Okay----I was reading about the possibility of Emigrating to Bulgaria. So far, the biggest prollem since the predominant language is Bulgarian, ans I'd have a hard time learning to speak Bulgarian. But anyway---anya you kids been to Bulgaria? But yeah---what's it like, there?54145415

Okay---Here's a pothole in the road, out in The Peoples Republic of Washington. But yeah---they say they just got around to fixing it, so this off- or on-ramp will be closed for 10 days, causing a VERY inconvenient detour. Yup.5416

Okay---This country has become one big old Las Vegas or Branson and Oldies Radio Station. . Yup. In order to do what "they" do, for something to "do", ya gotten invest your money in Ticckkickks to sit-n-watch a bunch of geezers play the same-o same-o. Or even stand n watch, holding a lighted bic in the air. Yup. Gotta go see the rock idol from your musically-formative teen years. But yeah----my research cases show that at least 90% of all Americans ONLY like music from their teen years. After that--they ignore all other music. There are so many auditoriums in this city that serve as venues, that as I said---it's like Vegas & Branson. Yup. Okay---coming up: Alabamma, with special guest Marshall Tucker Band. Guess what? Gonna NOT see it. Waste of time and Money. See? And so on.542254225422

Sounds about right.

Okay---came across this gem in a local news outlet. But yeah---kinda validates what I been saying, about the local-yokel focus on music.5431

Okay----You kids know I study the Iwah syndrome, and its' powerful minority of people who call themselves "Farmers". They are not like Vietnamese subsistance farmers laboriously doing stoop labor to subsistence farm. No, not all all. They(Iwah farmers) are people who claim they are victims, non-stop, and live a very(xxx444) consumeristic life O' riley. Believe Me. But yeah---here's a picture o' one. Just seeing it annoys me intensely. They take everything for granted, but at the same time, complain like crazy. You bet. Maybe it is a cultural universal, and if so, now we know why Stalin(and Castro, et al)did what they did. Looka that---he loves to get out and DRIVE. Yup. Also, I have posted a farmers' truck, that he uses to go ta town once a month fer supplies, and waaaay upta 'Sooota ta fish-n-hunt, for fun. Ha. 5436543754445445

Okay----I'm interrupting my discussion of VERY important subjects, to post about a VERY important subject. Yup. It's a Killer Mom Alert. See photo.5448

Okay---This is interesting. Maybe. Ha. So anyway---I was looking on G maps, street view, and the stigmatized home on Amityville, NY. that was the subject of media scrutiny in the past, has the street view of the home blurred-out, but was wondering what the logic was, behind that. Yup. But yeah---do you kids have any idea?

I have read recommendations that one should get one's house blurred on Google maps so that potential housebreakers don't use the picture to help develop a strategy for B&E. So it might be that and just a coincidence that it is one of your stigmatized properties of interest.

So it might be that and just a coincidence that it is one of your stigmatized properties of interest. Yes, maybe so. I had someone "dox" me, on acccount of a tree out front that the city "trimmed" for the good of the people(ha) and screwed it up. But thats a story for another time. But yeah---blurring mifght be an ounce of prevention, in some cases. But, with the Ammmityville house and the old Clutter place, etc., it is wasted effort. Not gonna do any good. See?

Okay---I know summa you kids like cats, because they taste like chicken, but I keep 'em strictly as petts. So anyway-- here's a photo of my kitten that was living in my yard last summer for weeks, before I was able to catch her. She was pretty skinny & it was incredible that she could survive on her own at that age. But, now she has gotten plump (& yeah, she's a spay) