22), that I'll use on the wood, to protect it. Yup. I've got to have that trailer in tip-top shape, to move vehicles, plus to haul a rental Terramite(brand name) excavating machine. Sure don't want it going through the floor, when I try to load it. Nope.

Okay---I'm making progress on my trailer. We DON'T need rain. I had to drill holes to attach a metal support on the crossmember of the trailer. It is really just a bracket made from scrap, metal that I've been hoarding for years. Scrap metal can be VERY useful, especially if you are like me! Yup. Earlier on, the chimney cap fell off the house. I put it on there about 30 years ago. The cap is okay---it was a band of metal, made of aluminum, that let go. Sooo, I have a nice assortment of this (scrap) polished stainless steel the right width, so I made a new band to hold it on. Yup. Also, the steel screws---replaced them with stainless, but had to purchase them. Also, there were 1/4 galvanized bolts I had on hand----been hoarding them for DECADES---that I also used. Should last at least 30 more years! Yup. Oh--one of myprojects is to sort through mysteering columns and steering column parts, and organize them a little better. You really can't have too many spare steering column parts, y'know. Yup. Hope that helps you some. ThankkMee.

littlebittybobby
4-5-22, 4:47pm
Okay---the previous owner of this house left a lotta rubbish behind. But, you know what? They also left a 1969 Buick factory body service manual. That thing is pure gold, because not only do I have a 1969 Buick, but that shop manual has a special section dealing with the new-for-1969 Steering Column! It really applies to most GM (and even Jeeps &some oddball applications)for the next 40 or 50 years! It cleared up MUCH confusion on mypartconcerning repair procedures. Ha. But,yeah---just about every car / truckI've owned has had column work, both major and minor--by littlebittymee. Ha. And that book---that I saved---helped. Yup.

God Save The Queen!---Her Loyal Subjects. Do you kids know that Queen Vicky detested Polka Music? Yup. It was the loud, rock outdoor festival music of it's day, in Central Europe. But, Vicky was a fogey. They shoulda had termlimits, then. Yup. Did you know that Kaiser Wilhelm was her Grandson? Vicky 2, was his mom. He was the German Monarch up until the aftermath of the border war that British imperialists turned into WW1. Wilhelm lived out his days in Holland; right up to the border war with imperialist Russia that(yup--you guessed it)imperialist Britain also ramped up into what is now known as WW2! You wanna blame someone for all that suffering many times over---1/2 million Americans sacrificed---blame the English. Yup. Everything is an inside deal. We're with The Good Guys! The country that conquered land on every continent! Who burned the White House in their war of 1812. Yup. Ha. Hope that helps you some. Thankmee.

Okay----an important announcement about Progress ,as I know it. Not, as you kids think you know it. Ha. Anyway, I was the prevailing bidder on several shelves and a lowboy lateral file cabinet. These will be used to further organize my Stuff. VERY important and essential Stuff. Yup. Thing is, that particular auction site has gotten infected with apparent shill bidders. Like it's an inside job, to maintain their competitive edge with the client base. See? If anyone notices a pattern & complains, they can just blame site hackers, or something. Anyway, I'm gonna backoff from bidding there, in the future. But, I am glad to get this storage equipment. Sure beats a trip to ikea, or spending all day at an onsite auction or flea markets, etc. See? Anyway, the secret is in the storage. Any lazy fool can sit n watch TV & complain, but getting your stuff organized takes a REAL genius. Dumpstering is for weenies. See? Hope that helps you some. ThankkMee.

I am very organized. There are ads from a closet design company in our local newspaper that say "IMAGINE YOUR HOME, TOTALLY ORGANIZED," and it makes me indignant, because it seems to imply that my home is not TOTALLY ORGANIZED.

littlebittybobby
4-7-22, 11:44am
Imagine--My Home Totally Organized!! Hard to imagine, but I never give up trying. Nope. But, yeah---you've not only to be organized---you've got to know where it is! Yup. Like---sometimes I can't locate something I just know I have. So, I don't waste more time looking for it. I get busy with some other routine task, while letting the obsolete search engine in my brain have more time to find it. Then---all off a sudden---more results! That's usually where I put it. Yup. Okay---here's a peculiar circumstance--Imagine a mommy,a daddy, and two of their grown adult male offspring, all sleeping in the same bed! But, that's the world o'catts, for ya. Yup.

littlebittybobby
4-7-22, 12:23pm
Okay---here's a couple classic cases of hoarding obsolete old stuff that is not being used by anyone. Some of youwillbe outraged and upsetbythis horror story. Yup. Okay---in the 40's,beforewe got tangled upin that big war The Good Guys started(our "allies"ha---england & russia), an auto manufacturer ceased production of new cars. They had a large inventoryof spare parts---and they were sold auction to some guy(not gonna research his name) and shortstory long, he held onto the parts for sseveraldecades. Then, sold theminto a Guy in Okelhoma who already HAD a nice, steady job as a school teacher. Prolly had bennies & a pension, too! But the school teacher trucked ALL those dusty, rusty old parts ALL the way backfrom the Rust Belt to Okelhoma, and stored themin an old building he had bought. It was organized, but only to a degree. Then, the guy set about assembling the parts into the cars they were made for!! He did that for quite awhile, and thereafter, started selling the parts to people whoneeded them, for the cars originally made backin the 30's. Yup. But,not a lot, since they were a fairly low-volume outfit, during the Great Depression. Which make me ask a rhetorical quesssion: IF the country was broke during the Great Depression, how'd "We" mobilize millions into a fighting force to help "The Good Guys"(Russia, who controlled Eurasia, and England, who controlledland on every inhabited continent. ), and equip them all with nice, new Cadillac & Packard & Rolls-Royce-poward ships, planes, tanks, along with all the guns, ammo, uniforms, helmets, tents, etc.? Did they run up a Huuuuge, huge bill on their Mastercard? I mean, where did that money or credit, come from? BTW, Ford Motor was on the verge of broke, broke, broke in the middle of WW2. Yup. That's why they had to let HF 2 outof the service, to reorganize & manage the company. See--it was privately held, Edselhad died, and Ol' Henry was in bad shape due to age-related issues. But yeah--if we'da had REAL patriotic leadership--we'da turned down an invitation to go party in Europe and Asia, and simply defended our borders, as needed! I know what you kids are "thinking"--rememberPearl Harbor, as seen on moooo-vEEEEEs and tEEE-vEEE!!! Ha.
But---Pearl Harbor was not being defended! It was just sitting there, just waiting to be attacked. Now you know. Okay--example of massive hoarding #2. Studebaker in South Bend hand been manufacturing for a looong time, whenthey ceased in the mid 60's. There was a Huuuuge multi-story warehouse building in S.B., full of car parts. Plus, dealerships around the country were closingor changing car lines---going toChryslerProducts, AMC,or imports. Yup. They stillkept some study parts toservice loyal customers. But, eventually what happened was, thelocal Studebaker dealer in SB bought all those parts, and I believe leased the enormous old building they were in. Hoarders went around buying up cache's of parts former dealers held in old inventory, too. Yup. Anyway, the SB dealer sold parts out of that place until the late 90's, and then sold the inventory toa llongtime employee, who then had tomove everything acrodss the street to another old building, because the county wanted to raze the building to build a nice, new jail complex, on the site. Ha. That's progress. Anyway, the parts changed hands again, and were inventoried, moved to another former auto plant in South Bend. Not cheap rent, either. But, they didn't just dumpster everything, to tidy up. See? That's the moral of the story. Yup. Hope that helps you some. Thankk Mee.

Okay---Jury Duty. I've been called up for that, a couple times. Yup. They even pay ya, thoughI don't know what; it's only if you are impaneled as a juror. Anyway---if you are a criminal defendant , looking for a jury of your peers---ha. Good luck with that. Yup. If you have a lawsuit going---as plaintiff in a personal injury or malpractice---you have a much better chance. Yup. And--if you are like mee---you prolly won't be selected as a juror, either. Ha. As most of youkids know---I have FAR too many biases, to be considered "fair and impartial". Ha. Yup. Anyway--long story short--I showed up, sat through the questions, and was dismissed,or whatever. I did notice this---the courthouse janitor wore authentic Levi-Strauss jeans! Hey--that's practically formal wear, these days! Ha. I haven't wasted that kind of money in close to 30 years! Nope. Thankk Mee.

littlebittybobby
4-7-22, 2:45pm
Oh---another thing--the last jury dooty---was a criminalcase. Anyway, the judge addressed the jury pool with some standard speech he prolly always gives, and I'll paraphrase one of the points he made---that the way we do things in a REAL court of law, isn't like what you see on tEE-vEE. Ha. No joke; Nothing in REAL life is done the way you see on tEE-vEE, see? That's why it is so toxic, and bad for you. Hope that helps you some. ThankkMee.

4359Okay--checkout this photo. It's a stockpile I have in my basement. Ha. Just kidding;I don't HAVE a basement! Anyway, I've seen this photo numerous times, and I believe it's a warehouse of confiscated-from-the-bad-guys(losers)WW2 battle rifles. The bad guys ALWAYS lose, ya know. Ha. Anyway, they are mostly German K-98's. Yup. Lot's of 'em found their way back into other armies or to civilian use. Yup. There are lots of them still around, owned by collectors, but the ammo is getting VERY expensive. At one time, surplus ammo was cheep & plentiful. But, no more.

Okay---I've got a Manly Transmission, sitting out there in the shop. It was in perfect condition, even though it's over 50 years old. I tore it down, just to check it over, it's fine, for a Muncie 4-speed manly transmisson. It's going in my 66 Chevelle Malibu. Thing has a Hurst Shifter, too. Yup. Hope that raises your spirits. Thankkmee.

Okay--here's something weird, to me. See---I was reminded the other day of an air crash I saw in the news, back when I was a kid. I was able totrackdown when that happened & where. So,yeah---it happened in I-wah and Zurra, in May of 1962. Yup--it was a saboteur,on an airliner. Well---okay---now, I'm seeing news about the 28th anniversary of the "Fedex Flight 705 Hijacking". Well,I don't reeally recall it,and I was an adult 28 years ago, but I don't remember it. Anyway, what it was was a disgruntled(or whatever) employee tried to hijack a company cargo plane, by attacking the pilots with a hammer that he took on board. He did manage to severely injure the crew, and nearly crashed the plane, which was his goal. The perpetrator was subdued by the crew, despite their serious injuries. The Perpetrator, as I subsequently read, is a Stanford-educated, Black Veteran, who was employed by Memphis-based FEDEX, but is now serving multiple life sentences, in SuperMax out in Colorado. He ebben axed President Obamma for a pardon. But,it was denied. Anyway, lately this is the first I've heard of the incident. Oh,well. The plane, an obsolete DC-10,is still flying as of 2021. It sustained damage and required repairs, but it was returned to service. The pilots who were attacked, unfortunately were too disabled to resume flying. Nope.

Okay---Some aircraft fans are boo--hooing over the "loss" of this giant airplane, destroyed by Our Allies, Russia(that we saved from those no-good Germans, right?)somewhere in Ukraine. Normally, I like junk, but my junk-o-meter tells me this thing is better off, scrapped. <For various reasons>. Its' destruction was a calculated act. But, that's war. I'm in no way to prepared to write a long paragraph, being a conspiracy buff. I'm like you kids---I just look at the Big Picture. Ha. Hope that helps you some. Thank Mee.4363

I got a jar of pickles---they weren't the cheapest, either. Almost Always, the cheapest are also the best. I worked in a pickle factory, for awhile. The guy who was in charge of making the brine to exacting recipes, was very discerning, and very important. He resembled Carroll Shelby. You know who he was, don't you? Why not? Anyway--He complained that his daughter graduated from college, got a good-paying job($27k per year), but she was always short of money, because as he said: "she blows it". I assume that means she attended Paul McCartney Concerts on a regular basis. Ha. Where was I? Oh, yeah---these pickles---they turned out to be pretty good! Yummy. Yup. They alsohave that symbolon the label they signifies that Gods' Chosen People approves of this product. See? Doesn't even say: Kosher. nope. Just a U, inside a circle. But, yeah---they're yummy. I've found that pickles are health food, too. I recommend making them a regular part of your diet. Hope that helps you some. Thankk Mee.

Okay---Guess what? I purchased, through EBay, a set of outer tie rod ends. But, they weren't the chinese cheapies that aren't really up to the task of guiding a 66 Chevelle!. Nope. What these are, is a set made in USA, by the company long known as TRW. Yup. They were the go-to company for auto parts and defense hardware. Plus, a credit rating company. Sure were. Apparently, these were stock that had been held in a warehouse for YEARS, instead of being DUMPSTERED to reduce clutter! See? What happened was, TRW was bought-out years ago, by a German company! It's something like Gesuhndheitheilderfuerherschaft, or something. Yup. But---these are TRWparts-- REAL American-made for REAL American Cars. Not by Commies or Fascists. Hope that helps you some. Thank Mee.

I like the pickles that come in plastic deli-style containers. They are sold under different brand names, but here is one example: https://www.weismarkets.com/shop/product/butcher-shop-half-sour-pickles/576514

Yeah---Good. Plastic usually isn't used for picked foods; the plastic is I guess subject to degredation by vinergar. Or something. I prefer Great Value Instant coffee,in the VERY useful plastic bottle; but sometimes buy Always save, which is in glass, because the store is closer. But yeah--the pickles are Vlasic Brand. That's the kind that uses the bird icon, that also emulates the voice of the late Groucho Marx on tEE-vEE. But, that's not why I bought them. It says they are Zesty Bread & Butter Chips, for sammmiches. But,I just eat 'em directly from the bottle. Vinegar is beneficial, and salt is the staff of life. Yup. Even though dietitians or whoever have vilified salt. I have been eating baloney & mustard & pimento spread sandwiches, at times, lately. S'what us po' fokes eat. Sounds good, does it not?

Okay---first decent day, after some chilly windy ones. I did get my used auction lowboy file home. It has a lower file drawer, then two regular drawers for storage. It's perfect, for me. Already has casters on it! Yup. I picked up a cheap plastic drawer divider at DolGen, to use in the upper drawer. This will keep my "stuff" at hand, and organized. Tired of rummaging around, after Cats knock things off. See? But, today, I did more painting on my utility trailer, and moved stuff around. Getting ready to remove summa these Zurra Trees, and before you start protesssin' and stuff---these Zurra Trees are like giant weeds! Shoulda never let 'em grow, in the first place. They are just a liability. But, yeah---there's some logistics and some equipment hassling to do, before I get under way. I am hurrying, too. I got a nice assortment of chain saws, and I'll check them, tomorrow. Hope that helps you some. ThankkMee.

You know, the pickles I like do have a relatively short shelf life, with a sell by date that's usually a few months out rather than a couple of years. What you say about vinegar degrading plastic would explain that.

littlebittybobby
4-10-22, 7:08pm
TYVM, R/R. Yeah---Pickles are yummy and so are pickled sliced Jalapenos. I have been buying them in the gallon-sized, to put on everything except ice cream. Yup. I know that's extreme, but hey---I am Mr Extreme. Okay---I was sitting, watching a video a former co-worker sent, about a surfer dude who surfs off the coast of Michigans' Upper Peninsula. Lake Superior, dude! Whoaaa, that's icy cold up dere! Yah. So, since I find heights to be a challenge, I decided to look into hiking to Michigans High point, which is also located on the UP. Way out in the middle o' nowhere. Nothin' up dere people; nuthin' but BEARS. Ha. Anyway, the high point is just under 2000' in elevation, so it doesn't classify as a mountain, by some people's standard. But, it's a 12 mile hike--one way-- in Bear Country, so that should compensate for the diminished Fear Factor. Yup. Okay---Quote o' the Day---"For Gods' Sake---Get Out! I believe that was Father Holywater, in that really, really, really scarrrreee mOOVEE, uh---Amityville Horror. Yup. Did you kids know that in the last few years we lost Margot Kidder? Yup. Did you know we also lost Ronnie DeFeo ,Jr? He died in prison, age 69. Plus--we also lost Ken Osmond, who played "Eddie Haskell" on Leave it to Beaver", back when tEE-vEE was just a vast wasteland, and not a post-cataclysmic hell-hole,like it is, now. Yup. That lovely Dutch Colonial-style home in Amityville on Lawnguyland is stigmatized, to this very day. They(various owners) remodeled it a bit, and changed out those triangle-shaped windows on the top floor, to square ones. Even changed the address. Ha--You can run, but you can't hide! It's still there, for oddballs to satisfy their perverse curiosity, and drive by or even stop and take a photo. Yup. Maybe if I get time, someday.......Hope that helps you some. Thankk Mee.

Y'know--if'd been on that jury, I figure I'da voted to acquit, as well. See--the defendant(Lizzy) and also her sister were over 30, had not found a man & left home. The odds were now stacked against them, and THEN---they found themselves up against a scheming, avaricious step-mother, who posed a serious threat to their financial well-being! What started out prob'ly as a little spat over the last slice o' bacon, ended up with a hatchet being applied to the stepmom. Then, they had to finish off the Daddy, too. Or, maybe the other way around. I forget. But, yeah---she was notorious and obviously, still is. Though, there's prolly quite a few of you young uns who haven't heard the story. It's been on tEE-vEE, I'm sure. Way up north,in Southern I-wah, they have The Villisca Axe Murder House. I've visited it, met the curator/owner, & toured the place. Yup. He bought it cheap, and reverse-restored it to an as-then period piece. No plumbing,no 'lectricity. It rents for weekend stays, too. Pretty remarkable, even if the place had not been the scene of the 1912 bludgeoning deaths of 6 children and two adults, as-yet unsolved! People could only speculate on a motive. But guess what?---I read a NF book a year or two ago called: "The Man From The Train", which chronicles a series--or several series--of "ax murders" in that time period, all unsolved. Yup. See--the common denominators were that they were home invasions, late at night, in rural communities located along RR lines. After I read the book, I emailed the author an update of a factoid that has become known since the publication of his book, which he acknowledged. . But, yeah--there is a now-retired Perfessor from that town in I-wah where they served the "breakfast pizza" that time I visited, who is pretty much an expert on the case. Yup. Dr Epperly. Hope that helps you some. Thankk Mee.

Okay---Let me Putin things in perspective---major price increases in the cost of tuition at MIT and the fee for taking the ACT,make me long for the GOOD OLD DAYS during the border war that Britain & it's Big Dumb Brother escalated into the conflict now known as WW2! Yup. Russia was then our buddy, our amigo, our Ally, in a united front against Germany (& the Empire of Japan), who now makes those delightful VWs that some people even have more than one of!! Or 'Cedes's and Porches! Yup. The Good old days, just like on Tee-Vee! Kind of like a tag-teammatch on perfessional wrasslin' .You can relive those days on youtube, and watch the old episodes of Combat!, starring Vic Morrow & Rick Jason. and Selig Seligman as Producer. Yup. Quote: The only thing we have to fear........

I forgot to mention something VERY interesting I learned, several years ago. See---back around 1914-15 or so, the Czar needed some nice, new Mosin-Nagants, so his troops could parade around in front of his palaces. Well, he placed an order with U.S. arms makers Remington & also Westinghouse, for a whole bunch of them. A whole bunch. Well, they got them made, and ready to ship, but then there was a prollem. What happened was---some "insurrectionists" overthrew the Czarist gummint, and since he was the one paying, well---they stopped paying for them. This presented a BIG prollem for Remington & Westinghouse, but what happened was a bailout of sorts in which the US gummint took delivery on the rifles, and used them for various purposes, such as training. Yup. One issue was--those rifles used Ammo distinctly Russian-sized. But, they made ammo for them, here. Plus, the Gummmint resold a bunch of them to a U.S. company that modified them to use 30.06, like good old' USA Army rifles, and resold them to John Q. Public. Yup. So, a Remington or Westinghouse Mosin is a collector piece. Yup. Hope you enjoyed that factoid. ThankMee.

Okay---Here's some local news, about so-called entertainment. At the old, restored mOO-vEE theater, which is primarily a small venue for live music, they've booked a dude named Eric Gales. Well,in the ad copy,it has a quote of Joe Bonamassa saying that Gales is one ofthe greatest guitar-players alive. An endorsement that is pretty lukewarm, coming from ol' Joe. Ha. Also, at the cities largest venue, they've booked a guy named Travis Tritt, and I can tell you that he is one of THE most annoying country singers around. Evidently, the promoters are just sure they can fill the arena with idiots who want to listen to crap like that. I don't wanna debate you kids about this subject, either. Okay----here's your assignment: go on you tube and listen to The Brooklyn Duo featuring the Dover Quartet covering Imogen Heaps' "Hide and Seek". They prolly won't be coming to this town; they're not corny & stupid enough to rate, here. Only ultra-stupid rates, here. Hope that helps you some. Thankk Mee.

Okay---tell you what---talk is cheap. Yup. I see some of you kids are saying yadayadayadayadayadayada....etc.etc.etc., expressing your deepest heartfelt concern for the people of the sovereign state of Ukraine. But guess what? You're what they call: virtue signaling. Yup. Lemme tell ya something: My Grandfather's cousin---one of them---was a farm boy in North Dakota, okay? Well, later on in the 1930's, he traveled to Spain to join one of the factions in the Spanish Civil War! Yup. He wasn't "virtual signaling", like you kids! He wasn't a Spanish national, he had no dog in the fight, they weren't his monkeys or his circus. Ha. But, he apparently had a strong opinion for a cause, and he joined up to play an active part! True story. Yup. My suggestion is, put up,or shut up! Go fight as a partisan on behalf of Ukraine, or shut up! How many more fxxxkin threads are you going to start up on this subject? Hope that helps you some. ThankkMee.

Okay---After I returned from my 'pointment, today, I hadda make a run to some gummmint offices to get two shelves I purchased. Well,it was about a 18-mile round trip, to a commercial-light industrial area. Besides auto repair shops and other alleged property-value lowering activities, there is alsoa night club there that has music shows. It's not one that has stupidly-high ticket prices, because they have journeyman music acts, but not as-seen on tEE-vEE wellknown. See? Anyway, this trip required the use of my 77 GMC 2500, which is perfessional grade. Ha. I lost the gas cap I just bought for it, last fall! Dang. See--I acquired the GMC in 2005,for $200. The engine was disassembled, and in the bed, and I don't know where the transmission was. There were two hub caps missing, but they were recovered from one of the previous owners. The tilt steering column was very wobbly, too. Then, the GMC sat out backfor a coupla years, untilI decided to use the engine/transmission out of another pickup I've had since 1979,that had been sitting since 1991. Yup. So,I put the GMC in the driveway, pulled the engine/trans out of the other truck, and dropped it in the GMC. See? I also changed out the rear bumper and then put one o' those "brush guards" on the front. Those came fromthe wreckin' yard. I pulled the tilt column, and put it in storage, but later fixed it. But,I used two old columns I had--non-tilt--to make a usable one for the GMC. Yup. I've had todosome other repairs, over the years---put a pieced-together exhaust system out of wreckin'yard parts on it. And Stuff. I used a set of tires I had since year 2002 on it,but they became severely cracked in the sidewalls, so I got another whole set on Ford Rims from the wreckin' yard. Yup. Anyway--it runs. So,I traveled tothe south end of town, and picked upthe shelving. Oh--the motor and trans. Yes--the motor is one I pieced together back in 1980-81 outof salvaged parts. It even has the cylinder heads from a 1967 283, that had had a valve regrind not too long before I acquired them. But, it runs. The transmission is one I got back in 1985, for $50, out of a wrecked 1973 Caprice. The story was that it had been overhauled, justprior to the wreck, and I believe it. Isn't that amazing? Hope that helps you kids, some. Thank Mee.

R/R--TYVM for the input on this. I wasn't even aware of any taboos regarding reposting of F-bookphotos, though of course one wants to do so with courtesy and tact. Something I know very little about. Yup. Plus, the Lady whose photo I posted took a photo of littlebittymee, thoughshe asked permission, she did not show me the end result. Maybe she will post it on her FB. Ha. But anyway. Okay---I wanted to show you kids a nice, new, hi-tech bike I might buy. It will be a "game-changer" for littlebittymee, since the bike not only has three wheels and a VERY comfterbal seat, but has an electric motor,as well. See---Zurra roads are hilly and full of curves, so this will help me, since I am a WLS victim. WLS, or "weak legs syndrome" is inherited, from too much tEE-vEE and yummy restaurant meals, when you grew up. So, it's your folkses' fault, basically. But anyway yah. Take a look. 4370

YVW, HapSF! I would check the price point on a nice new Electric Hilltopper DeSoto Bike, but I get skeered when I even THINK about spending any money! Yup. Cat Food is super-expensive, these days, and I find bare shelves when I try to purchase canned cat food. It may just be cheaper to feed them canned tuna, instead. Yup. So, for now, I'll be sticking with my Schwinn-Packard Bike that I bought new, back in 1986. Trouble is---it is totally self-powered, and only has two wheels! Yup. But, it has a VERY comfterbal seat--a dealer-take-off(DTO) from a nice, new wimmins' LIV bike,by Giant. Here's a photo of it, after I put on a used fork off a 80's TREK, then spray-bombed it to touch 'er up. I had to look and look and look for that particular fork; paid a fortune for it, and STILL had to cut the rack mounting bosses off the old fork & weld them onto the replacement(used) Trek fork. Really--it is a Tange-brand fork, and the Trek Tange fork is actually lighter than the Schwinn Tange fork.. But, that's okay. It functions fine. Hope that helps you some. Thankk Mee.4371

4375Okay---For your Viewing pleasure---the motor in my 1977 GMC Professional Grade Truck. I just overhauled it in 1981, so you know it runs good! Yup. Notice the 283 head, with no bolt boss for the PS bracket. Oh,well. No prollem. ThankkMee.4372The heads were off a 67 Chevy engine, in a car that a young boy rolled. He sold the engine to another boy, who used it in a 64 Chevy. The heads had had a valve grind, but it still used a LOT of oil. Anyway, the boy traded the heads to mee, and I used them on my refurbished 350 c.i. pickup engine. The "boy" I obtained them fromis a F-book friend, almost aged 60. Yup. I axed him the other day---got any more o' them heads to sell? BTW,I also have the item I traded him, back & on another vehicle. It was an intake manifold that I bought new in 1972. It changed hands at least twice, before I got it back, again.

R/R---I fixed it, so it shows, now. That there's a damn good motor, buddy! Yup. Okay---apparently, sum o' you kids haven't resolved the current issue with Poo-tin and ol' U-kraine. You have a NEED to sympathize with somebody--anybody. Except littlebittymee, of course. Ha. Gotcha. Anyhow, the way I see itis pretty cut and dried, if you think about it logically. I've pointed this out, before, but I'll recap & review. Okay--Russia & the Geographical location known as Ukraine are like summa these young couples you see, nowadays. Break up, and make up, with squabbles & ex partes and Dom. Ass. charges, in between. Pretty much on a regular basis for at least a 1000 years, they've had go-arounds. At least one time, the boundaries of the Ukraine Empire made it a HUGE nation! But,seen in the context of some libbie in Portland, who couldn'tve located Ukraine on a map until last month, it's all something new. Yup. Okay---Poo-tins' justification. It's like: A young druggie is out partying, and drives through a traffic signal. He gets pulled over, but has felony warrants outstanding, and so do his compadres in the car. So, lone cop approaches the car, hand on his gun. But, the brave young kid, high on whatever, takes a chance and shoves the cop! Well, Mr cop shoots the kid, dead. Next thing you know, Libs are in the street, chanting that "Running a Stop sign is NOT a Capital Crime!!!" They have gaps in their line of reasoning, for sure. They habitually feel sorry for the perceived underdog, every time. See? Well, Ukraine has been aligning itself with western Europe for a number of years. They've even gone so far as to bribe one of the US's VERY prominent "leaders", evidently. No doubt in my mind Poo-tin, who leads a nation that also---historically--has had to deal with security threats from other empires in Europe, throughout the last 1000+ years, has tried negotiating with Ukraines' wayward leader. Yup. So, what has happened is, in order to rein in his cheatin' neighbor, he's had to apply some military force, so they'll get the message. See? Now, if I was a patridiotic American neocon with a degree from Dish Network Schoolof Strategic Studies,of course I'd advocate American military intervention--against either side, it wouldn't matter. Just do it. . We Rule The World, Don't We? But, really, seriously---since those Russians were our "Allies" backin WW2(that we and those English caused), we should simply lend the Russians some B-52's and and an ample supply o' surplus Bunker Busters. That'd get it over, end the conflict, restore the detente' and We The People could go back to our regularly-scheduled programming of scandals & stuff. . See--(I'm not done yet)Poo-tins' Troops are prolly using obsolete, surplus weaponry, left over from their last futile effort to conquer a 9th century backwater, Afghanistan, which resulted in 10 years wasted. Yup. I bet they've pulled some cheap, moldy old North-Korean-made SCUD missiles out of deep storage, to use, and at least half of them are duds. Prolly, more'n one has gone through the window of a Ukraine schoolhouse, and barely managed to knock the eraser off the chalkboard. Yup. So,yeah---it's pathetic, and embarassing. That's why the logical thing would be to make a lend-lease deal of some of our stockpile of nearly-obsolete weaponry to our Ally, Russia. We can always get more, from the military-industrial complex. Yup. Then, Poo-tin can win, save face, and of course--Ukraine will get over it, at least for awhile. Till the next periodic tussle. See? Pretty simple, if you think about it. Hope that helps you some. Thankk Mee.

Okay---here's another good motor,in the back o' my 77 GMC perfessional-grade Truck. I went to the self-service wreckin' yard on a 50%-off day, and pulled 'er out of a 95 Chevy 4x4 that had been wrecked HARD. Okay---this was several years ago, but even so, a 95 woulda been over 20 years old. But see--it showed just 96k miles on a 7-digit odometer AND someone evidently had purchased the seat out of this drastically wrecked vehicle, meaning it probably was in good shape. Maybe it is stigmatized, but in good shape. Anyway, as soon as I got er in the driveway,I conducted a compression test on it and of course--oiled up the cylinders. Checked out fine. But guess what? I still havent used this motor, but I prolly will. Yup. See---95 was the last year for the TBI 350, which some people regard as unworthy. But, not littlebittymee. Hope that helps you some. Okay---just went on EBay, where I buy everything except cat food, dogg food, and wood pellets. Anyway---they had two listings for old,1986 Packard Bikes, same model as mine. Only--these hadn't been tampered with, like mine. They still have the original, crap Huret derailleur and doo-doo Weinmann weels and oem seats. Downtube shifters, too. Ha. Only 6 speed, too. Okay---I've met Victoria Moran. That said--I did not interact with her in any way; I was just in the same place, at the same time, as she. I forget zactly what she said. But yeah---since you kids like seeing some motors, here's part o' one of myprojects-still-in-process. It kind of got put off to the side, for awhile, but I'm going to move it forward, now. What it is, is a motor I happened across, almost by accident. See--on Criaglist, there was a guy trying to reduce clutter/raise cash for another project,so he was selling some things. What I went cleeeer down to Ozarks on a VERY hazardous back road for was a nice, used pair of Headlight Bezels that fit 1980 Chevy/GMC with the Chrome Grill option. That means the lights were rectangular. But, that's one thing. He said he got themoff a truck he had parted out, for His Chevypickup of about the same vintage. It was a 4 x4 that he'd installed a 7.4 engine in, which was not an option then. Then, he showed me a partial engine assembly on an engine stand, and some cylinder heads that he'd taken off his pickup. He was kinda vague, but I reasoned what he had done istaken the heads off the engine on the stand(which closer inspection revealed had been COMPLETELY rebuilt, not long before, and then run. What it was/is, is a 366 c.i. medium duty Chevy engine that was used for 25+ years in buses, farm trucks, van-bodied trucks, etc. It used cyl heads that would fit on a 7.4, but with smaller cc Combustion chambers, would raise the CR significantly. So, that's what he did. He sold me the heads he removed from his 7.4, which were in good shape; and the 366 short block that had been COMPLETELY rebuilt,in the not-too-distant past. It had been rebored to .040, for 377 CI., and an older, square-bore 366 intake he had cluttering things up, for $300 plus I traded him an old,old 396 square-flange iron intake. I drove the 77 GMC perfessional-grade truck down there, to haul the parts back, the next day. Oh--plus the Bezels for $25. Yup. Well, I had the 7.4 heads shaved by nearly .090, and had the seats touched up, reassembled them, and wrapped them in saran wrap. I've got a 7.4 project I can use them on, later. Now, we're getting to the good part--One day on CL, there was a guy offering some newer-style 7.4(90-up)heads for sale. See---I researched it, and 366/7.4, 90-up heads, will interchange. Same small chambers, everything. Okay--he wanted $300, but see---they had been stored with water sitting in a couple of the ports, which I pointed out. So, I offered $100, which he accepted. No doubt, he was under pressure to declutter, at home. Ya spose? Anyway, I disassembled those heads to inspect, and took them to a machinist, and he ground the seats and valves for $125,and I took themhome and reassembled them, and wrapped emin saran wrap. So, now I'm gonna put that 366 bus engine together, and use it in my 1978 Chevy 1-ton. Yup. The transmission case was cracked in it, and the 350engine was very(xxx4) tired. I happened to be going through the wreckin' yard, and found a chevy van that had two unusual things: Someone had replaced the engine with a carbureted L03 5.7, which is essentially the same as a TBI 5.7, but with a carb. They made those only a couple years, for certain vehicles, like Camaros & police cars. The 350 engine was shot, but I took the intake manifold and also the transmission that evidently had been rehauled by a local transmission shop, not long before the van engine went bad. The vanlicense plates had expired at least 15 years, before. Anyway---the trans is the truck version of the TH400, and so I grabbed it for $100. Pulled it myself. Yup. Deal. Pulled the pan, and it looks good, inside. So, that's the setup I'mgonna use,on my 1-ton 2wd project. If you kids don't hear from me very often,it's cause I'mbusy on that. One thing---and take notes, because it will be on the exam---disassembled vehicles take up more space than whole vehicles. See? Hope that helps you some. Thankk Mee.

Ok, I was reading you kidses' discussion about driving somewhere, for something to "do". But yeah---I got to thinking about back in 2013 0r 14, before I really cut down on car jocking. But, what I did was this--Drove just about 1000 miles in one day. It was a round-trip from my hillbilly shack. See---I had my project, several--that needed two new fenders & 4 inner fenders. These are pretty good-sized. I buy them out of K.C. Then, I had my Maverick, that needed a windshield. There was a wreckin' yard waaaaay up north, namely Britt, Iwah, that had one, pretty cheap & already out. It was old inventory; the company had changed hands, and they were glad to get a buyer to take it. Okay---there was a 1988 Trek 1000, 56 cm(my size) for sale on EBay. So, naturally--I bought it. Ha. The thought was, to use it on an indoor trainer. So, what I did was my old game plan---rented a Chevy 'Pala, picked it up before 10 pm closing time. Rode my bicycle to the airport to get it, so I wouldn't have to pay parking. Got the 'pala home, and in the driveway by flashlight, pulled the rear seat and the passengers side seats, and put them in my garage. Then, put some large scraps of foam rubber I keep, and a couple moving blankets in the car. Okay---got up and left prolly around oh, 3 AM(?),and left for Dez Moines, to pick up the bike. Got there in the AM,and loaded the bike. Then, onto I-35 to Britt, and picked up the windshield. Stopped in a I-wah place known as "Agony" to go through the drive-up. Yup. Gassed up at a couple places. Then, on to Kansas City & got there in the late afternoon. This is where it got tricky, because rush hour was beginning, and the company I buy fenders from had moved, so yeah, it took a bit of luck to get there just-in-time. But, I spent prolly 45 minutes jockeying everything around to fit all that stuff into the 4-door 'pala, but I got it. Then, headed back home. Got home, and unloaded everything in the front yard, put the seats back in the 'pala, topped it off with gas, and got 'er back to the airport, before they closed, and biked home. At that point in time, you could rent a nice NEW car, pretty cheap. It also saved putting 1000 miles on my ittybitty modest economy car. Yup. But, yeah-- I don't do that stuff too often, any more. Too much of a challenge. Hope that helps you some. Thankk Mee.

Okay---stayed up late, reading a book about the Fedex plane hijack attempt over Ark, that happened in the 90's., and listening to youtubers discussing electronic vacuum tubes, which as you know have been obsolete for decades, except in microwave ovens and some peripheral high-end uses. Yup. But yeah----I was waiting for an auction to close. I prevailed, and guess what I'm adding to my collection of really cool stuff? Give up? Okay--I'll tell you: it is 40(quantity) used fluorescent light fixtures. These are the 4-bulb(T-8) kind, like they use in offices. I think they were being replaced with the latest thing---LED's. Some of You kids always have to have the latest technology. You know who you are. Anyway, I won't use these lights full-time; they are going into Sloppy's Body & Machine Shop, which is almost always closed, except when I wish to work on my property-value-lowering, unsightly eyesores, rescued from the wreckin' yard. Yeah, this will be greaat to have plenty of light. That way, when I lose a tool, I can find it easier. Now,I gotta finish up my utility trailer,so I can go take delivery. Yup.

No, R/R; It is definitely NOT. It "would lower property values" too much! See-- I LOVE paying higher prop taxes! We just got a nice, new $18 million-dollar grade school for The Kids! We just had a MAJOR remodel at the High School! NOTHING is too good for The Kids! Plus---old,junk cars that consumers have "driven the wheels off of" and discarded, are unsightly eyesores, as well! Ha. But, THE most highly-valued home in the 'hood(cordin' to assessors records) has had an old, unsightly 56 DeSotta, sitting next to a '52 Plymouth & a 1950 Cadallack & the cab of a 1940's Studdabaker out front, for nearly 10 years, now! They are at the intersection, where literally DOZENS, maybe hundreds, of cars pass by daily, on their way to the new subdivisions filled with tidy & neat McMansions! Also, nearby at one of the stigmatized houses, the occupant has a tradition of mowing his yard once a year! Usually in July! How do you like that? But, thanks for asking. Yup.

Okay--I'm busy, trying to get my trailer finished up, and my nice new gummmint surplus shelves put away, and then, make a trip out bythe Highway Patrol office to the gummmint place to pick up my 40 fluorescent light troffers. Then, get home and unload 'em & store 'em. Then, hook 'em up,so I can see to find my "stuff", when I can't find it. See? I already HAVE about twenty lights that I picked up, here and there and rehabbed with electronic ballasts & T8 bulbs. So far, I've used several, and it REALLY makes a BIG difference. So,yeah---I've got a use use for 'em. Sure do. That's why I have NO time for moooveees,tEEE-vEEE, drive-n-eat restaurant meals, trips to places to see rock formations, or $$$ to get tickkicks to see bassabaw, foobaw games or Rock Idols, just for something to "do". I keep hammering home the message, in the hopes everyone will get it. See? Hope that helps you some. ThankkMee.

I know some of the led bulbs work with the older fixtures, if you remove the ballasts.
If you already have the ballasts, it is one thing, but if your having to buy them and the bulbs, you might compare them.
Our electrician brought a box of those LED's and as ballasts fail, that is what we are doing.

But Yeah---I bought these sight-unseen, except for a photo of them bundled up on pallets. I only know they use T-8's because another bidder had asked. What voltage the ballasts need is unknown, but hopefully they are 120v or dual voltage 120/277. But, for my purposes(limited use) ,i will go with t-8 fluorescent. If they need 120v ballasts, well---for what I paid, i can afford to do that. It would be more work, but I did that to all 20 of the junked light troffers I bought before, that had formely used T 12's. Wish mee luck.

Okay---I fell asleep on the davenport sofa couch, last evening, when I still had some unfinished tasks. After buying the two pallets of lights, I decided to move the School-surplus, satin-black, 6' H x 3 1/2'W x 18" D double-walled metal bookshelf from storage, and into the house. But see--I left it sitting out front, on the sidewalk, when I knew a storm was in the forecast. I didn't want it to get blown over & damaged; it's a perfessional-grade piece in excellent condition, that prolly cost the school upwards of $500. Also,I had left my elderly & grumpy cat outside, because she refused to go inside earlier in the evening. But, she was out on the porch in the cat bed, and was ready to go in. I put her in the cat carrier inside, so the young cats would not get in her face, where she stayed until this morning. Okay--I got the two-wheeler, and moved the case up the steps and inside, after clearing out a spot for it. Yup. This will be great, and help me organize even more and reduce clutter. Okay--I know you kids are sitting there, anxiously awaiting an update on the situation with my various projects--specifically my 2 pallets of used, gummmint-surplus obsolete fluorescent lights. Well, the weather cleared up temporarily. But, today it is too windy to work on my burn piles, and tomorrow rain (again) is in the forecast! But yesterday was fair, and in mid-afternoon, I pulled the trailer over to the place where the lights were, to pick them up. Okay--I had used the trailer winch battery in the 77 GMC, because I used the (newer) GMC battery in the cars I needed to mow around. See? I suspected the winch battery might be getting a little tired,l ast time I used the winch, and guess what? I left the lights on for just 20 minutes by mistake, and when I went to start it after we loaded the lights---it would not crank. This in no way due to the fact that it is a 45 year old pickup. It is perfessional grade(tEE-vEE said so), and besides---I just refurbished the engine with used parts from the wreckin' yard & new parts from JC Whitney in 1981. So, it is a damn good motor, buddy. I thought(briefly) about putting a turbocharger on it, to keep ahead o' the young whippersnappers getting in their miles on the super slab, but I quickly decided against it. Let 'em pass me, in a hurry on their way to nowhere in particular, for something to "do". Ha. So--yeah it is the battery. But, it still works---just doesn't last when you leave the lights on for 20 minutes! Ha. The guy at the gubbmint shed used a nice, new HD gubbmint truck to give the battery a boost, and I was on my way home. When I got back to the ranch, I found that the rear pallet load was leaning badly, due to a defective wood pallet. Lucky all the lights didn't fall off in the street! Ha. The two lights on the bottom had the diffusers broken, and one or two bulbs. You kids can call me "FeDex" from now on. Ha. So, now, I'm unloading & inspecting, and storing the lights on the nice surplus salvaged plastic pallets I purchased from those people who are lowering property values over by the park. Yup. And yeah---the good news is that the light ballasts are 120v. Hope that helps you some. Thankk Mee.

Okay---I think you kids deserve a fair and honest consumer alert warning about littlebittymee. See---what the deal is, is that I am a VERY(xxxxx4) DISreputable Catt Breeder. Yup. Like---for instance, one of my clever scams was to get a male & female cat(s) offa the local pet forum. There is an explicit warning that you should ONLY give your cat to nice, church-going,lawn-mowing people who have cute little kids and drive a nice new family car. Yup. Not some old coot, like Mee, that drives a 15-year-old-economy car from the wreckin' yard. They may have ill intentions, based on that profile. Yup. Anyway, I got my breeding pair, FREE, w/no papers, no pedigree, no nothing. Nope. And then, I procrastinated about getting them "fixed", so that by the time I did, the little female was expecting. And I mean she was and is a small kitty, and so is the cat daddy. She, was indoor catt, and still is, so we know who the daddyis. Anyway, she had an ittybitty litter of just 3. Yup. While they were nursing, I pretty much kept them in a large dog crate, inside, and it was cute how they'd jump onto my chest and cling to mee, when I'd open the crate to clean it, change the water and replenish the food. Well, their mom was a VERY good mommy, and even after I let the kittens start roaming around the house, she'd still nurse and clean them. It took her prolly 3-4 months for her to fully wean them! It may've fostered dependency, as they are still a close-knit family. Although--at first---the cat Daddy did not like his offspring and showed no interest in them. He has, however, become fond of them. But yeah----when I got ready to sell 'em to make a quick, easy, ill-gotten Buck---I set the price for the kittens at $10k each! Yup. You get what you pay for, and these are cham-peen show cats! See---I held a littlebitty cat show, right here at home, and they all won first place ribbbons in their division, PLUS the Grand Sweepstakes! Didn't have to get out and DRIVE 1000 miles, each way, to a "REAL" cat show, either! So yeah--- Talk about Prestige! Envy Mee, Okay? But, so far, no one has come forward with cold, hard cash. So, I'll just keep 'em, for all I care! Ha. They like to purr, and are good company. Hope that helps you some. Thankk mee.

Very good, LBB. Were they all subsequently fixed?Okay--thanks for axing mee that quession. I cannot just give a simple "yes"or "no" answer to such an important subject. Nope. A rough chronology of events RE: Fixing those particular cats is in order. See? Well, I'd had Fuzzy, my dark gray male cat for about 7-8 months, when in late July, 2020, I took him to the clinic I had been using for 30 years. That was oh--$65, I think. So, I next planned to get the tiny fem cat spayed, but guess what? By the time my appointment came around & I took her in, she was showing. This was in early Sept 2020. The vet checked her records, and said yes, it times out right and just like on Maury Povich---"Hee beez Da Daddy!". So yeah, I called her Teen Mom, and she gave birth in late Sept. She just had 3; the two males, one of which was noticeably larger & a classic cream tabby and the runt, a dark gray w/cream specks girl. The other male is cream striped Tabby. The mom is a silver-gray tabby with faint markings and pea-green eyes. The daddy has pea-green eyes, too. So does the little female, BUT the boys both have amber eyes. Yup. So, the quote for the day is from that mOO-vEE, Forrest Gump, but I paraphrase/rephrase it by saying: A litter o' cats is like a box o' choclits; you never know what you're gonna get! Ha. But yeah. The kittens are over 1 1/2 now, and they are still growing. The female is a tomboy, I spose due to her upbring with two large male catts. Anyway, in about March of 2021,I took the Teen Mom & her Girlbaby in,and got 'em "spaded". Yup. What happened was, my 30-year vet begged off the surgeries, saying she's just had surgery on her hands for carpal tunnel! She suggested I take them downtown to the low-cost neuter spay clinic, but they were booked up, quite aways ahead. Well, there's a vet clinic 30 miles from me that animal people use because it's no frills/low cost. So, I made the appointment with them, and got mom & baby done at the same time. I think the bill was $175,comparable to the Spay Clinic downtown. So, that left the two boys, and they were nice kitty boys---very, very nice---about 95% of the time. Ha. But then---emergency,emergency,emergency---I got a call that a cat had been hanging out at a motel over here for a few days, with traffic that was murder, & no one had come around looking for her; would I be willing to take her in & hang onto her, for her safety? So, yeah--I went over there at midnight, and got the kitty. The next few days, I went over that way, and behind the Mo-tel & Aldi's are two low-end apt plexes. well, I drove around in the lots, looking for lost cat signs, which I did not see, but I did see several vacant apartments with piles of household items stacked up at the curb, as though they'd moved in a hurry. So watched the pet lost & found, and the mo-tel clerk had a "found" ad on there,w/my number, but no one claimed her or reported a cat with that description missing. See? So,I had two Toms & the cat I just got coming into heat. Sooooo, I kept everyone separate, by dog-crating them in shifts, which was not easy, because the boys hated being crated, and howled and yowled, non-stop, until they would take a nap. Okay--I decided to call and see who I could get in, and I got the girl scheduled(or so I thought)with the clinic 30 miles away. That was the soonest. So, two weeks later,I drove her over there, and guess what? The appointment setter had her scheduled for just an ultrasound exam, by mistake. No spay, today, jose'. So, I skipped that, and drove her back to town, and called around, because the low-cost clinic was temporarily closed for two weeks! Yup. Apparently, the vet community has gotten a bad case of Yuppie-itis. Typical scenario--a nice, spacious, medical-grade facility on a major thoroughfare. Ceramic tile, stainless-steel, and glass. You walk in, and there are three receptionists, and no other clients, okay? I'm sorry sir, but the Doctor is booked ahead two months(he only does n-s surgeries on the 3rd Thursday of every-other month, apparently),and it'll run $350,plus The Tests, which the Doctor would prefer that your pet have. Plus, vaccinations. He ONLY performs surgeries on pets that are up-to-date on Vaccinations. Yup. So, that'll be $600. Either that, or they aren't taking any new patients. Okay--25 years ago, the Humane Society had a list of at least two dozen participating vets that would N-Sp on a day or two notice for between $25-50,depending on what you had. Cash only. See? But, not any more; those days are gone, what with the cost of country club dues and private planes and weekend getaway homes being what it is. So, anyway--I finally got the new girl done after the N-S low cost clinic re-opened; Then, I rescheduled at the clinic 30 miles away, to get the boys fixed at the same time. The outcome of that, finally, was a more orderly & peaceful existence, around here. But, I do have extra cats, and they are still growing and consume a lot of food. Right now, there seem to be shortages, especially of canned food. But, I'm economizing on certain other things, which has helped. Hope that helps you some. ThankkMee.

Okay----I know you kids all share a common interest in buying old fixer-upper type houses, and after many hours of watching your contractors toil, seeing your dream come to fruition. Well, you know---you kids missed out on a REAL DEAL; a home sale in quaint and historic Skidmore, Zurra. Yup. The property I speak of in particular was the home of a young woman who was expecting her first child. Yup. Anyway, she was a reputable breeder of some kind of toy yapperhunds or whatever, who participated in a net forum of other reputable Yapperhund breeders & fanatics. Anyway, this one gal from the next state wanted a baby sooooo bad---a REAL baby--not a baby Yapperhund, so she made a trip to Skidmore to the young womans house under the pretext of acquiring a yapperhund puppy. But instead, she strangled her & removed the late-term unborn child, who survives, to this day!! Amay-zeen & Ahhh-summm. I read a really good book about the story, and how the County Sheriff and his crew did some REAL detective work, tracking the perp to her home in Ks., and recovering the infant. Anyway, after nearly two decades(2020), the perp was "put to sleep" in Fed Prison, and VERY shortly before Merciful Joe was sworn in. That way, he couldn't pardon her and offer her a cabinet post or whatever. But, yeah---here's the house, and it's stigmatized, for sure. There are net directions to the place, if you kids ever want to drive by. Looks to me as though it's had some updating of the front porch, which used to sag, badly. Also, Historic Skidmore is also the scene of the murder of Ken Rex McElroy, in full view of many witnesses. But, no one came forward to testify, as Ken was the town bully, a thief, & very unpopular. Yup. Both cases were the subject of books, mooo-vvveees, and other media coverage. So, you might like living there. Hope that helps you kids some. ThankkMee.4423

Okay---TYVM for the VERY perfessional MH diagnosis, TT! I like to research plane crashes, too! Did you kids know that Tenerife, a popular tourist destination in the Canary Islands, holds the distinction of being the site of THE worst aviation disaster in history? Plus, another incident that is also another of the worst, in terms of fatalities! Yup. Anyway---another serious condition that afflicted me was taking old, junked bicycles, and of course--wasting time and money COMPLETELY refurbishing them, when I could have utilized the time and money resources on vacation trips, restaurant meals, event tickets, riding mowers and of course--Church Membership! But no, due to a serious mental condition, I redid this old, junked, 1987-model self-powered bike. It had sat out back, cluttering things up, since 2005. How do you like that? Hope that helps you kids some. 442844294430

Okay---this is VERY scary. Aloha Flight 243, back in 1988, experienced an in-flight structural failure of the aircraft, while en route to Honolulu. The plane landed safely, and though all 99 passengers and most crew members survived, 1 flight attendant was swept away, and never found. One passenger said in a later interview that they noticed some small cracks in the exterior of the plane,as they were boarding, but decided not to report it. How do you like that? 4431

I remember that all too well. Over at in laws parents house, and their father worked for the FAA and said what the cause was, when it happened. Said still had to wait for the investigation, but not much could cause that.

Well, what I read was, that this was a big, bulky Boeing airliner, that had been used for inter-island transport in Hawaii. It had racked up years of short-distance flights, with a far greater % of take-offs and landings per air mile traveled, than your typical Boeing. Kind of like---taxicab use---starting and stopping--- is very hard on a car vs highway miles, traveling at a continuous speed. Only, it was the stresses of takeoffs and landings that evidently caused metal fatigue and cracking on the fuselage, till it finally tore away, in mid-flight! That is what the investigators concluded. But you know what? There may be another cause: Maybe it is just sheer BAD LUCK to travel to Hawaii, just for something to "do". Yup. So, why take a chance? Way I figure. Hope that helps you some. Thankk Mee.

Let's compromise---I'll ONLY discuss crash sites & stigmatized properties--which are my interest area---rather than the incidents, themselves. See? Plus, I'll try and limit it to every once in awhile. After all, some people ARE interested in such things. Proof is, there must be SOMEONE funding all the media that presents it! Well, isn't there? I, of all people, can't be expected to sit quietly, just exchanging recipes, photos of the grandkids, and discussing my medical issues! Okay---Got some good news. You kids will like it, I'm sure. At the fairgrounds this coming weekend, guess what they are having? Nooooo,it's not a livestock show or rodeo. Nope. It's not some 80-year old Rock Idol, either. Nope. What is is, is the annual Friends Of The Lirrrarrary Book Sale. It lasts 3 or 4 days! Well, the first day is like--full price or whatever, for people with privilege, but then the prices decrease each day until the last day when---are you ready--you can get a grocery sack of books for only $5!!! 5!! Yup. But see---what my strategy will be is to let the "Cool People" who read novels and other trash go in there, and cherry-pick all the novels and fiction. And then---near the end of the sale, I will swoop in there and get books about stuff---very important TRUE stuff---that I like to read about. See? What do you think of that? Right now, I'm going to see if I can borrow the Aldi's sack I bought for my catts, to use at the book sale, if the lirrrereary doesn't provide them. Hope that helps you some. Thankk Mee.

Wow, so I must finally be considered "cool" because I prefer fiction. I wanted to be cool when I was in HS, and look how long it took me to get here! Good for mee! :laff:

4-29-22, 9:27am
Well, ahem--See, there is a definition of "cool people" that has not yet gotten an entry in Merryam-Webturs. Nope. It does have an entry in the littlebittybobby book of jargon & euphemisms, though. It has more to do with prestige and consumption and doing what "they"(the other normies) do, than anything. Even if it's dumb. Any more--I lump books that boast of making the nyt best-seller list into the same category as academy award winning mooo-veees and emmy award winning teee vee and of course Grammy award winning music. Whats-his-face Kanye has been awarded about as many grammys as anyone alive! Ha. Or Nobel Peace Prizes-- If yer the Presy-dent of some nation or another, and you DON'T invade another country, you might very well be awarded a No-belPeace Prize! Ha. But anyway---if you read what THEY read, why---your one of THEM! You have, what THEY have, you're one of THEM. See? So, yah---don't take it too personally, one way or the other, RR. Not that your not cool, by other standards.. Hope that helps you some. Thankk Mee.

Okay---one other quession---Do I fix 'em up n sell 'em? Well, no. Those bikes are like my littlebittykittens; they are a labor-of-love, and custom-built to suit mee. See--most bikes won't fit most people. Nope. Ya gotta pay extra for "bike fitting", if you are going toride very far. That said, in the early 80's,I bought a new, off the showroom $159 Schwinn Varsity--which was a VERY obsolete design, at the time, and rode it quite a ways. Ha. How I did it,I don't know! I stillhave that bike, and even refurbished it with some upgrades, 8 or 9 years ago. But, I sure don't ride it. Ha. It doesn't fit right. Nope. But,I won't sell it, either. Not right now. I do have a F-book friend who restores 80's mountain bikes for street use, in Dallas, as a post-retirement, for-profit occupation. But, not mee. Bikes, are considered VERY consumeristic & disposable. But, the designers in Japan evidently didn't intend that, initially. Bike components have a high degree of standardization, which allows for repair & upgrades. But, cool people don't care. They want a NEW bike, that looks trendy.
Though the type of bikes I own do have a following among a small group of purists, hot-rodded bikes like mine fill an even smaller niche. At least--around here. At any group ride, I always have the oldest bike. Except one time--maybe 7 years ago--a rider my age who showed up riding an 87 Schwinn Voyager, which is a variation of my Packard bike. But, that guy has other bikes. But yeah---the core group of cyclists are people who don't fool with mechanical stuff, for fun. They are consumers, usually well-paid consumers, who just like to ride. So, they trade-up for NEW,rather than fix-up. So, the demand for used bikes like mine is very minimal. But, here's the saving--I have a customized road bike that fits, with mostly-new components, for waaaay under $1000. See? Hope that helps you some.

Okay----What I did today was continue finding & cleaning and organizing the parts for my 1969 Chevy transmission, that I've had just a few months short of 40 years. Yup---that transmission has just been sitting out back, taking up space, adding to the clutter, for nearly 40 years! It weighs about 90 pounds, too. So, it takes effort to move it around, when you need to. I decided to use it in my 66 Chevelle, years ago. So, prolly two years ago, I disassembled it, just to check it out, and guess what? It is in pretty good shape, but I decided to change out the bearings, seals, and tailshaft bushing, just for good measure. Plus, clean everything up. But,see---I started to reassemble it, but had to switch to another serious project, so the transmission parts all got put in boxes and bags, here in the garage. That's a formula for a failed project,a basketcase job. Yup. But, I finally got everything back to gether, okay? Got a bench cleared off, and parts laid out, and rounding up a few minor bits n pieces n hardware. Yup. A how-to book arrived in the mail, today, As-if, I really need it. Ha. Well, maybe. I figure if I review it this evening and learn just one or two ittybitty useful factoids, that will make it worthwhile. Compared to todays gearboxes--a 69 Chevy 4 speed is VERY simple! I also had purchased a new bearing retainer, and the dealy-bobbers with the springy-things, that help it shift. Plus, a cool shift knob. Yup. Hope that helps you kids. Thankk Mee.

Okay---I was outside, working on one of my projects, and got it to the pre-determined point where I could say: "The Heck with this darned stuff, for the time being!" See---I am waiting on parts to arrive. So, I went in and made myself a Great cup o' coffee, using a coffee imported from Walmart, 2 miles away. Yup. Then, I'm gonna wage more war on vegetation. How does that sound? But, I have to put the floor mats back in my littlebitty compact car from the wreckin' yard, that I restored 5 years ago. That model was one of THE cheapest cars you could buy in America. The other day, the 'surance lady axed mee if it was "customized", because the underwriters needed that information. I lied, and said it had not. BUT---I used the engine/transmission from a 2009 model, that also had the 16" alloy weelz, and I bought those weelz, and put them on mine, which originally had 14" weelz. Plus, the front hd anti-roll bar. Also, the grille insert on these cars was painted body color, and what I did was go to the wreckin' yard and pull one off a car that had a black body colored grille, to swap onto mine. So, mine is Customized, it sure is. Only one like it, AFAIK. Also, I swapped the post covers off a car that had black plastic, onto mine which had grey post covers. And then---the rear spoiler or whatever over the glass on the hatch WAS white; but see---the clear coat started to peel, so I removed the spoiler, sanded it down & painted it semi-gloss black. It all looks better, that way. If that isn't outrageous enough----I acquired another rear bumper from the wreckin' yard, same color as mine(white), but with a large dent in it, for $25. So, I used a heat gun & rubber hammer, and worked the dent out, sanded it all down & repainted it white but then---there is a recessed area on the lower part of the bumper that I thought would look better if I masked it off and painted it semi-gloss black. See? Also, I realized that you can get official Hyundai splash guards for these cars, pretty cheap, di-rect from Hyundai. . They look sporty & really custom. So, I got a set. They are flat black. I haven't put the bumper and splash guards on, yet. Have to get time. But here's the grille job. PLEASE don't tell the underwriter! He will figure that I am a HIGH RISK driver, now, and raise my rates. Yup.4445

Okay----I got to thinking about that day, deep in the bowels of gay Pareee, when Lady Die & her BF Dodie, passed away in a terrible accident. I have read about this incident on various occasions, but I just found one article in which a French Journalist has claimed to have done some research on this same subject & that very same car, the 'Cedes Limo Sedan in which Lady Die had to be extricated, using the jaws o' life. See,one model of the rescue tool has a hydraulic-actuated shear, so you can snip through the roof pillars of a vehicle, just as if you were pruning a Rose bush. So, that's what the crew did. But,anyway---The French journalist reveals that the very same car had been stolen by an escaped convict three years prior, and before he was through with it, it had been totally demolished in a rollover crash. But, guess what? A bodyshop rescued the car from being sent to the wreckin' yard, and repaired it to look like new! Ha. Good Job. But, apparently, this journalist wants us to believe that this was a stigmatized vehicle, that was somehow culpable for her untimely demise! Whaaaat? IIRC, the real factor was that the driver allowed the car to collide with a concrete support in the tunnel at 60-70 mph, and that Die and Dodie were unbelted in the rear of the lengthened limo, and were thrown forward into the divider behind the drivers' seat. That is what caused them mortal internal injuries. Yup. But, leave it to a "journalist" to spin some yarn for gullible people. But, it's interesting. Be nice if they could put the wreck on display next to them other cars, like the Teddy/MaryJo car & The Bonnie/Clyde car,the JFK Linkin' and so on. People would drive from 1000's of miles around to see the exhibit. Especially if you had a restaurant that served good food, like big juicy steaks & yummy Prime Rib or Broasted Chicken. Yup. Okay---You kids are no doubt sitting there, watching Dr Phil & Maury Povich & Steve Wiko & court tEE-vEE shows, to pass the time and also get some credits toward your degree in Abnormal Psychology. I just hate to interrupt your programming day, but it's time for me to discuss the outcome of my recent trip to the Friends O' the Lirrrarrrarry Annual Book Sale at the Fairgrounds. Well, I didn't use the original strategy to get the most books for my buck. No. See---the books they were selling weren't surplus copies from the lirrrarararys' collection, like I had supposed. Nope. I don't know what they do with those--maybe sell them to a wholesale book dealer, or something. But, the books they were offering 4-sell(for sale)apparently were books donated by individuals to the FOL group, to sell. See? Well, I went in there on Friday afternoon, and there were people there shopping for books----mainly fiction---who evidently don't venture outside very much until after dark. I did spot a lovely 30-something as she was leaving with some books, and followed her to her car, because she was parked next to me. I took this as a sign--an omen---that she wanted me to follow her home, so I could find out where she lived. Then, research it further and open a new case file on her in my auction-score school surplus 4-drawer metal file cabinet. Then, I can add more to her dossier as I research her case & find out where she goes to church & stuff. That way, when I show up at her church services, I can strike up a conversation with her about about our common bond---used books. I really don't care if she's already "in a relationship". Ha. Look at Charles Bronson & Jill Ireland, and of course Edde & Liz & Jennie and Mick and Eric & Patti and all the other hollyweirdos! They have the scruples of a cat, and I like cats. Except, when they leave cute little dead bunnies & birds on my doorstep as a token of their esteem for littlebittymee. Ha. There's a bunny, rain-soaked, lying out there right now, that I must see to this afternoon. Anyway, I DID get some books---nonfiction---all four about great leaders. Yup. I'm about halfway through the first one, but had to bookmark it, for a day or two. To be continued. Thank Mee.

Our FOL has a dedicated room at the library with books for sale all the time, paperbacks 50 cents and hardcovers one dollar, and you can fill a tote bag for 5 bucks. They just recently started accepting donations again, and this was their announcement:
The Friends of the Library are asking for donations of gently-used adult hardcover and softcover fiction for the ongoing book sale in the Community Room.
They would also appreciate donations of gently-used children's books.
Please limit donations at this time to only fiction and children's books; we do not have storage space for other genres or media.
Please....clean and newer books only. No tattered pages, bad odors, stains, or dirty covers!
Books may be dropped off at the main circulation desk during business hours. Please do not place donations in the outdoor book drops.
I am careful to meet their exacting specifications when I donate books to them.

Other than that, I don't want to discuss it. Nope. But, to cheer myself up, I'm listening to one of my 500 favorite songs. It's a studio recording by one-hit wonders, which are my favorite kind. Not going to their concerts, don't have all their albums, or T-shirts proclaiming my adoration. Nope. But, yeah---It's the 1978 Disco-Funk "Boogie Oogie Oogie" by Taste of Honey. Yup. Also, I took a couple minutes and wrote an awesome & amay-zeen Americana Song for you kids. I'll have to wait until I have a head cold & sore throat, before I record it. Laryngitis would help, too. I can't play guitar, really, but allI need to do it strum it a few dozen times, slowly, and then enunciate the lyrics. It goes: "My Daddy and his Daddy and his Daddy and his Daddy and his Daddy and his Daddy before himmmmm"(strum a few times) and then: "My Mama and her Mama and her Mama and her Mama and her Mama and her Mama before herrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr." Strum & repeat first and second verse. It's VERY sentimental. Okay---here's another bike, for you. It's strictly Packy-Powered, which I spose makes it severely outmoded, for The Cool People. Yup. I don't know what the top speed is; it doesn't go very fast, but it goes pretty far. It's a 1990 model. The frame is one that the different tubes are glued together. The fork is aluminum, too. See, they used an alloy that is described as "unweldable". That's what I read. It is 3 x9 speed. Yup. It started out with 7 speed, but I changed it out for some large cogs, instead of an electric motor & battery. I installed a VERY compfterbal seat, an almost new dealer take-off from a LIV wimmins bike. So you know it's compfterbal. Those wheels I bought from a young guy who replaced them with some Plastic weelz for cool people. Got 'em pretty cheep, too. But--three years ago, a rear spoke broke, and what I did was re-spoke the entire rear weel with thicker spokes. How do you like that? That bike does fit me pretty well, after changing out the stem & bars & seat. You'll notice that compared to some bikes, the bars seem high, relative to the seat height. Well, that's the way it is. That ol' bike is connected to Outer Space, Via Garmin. Yup. 4461

See---back in the early 60's, '63, maybe---there was Kyu Sakamoto, who had what we all call a one-hit wonder. Yup. He had a song that was informally titled "Sukiyaki", because the Japanese language title was unpronounceable. Or so they said. Anyway, it was a hit---#1 in Norway! Yah. I remember it, though, in the Pacific NW. Then, he kind of just did his career in Japan, until 1985. See---what happened was, he was aboard JAL Flight 123, Bound from Tokyo to Osaka, which experienced a catastrophic structural failure, which caused the plane to go out of control. The pilots managed to hang on, and keep the aircraft going, but it finally crashed into Mount Takamaguhara. The final death toll was 520(including Sakamoto), with just 4 survivors. It is THE worst single-aircraft crash in history. Yup. Hope that helps you some. But yeah---give that song a listen. It's on youtube or one of the others. 4462

Okay-----Achtung: I forgot to remind you kids yesterday of the anniversary of the Germans formally surrendering on May 7, 1945. I've been reading about the wars in Europe during that time, and it was really a terrible, terrible event. I don't believe any side "won" that one. But, the War Vs Japan had another 3 months to go, with many casualties and much suffering. Plus--waste of nonrenewable resources. But yeah--it was only 77 years ago. Hope that helps you some. Thankk Mee.

Well, I went to the ol' coin laundry, since the water well was down. But it helps me get caught up, by using their super capacity machines. The same people have owned the place since 1983! Anyway--it is next door to a pawn shop, so I went in to see if they had anything that I was in desperate need of, at a dirt-cheap price. Welllllll.........they had just gotten in a bicycle the day before, that got my attention, right away. After begging and pleading and crying and refusing to leave until they lowered the price, the co-managers---both guys weighing about 400# each---lowered the price to MY price, in order to just get rid of littlebittymee! You kids know how I am---obnoxious & irritating as a bad case o' poison ivy! Yup. Anyway, it is a totally useless bike & of course you kids would hate it. It is dirty and filthy and prolly been sitting in a storage unit for upwards o' ten years or more. It needs a thorough cleaning, and lubing critical points, and air in the tyres, just to ride! It is my size, too, after some adjustments. Even has 175mm crank arms. But, also needs pedals. But guess what? It is NOT what the Cool People would buy, nowadays. Nope. It is not an EBike, where you sit bolt upright on a big wide seat, so you can look all around for some cute little bistro to stop n' eat some yummy goodies, like gourmet pizza, after you ride 2 miles. . . Nope. This is a
(circa) 2004 Felt S 25 Tri-Bike. It is geared up so that instead of being EASIER to pedal, it requires MORE effort to pedal! Yup. It's got those handlebars---aero bars---where you are bent waaaaaay over! Doesn't that sound like fun? Felt Bike, has had some issues--a recall and a corporate reshuffle & buyout(s). But, they're still in business. The bike I acquired has a local dealer sticker on it, but that bike shop hasn't handled the brand in awhile---since the shop changed ownership & the new management ONLY handles Cool Bikes for Cool People; i.e. consumers who want to jump right on the latest trendy $tuff. See? But, leave it to littlebittymee to buy a nasty, dirty old bike from the pawn shop super cheapo that is HARDER, not easier & more comfterbal to ride! Ha. I would post a photo, but wait until I get 'er detailed out. You'll hate it, and of course it validates that I'm a fool. Ha. Hope that helps you some. Thankk Mee.

That is one of the things I miss about my old place and working a bit less, reel mowing and a clothesline. 'Stuff, you doing OK? Ain't heard from ya inawhile. But yeah---there's no end to the amount o' mowing you can do in Zurra, if you're so inclined. But, I'm caught up for the moment. Ha. Just kidding. One o' these daysa, I'll post a photo of my walk-behind mower collection. No sense in getting a rider for my place; too many obstacles, IF you get my drift. Yes, there are plenty of people who acquire land, for the sole purpose of just mowing it, on an impre$$ive-looking rider! I'm no psychologist, like you kids, but there's GOT to be something wrong with people like that! Hope that helps you some. Thankk Mee. Edited to add: Yup---that's another project--a clotheline. There was one here, at one time. There's still concrete and the stubs from it, to use. So, yeah--one of these days.

I had a rider, I obtained from a relative, who had bought it after spending a year recovering from a medical issue. They hated mowing the lawn and I took care of that for them while they were down. They used it for one year and decided to just hire a service.
About 20 years later, I was given it (gas tank had leaked out, thankfully, long ago, bumped the hose off). New carb, replaced one tire, fixed the others (innertubes), new battery, oil change, blades sharpened, general cleaning and it was good to go.
70ish year old neighbor taking care of his daughters house on a hill, kept wanting to buy it from me and wouldn't just take it. Finally we agreed on just the cost of the parts and it made his life a lot easier. Passed up a couple project mowers (simple fixes) just do to no time to mess with them. Like to find another rider for someone with some medical issues and a couple acres. (they have a not so dependable service)
Only three walk behinds, (one at each house, and a new, much larger one for the new house, since some weeks are seven days of work).
Been looking at Youtube video's today when I knew I was getting dehydrated outside, of people who used bike parts and an old reel mower and electrified them. I was impressed in how they were much better in tall grass, but it did make me wonder about gearing them different, as the faster speed seemed to make the most difference.
Still the new house is about 4x the yard of the old house, may give the reel mower to whoever buys the old house.

Okay----RE: my new, 2005-model Felt Tri-bike, from the hock shop. I know what you kids are thinking, giving that crime-runs-rampant here in Zurra's 3rd largest city, that just built a nice, new 1200 bed jail to cope with it. By the time it opens, it will already be too small. But see---it appears that the bike I acquired has been in storage for quite awhile, judging from the dust & dirt and pet hair vaccumulated on it. So, yeah---after I filed my p-shop receipt in my file cabinet, I used a spray bottle & vinegar & a damp cloth to give er a preliminary cleanup, and compressed air to blow out the chain, etc. Then, used a hand pump to inflate the tyres and put a battery in the obsolete-but-deluxe cateye cyclo'puter, and chain lube on 'er. Had to drop the seat down, and adjust the clip-on aero bars. Ha. Rode it up and down the street several times, and it runs good, considering. But, somebody put a stem on it with a 45 degree uptilt, which raises the bars almost high enough to spot any pizza places along the road. Ha. That defeats the purpose of a tri-bike! You're SUPPOSED to be "all humped over", on a tri-bike! It has 23c tyres and a tig-welded aluminum frame, so you notice bumps on the road surface. This keeps it from being too compfterbal. You kids'd hate it. Yup. Anyway, I placed an order for a used 17-degree stem, from a charity in Wi. Also---of course I sat-n-watched an old video I've seen a number of times, but not lately. You kids need to watch it---it's "John Cobb on tri-bike fit". Cobb is even older than me, and is an expert and consultant on the subject. Yup. Just last fall, in Tx, he finished 140th or so, in a triathlon! I have no such ambitionp; I'm a poor swimmer, but maybe could keep up with Mr Cobb, after a little work. Hope that helps you some. Thank Mee. I must now return to my regularly-scheduled program of vegetation control.

Boobby I visited the Gore psychiatric museum, in St. Joseph Missouri last week. That is in your home state I believe. They showed all kinds of instruments that “treated “the mentally ill decades ago. You would probably enjoy it. I did not.

I’ve been in London several times but never went to the Tower or Anne Boleyn’s last living place. As you are well aware I visited Dracula’s castle which is actually a big giant myth. The castle has really the home of a much beloved queen Marie who served the Romanian population well in just the last century.

I remember taking my grandmother to her cousins funeral, decades ago. We started at her old house, which had a tiny front yard, the street, and then the prison wall.
The families thought was, if they actually escaped from the prison, criminals would NOT want to stick around so close to it.

I would have thought that scary places to you would have been things like Animal control services (and their death chamber), retail establishments (since you seem to be in Springfield, maybe Grizzly tools), and restaurants like Pete's ZA place.

TMS, I guess I really ain't skeered o' nuthin', since about everything around here is stigmatized, anyway. I stopped at the Villisca Axe Murder House up in Iwah, the police state, in two thousand and six, late on a Saturday afternoon, and found the owner/curator waiting for some overnighters to arrive. He left me in the house alone, so I could go upstairs, by myself, while he waited outside for the paying guests. The place may look large in photos of the exterior, but is a fairly tiny house. Especially for a family of six. The staircase to the second floor was so small and winding, that I wondered how they got furniture up there. Yup. But yeah the room that creeped me out was the downstairs sewing room/guest bedroom off the parlor. Yup.4471

Also, Faux/Lilies, as long as you were in St Joe, you coulda visited the city cemetery where Ken Rex McElroy, Skidmore town bully is interred. Also, one of my former neighbors. Then, on to Skidmore, to see the sites there. I call that region, sw Iwah/N/W Zurra, the skeery triangle. You've got the grave of Bonnie Brown Heady, and her former home in St Joe, PLUS the site of the last lynching in Mo. in Nodaway County. and all kinds of creepy stuff. My English Perfesser from ICCC in FD, Iwah s grave, too, at Savannah. She was a spinster and then a went into a convent up there, at age Sixty two. I referred to her as "Gory Dorthie" because she always dwelt upon weird, depressing, macabre subjects. Especially about men dying or being maimed in motor vehicle or industrial accidents. But, never said a word about you kidses' favorite place, Ukrainia, or Row Versus Wade. FYI, Wade, was the long serving Dallas County prosecutor of record in not only that case, but at the time of the JFK assassination and related events, so also prosecuted Jack Ruby. Isn't that cool? Looky----I put these on my old white bike(w/12 speed)I showed you kids awhile back. I had these stored away in a plastic tub with other mostly useless bike parts; I don't even recall when/where I acquired them. But, they're a good brand, and even though they require getting used to, are very beneficial. Put summa these on your Brompton EBike. Ha. How do you like that? 4475Edited to add: I'm taking these back off, to use them on another bike. Yup. See---these won't quite clamp securely on the bars on the white bike, due to the larger dia iof the center section of the bars; they sit right on the tapered places on either side, and that won't hold it. So, they'll go on another one, and I will use the separate L/R clip-on bars. Yup. Hope that helps you some. Thankk Mee.

But, here's a delightful preview: The local city Art Museum money pit had some "prints"(IOW--soup-can posters)of Andy Warhols "art" just vanish, a few years ago. They weren't even on display, but kept in storage. And then--poof! , just gone. But, so newsworthy was this, that the loccal "newspaper" had at least 3-4 pages of coverage, on the situation. Then, awhile later, after the 'surance compney paid out some ridiculous amount for the "loss" of those stupid posters(like in the 100's of thousands), the 'seum blew the money---("pissed it away", as they so eloquently say waaaay up in a littlebitty town in the middle o' nowhere)on some hideous artsy-fartsy trash by some bro from up in Saint Louis! They showed a news photo of a local Dad & his young Daughter looking at the newly acquired "artwork" by this bro, and their expressions were priceless. Ha. Okay----Guess what? Well----and this is VERY important---I learned just today that in 1980, the music group I have mentioned before named "A Taste of Honey"---the one-hit wonders that sang "Boogie Oogie Oogie", ALSO recorded the song that was a HUGE hit for Kyu Sakamoto, referred to as "Sukiyaki'. But yeah--they recorded it---with English lyrics--and performed it on the tEE-vEE show that was called "Soul Train". Yup. That being said---their rendition was not a big hit. Nope. But, it IS interesting. I didn't know it, until today. Hope that helps you kids too. Oh, hey---how mannya you kids sit n' watch old episodes of the Bob Ross Show or whatever they call it? You know what I mean---where he cranks out a brilliant landscape masterpiece, inside of half an hour? Yup. That's why I don't think any painting or whatever is worth more'n $50 bucks. Hitler--he was an artist in Vienna, and it said he was living on the streets. See, he couldn't make it. He had to take a career path of becoming an arguably Great Leader, to put food on the table, a roof over his head, a wummun by his side(which takes a LOTTA dough), clothes on his back, shoes on his feet, a car in the garage(VW's, Porsche's, 'Cedes, BMW's, Audi's, etc), and a HUGE fierce Wehrmacht, with Tanks, and Unterseebootens, to try and make his neighbors see things his way. Okay---the inexpensive used pedals for my Felt pawn shop bike, arrived from Co. The Denver area is a gold mine for used bike parts, and shipping is quick from there to here. Yup. But yeah---the pedals are single-sided clipless, with low wear, for pedals. Prolly somebody changed them out for more higher end double-sided pedals, cause single-sided can be frustrating to use, especially in town. But, this is not an in-town bike. I have a more-better(Ha) set that I bought a couple years ago, for about the same price to put on the white bike. Those were a good deal, but did have some usage, and required some tinkering to get them functioning properly. But, that was a good deal, anyway. Anyway, these'll suffice, to get this bike roadable. I also ordered a nice & cheap set of matching chainrings 53/39t, coming out of china. So it'll prolly be awhile. But yeah---they'll work fine, for me. The large ring on my "new" bike has a worn large chainring. This also means I'll need a chain, as well, but I may have one with very low usage, around here. The Felt would be great for the paved back roads of central i-wah, but kind of useless, around here. There are local routes established, though, that it would work on, but they're some driving distance away. See? Oh yeah---you know what the Cool People here do, that makes them so cool? They are heavily into "Gravel biking" which is like mountain biking, without mountains. Ha. Since there are NO unpaved roads(except trails)in this county, they must haul their bikes to neighboring counties, to ride on "gravel", which has ruts, and rocks the size of your fist & hill people driving those 'normous monster trucks, passing you! Coool. Gnarly, dude! Maybe they'll even blow some diesel smoke on you, if your lucky! Ha. But, yeah---that's what the Cool People do, to be trendy, now. Now that the infrastructure & driver acceptance is in place HERE, road-biking is passe'/old skool, only done by old guys like mee, and they(Cool People) must buy a dedicated "Gravel Bike", and travel-to-the-gravel. See what I mean? Maximize Consumption, is the plan, for Cool People. Get a plastic(carbon fiber)gravel bike, and destroy it within a year or two, riding/crashing on gravel. And mud. In rain. Repeat by Upgrading. Then, move on to the next trend. See? Hope that helps you some.

Okay---I'm just sitting here, deafened by you kidses' silence. Thinking maybe--I should get the message, and donate all but ONE of my bikes to charity, to get things organized and tidied-up around here! Nice & Neat, like it's not even lived-in. The one I should keep, of course, is an old, 1996 Trek Antelope that I put together from a pile of bikes that came from the local University surplus auction via another person who took the E-Z ones(department store bikes, btw) & blew up the tires & put them out by the curb 4-sell, and sold me the rest for $20. But see---the good ones--they weren't E-Z money, but they were at least decent entry-level 90's bike shop bikes--so-called "Mountain Bikes" from the early days of the fad. A Specialized Hard Rock & a Trek Antelope & a Raleigh. The first two are ridable now, while the Raleigh is still out back. Anyway--the Antelope is pretty functional for short hops on city streets. You do have an upright riding position and a low-slung frame and 26" smoothie tyres, and twist-grip shifters. Yes, it's a junker, but waaay better shape than most of the rusty-chain bike-rack bikes at the lirrrarrary and pool & other places, that the street urchins ride. It also has one o' those thick padded seats, too. But, riding it 50 miles would be a feat, for sure. Not gonna try it. It is not a road bike. Nope. The Hard Rock, I rebuilt for the purpose of using it on the rail-trail, after experimenting with my road bikes on the rail trail. But, just haven't gotten the hang of riding it, yet. More on this one, later. Hope that helps you some. Thankk mee.

How many bikes do you have? We just have an stationary exercise bike at our house, so I don't really have much to add to the bike conversation.Thank You Very Much(TYVM) R/R, for axxing mee that quesssion. I been wondering just how many bikes I have, myself. So, early this morning I started looking around the place, in all the likely places, and tallying up the bikes. It got dark, and I kept counting until the batteries in my flashlight went out. So, I hope to resume tomorrow and plan to have an answer for you by late afternoon. Rounded off to the nearest dozen. See---there are several reasons for having so many bikes. One possibility, according to Pschopathy Today Magazine, (which I read at the laudr-O-mat because they have stacks of old copies there
), is that I'm afflicted with Bikomanic Disorder in combination with Collectahoardosis. Another reason could be that like Lays Potato chips--you can't have just one. And last---which sounds most credible to me---is that bikes are like shoes---one pair won't do, for an active person. See? If you are going out to the farm, and walk in tall vegetation, it's best to have tall boots on, with thick soles to protect your feet. If, on the other hand, your just going shopping at the store, some canvas shoes might be better. See? So, yeah---I have different bikes for different applications, all customized to my requirements. If I were to purchase NEW bikes, and customize them to suit, that would be VERY expensive. But, I have started with old, used, SELECT framesets, and built them up with moderately-priced components, myself. In one case, I drove to a village 25 miles away, answering a craigslist ad. A school teacher, who did odd jobs in the summer, had a 1988 Trek 1000 for sale for ????, that hed been given, while cleaning out a garage. It is turquoise with white lettering, and the paint and decals in VERY good shape. But, the fork had been replaced with a generic steel fork that was chromed, and the wheels were different brands, and other components unsuitable. The guy asked if I wanted to try it out, by riding it around. Nope. It was my size, and I simply gave him $125, took it home and the next day---without riding it---took it all apart, down to just the frame, minus the fork. That was all I wanted. The other parts went to a plastic tub of surplus stuff I may donate, sometime. I bought a really nice aluminum fork the right color, and acquired the rest of the bits n pieces, new & used, including a nice new set of integrated brake/shift levers from a seller in Malaysia, to upgrade it. Made it a 3 x 9 speed, too(was 2 x 7 speed). But, yeah--it turned out pretty nice, for a cheap build. I don't put a lot of miles on that one, because I want to keep it looking fresh. One of my beloved cats clawed up the new bar tape, but I redid it. Take it to short rides, events in town. See? That's its' purpose. I looked at 'er tonight, and it needs cleanup, just from sitting in my shed this winter. To be continued. Hope that helps you some.

Okay----I put the aero bars I had in my junk box onto my Trek 1990 1420. Still waiting for the replacement cushions, for the armrests. That will give it more comfort. That particular bike I use for the longer rides, and one issue is numbness in my hands. Having an additional hand position that takes the pressure off, should help. Aero bars can help you make better time with less effort, even when you're just touring, above a certain speed---say 12-15 mph. . They would be especially beneficial in I-wah, where you encounter strong breezes that can slow you down a lot, on long straight stretches. . The new set of Aero bars arrived today, and between rain storms and a power outage, I installed 'em on my white 1988 Trek 2 x 11 speed. This is a bike I use for fast riding on medium-length routes. Not races, not long bikepacking trips, definitely NOT gravel. But yeah--it will help make this one fun to ride & utilize my rather vintage and finite Packy-power. Yup. One thing that may save you kids some wasted expense is the fact that Aero bars are of little value on a stationary bike EXCEPT to accustom you to the aggressive riding positon. As has been stated on this forum elsewhere, you're "all humped over, like a racing bike". But, even if you're NOT racing, you can conserve your strength, and make better time, by assuming an aero stance(except on a stationary bike). See?? It also lowers you & redistributes your weight, so the bike handles better at speed. Hope that helps you some. Now, I will use electrical tape to temporarily hold the bar tape, instead of super gluing it. That way, I can ascertain that the bars are where they need to be.

Okay---Here's a photo of a Married man w/grandkids, who received a nice, clean, new $225 Huffy Beach Cruiser Bike for his Birthday, from his Family. He's shown in this photo, taking it for a ride. I suggested that he raise the seat, but he insisted that it was "very compfterbal" the way it was. Yup. As you kids know, I know EVERYTHING, right? But, if I do in fact know everything, then why am I now riding a bike from the pawn shop, that cost substantially more, needs work, and is 16 years old? Ha. See? 4483

I was wondering if maybe you could share with us some information about your exercise bike?

Our stationary bike is an inexpensive SUNNY brand that we bought from Amazon. We chose it because it is compact, lightweight and portable, which are desirable attributes in our very small house. However, I don't think it is very good quality, because we are on our second one. DH wore out/broke the first one after about 2 years of regular use. I joked that nobody is supposed to actually use an exercise bike, so he broke it by not using it for its intended purpose as a clothes rack.

R/R---That is indeed awesome and amazing that DH actually used an exercise bike, until it wore out! Two years is a VERY long time for a consumer product & probably the manufacturer would like you to return it, so they can analyze where they can go forward and take shortcuts to lower production costs, so the product fails in a year. Yup.

Okay---I know I am wading into deep water that may necessitate rowing, due to the controversial nature of a clash of ideologies caused by my sexist stereotyping and stuff like that. I just know you kids will be pm-ing Alan(when he has yard work to see to)screaming that lbb is at it, again. Okay--but here goes nothing, as our next-door neighbors' daughter used to say, when taking a croquet shot back in that littlebittytown waaaay up north in the middle O- nowhere, where MEAT in large quantities is the ideal. Big Steaks make for Big People. Anyway, if I could get scientific, I could chart just zackly what is the optimum amount of biking. I think there are people out there who have figured it out. So, I'm not going to lie--I might be compensating for my lack of motivation, a little. Whatever they call it, in Psychopathy Today Magazine. See? Anyway---here's one o' my case studies, to illustrate my point. Okay---you have this certain mid-fifties gal here, who is an active biker, which is understating it. Last fall, at one of the few organized events I attended, I hauled my bike the 12 miles to the starting point in my 14-year-old cheap subcompact that I bought from the wreckin' yard, years ago & rehabbed. Anyway, I've seen that lady at events before, and she is affable & genial and has lots of friends and acquantances that bike, okay? So, I get home, after the event, which for me was a 50-miler on my old Packard-Schwinn, which is older than many of the participants, and check the Strava site, to see how some others fared. Well, it turns out that lady(the case study), who is an "avid" biker biked from her home to the event, and back home again, which prolly added another 25 miles plus city traffic to her ride, that day. So, I looked on google maps and said I can do that, BUT the ride commences at 7 am and check in is before that, so you've got to commence riding well before 5 AM to arrive on time. And then, traffic is murder and it'll be 90-plus degrees out, on the route home. See? But yeah---her Strava account is impressive in the sheer number of rides she does by herself or with her many friends, year around. She is petite and lean, especially for a wummun in her mid-fifties. Yup. But---They are what I call "junk miles". Why? Well, here's the caveat: The other day I checked her F-book, (to update her case file), which shows her doing all kinds of bike-y stuff, the main thing that stood out was her post wherein she apologized for being absent the last few weeks(during winter), due to "having her knee done". She said she was healing nicely, and was anticipating having the "other knee done" one of these days. Hopefully not during the prime time for biking, right? So yeah---here's the takeaway. How much biking(or any fitness activity) leads to diminishing returns? Needing surgery is definitely a negative. Yup. See? If I go over X-thousand miles in a year, I develop aches and pains in certain critical areas(not caused by general fatigue) that are my bodys' way of saying: "back waaay off", because that nagging pain can escalate into chronic injury. Sure can. Not a good strategy for a casual rider. Don't want to be one of those poser wannabee EBikers, either. See? Anyway, I filed her data, along with this other item from her F-book account, which I'll post here. Hope that helps you kids some. Thank Mee.4485

Okay---this is a VERY important subject. To me, anyway. See---what happened the other day was, I found a one-hit wonder, who had incorporated the Mellotron into the recording of their one hit! See, as you kidss already know, I like one-hit wonders the best. I also prefer studio recordings, as well. Not always, but usually. Also, great covers when I find them on Youtube. Lyrics count for zip; if I want words, I'll read a book. Okay---the song is one from 1974. Noooo, it's not Skynyrd or Zz Top or Radar Love or anya that "classic rock" crap. Nope. It's one the Cool People hate, because it's too "soft rock", for them. The song is "Poetry Man" by the late Phoebe Snow, Greenwich Village performer from Joisy. I heard it somewhere the other day--prolly the grocery store. And, I have it on a 45 I bought back in 1975. Anyway, I listened to it a couple times and declared: "Hey--there's a Mellotron in there!" Realizing that, after 45 years!
See--in the last year, I've been keeping my ears open for (older) music that features a Mellotron. A Mellotron is considered a primitive sampler or synthesizer, by some. It's an electro-mechanical device that uses a keyboard to replay pre-recorded sounds--notes, by stringed instruments or horns, etc., that can be dubbed into recordings or even live performances. Here's the controversy: Musicians Unions et al objected to their use, because it undermined their livelihood, or so they claimed. Anyway--for a better explanation of how a Mellotron works, view on youtube: Bell Tone Synth Works Mellotron. You kids have no doubt heard "Strawberry Fields", by the mop-topped foursome, wherein McCartney played the Mellotron. Right? The Moody Blues' Mike Pinder played Mellowtron on Tuesday Afternoon & other compositions. Now do you see? So, it's become a game to me that I call "Spot The Mellotron". Do you kids think that is Obsessive-Compulsive, or am I on the Aspy Spectrum, about midway? Be honest, and don't Gaslight littlebittymee. Ha. But yeah---"Poetry Man" integrated Mellotron, and it's most apparent during the (real) saxophone solo. There's (real)harp in there too, and (real)upright string bass, per Phoebes' request. How do I know this? Well, I don't "know" because I wasn't there, BUT I ran across an essay on the 'net, by someone who claimed to have taken part in the process of producing this one hit with Snow, as an employee of the record company. Anyway, that's what they said. They also made the point that during the mid-60's was when the emphasis on recorded music came about. Prior to then, record companies just recorded music performances, just as they'd sound live. Minus the audience. Ha. But, the industry--that includes some leading artists-- wanted a more surreaal sound--more sophisticated & progressive, if you will. So, from then on, the studio was where the creative process took place, for many successful bands! See--I read a Stevie Nicks biography, last year. It was not all about her romances and drama and whatnot. Nope. A little, maybe. But the takeaway was---you had two American kids--Buckingham and Nicks---who had already recorded an album that was a modest success. It defined their sound, and their fan base was live audiences in the deep Southern USA. They were looking for opportunities in SoCal, and Nicks was cleaning house for a record producer who introduced them to a veteran group from the UK (Fleetwood Mac) that was looking to reinvent itself, with new players and new music. See? Sooo, this record producer introduced them, and they all partied together, found they were compatible, even though they had different style of music! Well, they were put in a leased recording studio that was VERY compfterbal, for weeks on end, and they proceeded to create several albums filled with hits! After the records were released & became popular, they then had to tour and perform in large arenas, with 1000's of people! Touring really curtails the creative process, and so does success, according to whgat I read. See? Okay--where was I? Oh, yeah--Mellotron. It's obsolete; prolly was obsolete, even in its' prime. But it has a cool psychedelic sound, and one reason is on account of its technical deficiency--the so-called "flutter and wow" of the magnetic tape used to play the pre-recorded notes added to the record. See? You can research it, for a better understanding, if you choose. Hope that helps you some. Thankk mee.

I did watch the YouTube you recommended and it was pretty interesting. I had never heard of a Mellotron before. DH overheard some of it and came to watch it with me. He is quite a fan of the band Phish, and he mentioned the theremin as another interesting musical device that Phish sometimes used.
I have never played "spot the Mellotron" so I cannot name any songs. I strongly dislike the Moody Blues though, for what it's worth. I think they sound moany and whiny.

Yes, yes, yes---Theramin. Yup. Another of my favorite "one-hit wonders", as Cool People who "only buy albums" condescendingly refer to them, is Terry Staffords' "Suspicion" from waaay back in 64 or 65, when I was in jr hi. But yeah---Suspicion has a Theramin featured prominently in it. The song was originally written for Elvis, by good ol' boys in the Brill Building in Noo Yawk Citty, but didn't do much. But, when Terry Stafford recorded it with a lively and distinctive Theremin accompaniment, it became his one big hit. Yup. Hope that helps you some. Thankk mee. That said, I can't recall any other Theramin music; but yeah---you said Phish uses it. I' ll have to check it out. Edited to add: I got to thinking about it, and "Suspicion" does NOT use a Theramin. Nope. It features an Ondioline, which is a keyboard instrument resembling a Mellotron. The Theremin.....(to be continued)

Well, if those other kids can talk about old houses as if they are really something, why---I guess I can post a photo of a Classic Zurra Stigmatized House! Yup. Anyhow, the place is in St Joe, and easy to find. The place wasn't very old when it gained its' notoriety--prolly about 10 y.o. in 1953. But, yeah---burying the body of a child that you kidnapped and shot, in the back yard next to the house, would tend to stignmatize a property. Sure would. Plus, it was a VERY sensational crime---the perps, an unmarried couple living in SIN, were caught cold and confessed, and ended up in Zurras infamous gas chamber just 81 days after the dastardly deed(I borryed that word from you kids)was committed! Yup. Anyway, here's the place---what's something like that worth, anyhow? Would an anxious buyer looking to exit CallyFornya give you $400k, sight unseen? Just curious.4487

Old news. You're probably just getting to it because the 45th anniversary of the fire is coming up on Saturday. It's an 80 acre site so development will be a mixture of homes, assisted living facilities and shopping.
My wife grew up just down the street from the club and her mother was scheduled to go the following night to see John Davidson who was the featured performer on the night of the fire. Yeah, Well----I can't see how land in Ky is scarce enough that it necessitates redeveloping this VERY stigmatized site! Some people have no qualms about doing anything to make a buck! How could you sleep at night, knowing what happened there? The Governor should step in, and serve the developers a Cease-and-desist order to halt all construction, and seize the land by eminent domain, and make it into a memorial park! End of Story. Alan, no doubt you and your wife had dinner there, back in the day. How was the food? I'll just bet the steaks were just a bit overcooked, on that fateful evening in 1977.

Alan, no doubt you and your wife had dinner there, back in the day. Nope, I met her in Alaska and we were still there when the place burned down. Okay----It is a disgrace to the nation that these stigmatized sites be "developed"! Guess what? I did some checking, and within the last decade, the former site of the ill-fated Cocoanut Grove Nightclub in Bah-Stun has been "redeveloped" with more "Luxury" stuff! For 70 years afterward, it was a parkin' lot, and had a plaque on the site, reminding of that dastardly day in infamy---The Cocoanut Grove Nightclub Fire, which claimed at least 490 lives! Yup. After I filed my parts away in my school-surplus file cabinets(labeling the parts as to what they fit), I placed the empty open boxes on the sofa/davenport'lounge, and left them there overnight. By the same token, they don't seem upset by the numbers coming out of the inner cities, in a steady stream, day-after-day-day-after-day. Anyway, one report I read said the perp walked right into the schoolhouse, because it was unlocked, and found his targets. Now, how come I go into places like gov't agencies(like the SS office), and there's a locked entrance that requires you to summon someone to give you a visual check, and buzz you in, and an armed cop, working on his pension, while supposedly keeping an eye on things, but this school did not have that? These are our local resident eagles and they are major celebrities in town. There are eaglets in the nest!

The Cocoanut Grove fire was only a few miles away from where I live, and my mom remembered it well (when her memory was still working). It was quite a tragedy, but real estate is way too valuable around here to let any sit vacant. Chelsea used to be a pretty poor, undesirable area, but it's become gentrified due to it's proximity to Boston.

Our chefs will develop recipes for all kinds of vermin that people ordinarily regard as inedible. Okay----here's another case history. It may be on the exam, so pay attention. Here, you'll see a photo of a parking lot & some bushes. Well, it's been thataway for 45 years now, ever since the fire that destroyed THE nightclub called: Butch Cassidy's, or Butch C's, by The Cool People. The establishment was a discotheque, and had a crows' nest in the corner, where the DJ was. He sounded like a carnival barker, to me. Several songs from that place come to mind: Walk This Way & Dream On by Aerosmith; Love Hurts & Hair of the Dog by Nazareth. They musta only had two 45 rpm records, and played both sides of each, and that was the play list. But yeah-more importantly--Butch C's had Cheap Draw Nights, which always attracted a crowd, so it was literally packed! Anyway, one night, fortunately after closing hours, it caught fire, and was totally destroyed. Though no beer-drinkers were harmed, a total of 7 firemen were injured! Ever since that dreadful & dastardly day in Dec '76, the site has essentially been left vacant, as a shrine and memorial to Butch C's, just as it should be. Yup.4499

But yeah---it will be the toast of the town, just like the late, great, BHSC in Covington Ky. Yup.
Close but no cigar LittleBit, it was in Southgate KY. You'll damage your grisly death aficionado cred with mistakes like that.

Should we name this Packy's place?

Nope, limiting himself to one thread was his idea, and I've been impressed with the discipline shown.

Okay----I sure do apologize for making a mistake about such a VERY important subject like a place location in Kentucky! Ha. Not trying to be sarcastic; it just comes naturally. But yeah---I will offer you kids reparations, in the form of a photo or two of Porsche Girl, who generated controversy and unwanted attention to the family of the young girl who, without permission was driving her Fathers' Porsche at an illegal high speed, and lost control, went airborne and hit a concrete toll booth, and was fatally injured! Yup. What actually caused the distress was that the photos of the victim, still seated in the car, were leaked and posted on the internet. I decided to NOT post that one here, so you kids won't get sick. But, here's the wrecked car, and a photo of the girl, pre-accident. I really think that demmmacrats ought to start beating their war drums about those Porsches---they are Dastardly Death Traps produced by a former nazi country! How would you feel, if your child got ahold of one, and did this? Yup. Whattya think, Beta?4500450045014501

Okay---there was a popular nightclub here, that closed up 20 years ago. An RV parts store opened up in the same location, and the nightclub owner opened another club in an industrial area. Well, that one is closed, too. I saw an obit for the club owner, several years ago. It indicated that was her lifes' work. Yup. But the second location used the same name, with "II", after it. Sooo, since I have a shrewd sense for bizness opportunities, I figureed I'd borrow some $$ from underworld loan sharks, acquire the property pictured below & the one next to it, so I could build an addition in the form of an auditorium. Then, feature second-rate entertainment that is tooo corny for Lost Wages OR Branflakes, even! Of course--I'll use non-union wqrkers, pay 'em in cash, and re-wire the place using undocumented "electricians" to install Aluminum wiring to save $$$$. How does that sound? I told you kids I was shrewd! Anyway, it will be the BHSC II. Hopefully, I can locate that sign(also shown below)that someone has GOT to have stored away, somewhere, and use it on my new club. Wish Mee Luck. If the property looks familiar, well maybe it is. Because it was once the home of the fabulous "Meat Pit" restaurant that served yummy stuff! Yup. Hopefully, on a busy night, the place will have patrons packed in like sardines, but(also hopefully)NOT "stacked like cordwood", if you get my drift. 45024503

The young, hip, tolerant folks on the Mr. money mustache Forums banned someone who was doing exactly the same thing A few years ago. The banned guy had a thread in the journal section that isn’t even indexed on Google.

Some of the people who once hung out here were so twitterpatted about that man’s posts( which by the way were about perfectly legal things in his life) that apparently he just soured the whole atmosphere and they HAD to get rid of him. Apparently. Because it is too hard to stay out of someone’s own journal thread? Or whatever.

What a bunch of pansies. I’ve since seen them ban someone else that I’m still shocked by. After that I added a snarky tagline to all of my posts on the Mr. money mustache Forums.

If I'm banned, I guess I can go back to my other interest, which is reading Restaurant Reviews. Maybe even post some Faux Reviews, just for fun. This is NOT a review by littlebittymee, but I find this failed establishment to be a delightful case study. BTW, another one is that Seven Eleven Missippissi place that is so delightfully pretentious. I'm just SUUUre you'll miss the place, and having your own table, there. Even bottyles of Vintage Vino, earmarked for your consumption, in their cellar. Yup. Cliick to read review. Thankk Mee.4504

Our friend LittleBit is treading the same ground. The restaurant he pictured above is less than a mile from my house and he's only highlighting it to remind me that he's still trolling my neighborhood. Maybe he thinks it's intimidating, but it's not, just irritating.

Some people are thrilled with their own cleverness at using basic internet sources to find out stuff about about people. Yawn. Most of us played around with ferreting out stuff about people we know and then got bored with it.

Me, I still check out certain things about certain people, but my guess is I can work Bobby under the table about Internet resources and I’m not even a paid detective.

And I did go to the 1111 Mississippi for my birthday.

There was, it was a BBQ joint which went out of business after about 6 months several years ago. LittleBit discovered it some time ago while doing his research on me.

I just find it a VERY useful case in teaching the concept of VS that eating in restaurants as a form of entertainment or even High Culture is highly, highly overrated! Seriously--it is one of the FIRST things a newbie should do is STOP buying high-priced tickets to "concerts" or going to restaurants such as the late-great BHSC, for something to "Do".. See? SOME people remind me of those Limousine Liberals, who SAY they are adherents to Voluntary Simplicity, but really are quite the opposite. I now know how Torsten Veblen felt, when he was hounded for expressing HIS views on Conspicuous Consumption, in the early 20th century! When I'm out biking, I sometimes have to cross 4-lane highways, and I always wonder as I wait for a clear path, "Where are all these people going?" See? Maybe thety just like to get out and DRIVE, for something to "Do". But then, they complain about the price of gas and every downside associated with their consumption habits. See? Hope thatt helps you kids some. Thankk Mee.

Okay---due to being coerced by veiled threats, I will not be discussing the Las Vegas Concert Shooting, of a few years back. Even though it has much to offer. But, here's something you migfht like. Hope it helps you some. Thankk mee. Oh, shucks. I xcan't find it.

As long as we are airing our grievances here, I would like to express my displeasure at seeing all the oiff-color language being used on this forum. It really is unbecoming of people who are cultured and educated. Hopefully, this will not continue, because it isn't "hip" or "cool", nor is it effective in adding emphasis. ./ Nope. I know that people in NW I-wah cannot resist telling an off-color joke or making comments of a sexual or scatological; nature. But, this is not NW I-wah. Nope. We, are worldly and intelligent people, aren't we? Hope that helps you some. Thankk Mee. One other thing--I've been reading many of Packys old posts, and they are every bittybit as true now, as they were then. True, through and through. But, some people "can't handle the truth". They do make good Demmacratz, though. Ha. There's nothing spiteful and mean, in any of them. As I've stated before--I've gotten in waaaay more trouble for telling the Truth---than I have for Lying!! One other thing---the people who complained about Packy the most, and threatened to leave if he weren't booted, ended up leaving anyway, after he was Banned. I figure I'm a Magnet for Criticism, because people identify with what I say, even if I'm not referring to them! Remember office guy, who held patents on stuff? Well, that was based on an old school chum of mine. And, the case of the woman who travelled alllll the way to Hawaii? Another personal friend. See? Most of my cases are. But, like the inkblot test, you identify yourselves, and think I'm mocking you. Ha. If I were a tEE-vEE educated Psychologist, I'd say there are signs of ummmm Paranoid Persaonality Disorder w/delusions of reference, with overtones of Narcissism. Or something like that. But, I'm not an expert in the field. See? How do you like that?

There is really a restaurant called "The Meat Pit???"Yup. Or there was. It closed, for a number of reasons. I won't disclose the location; that is irrelevant. But yeah---the reviews of the place online, accessible to everyone---are VERY entertaining and informative. They really are golden. As for criticizing littlevbittymee for netsleuthing---well, it turns out that I'm not an original in anything. So far, everything I've ever said, done, thought about doing, have an opinion about, etc.etc., has already had someone cover that ground. See? Admit it.

He'd just go back to irritating you on antisocial media, LOL.

On another forum, they just banned someone in a special way. His posts, appear only to himself,(and the mods who use the brain ignore function), so no one else see's them. (and they have to figure that out)
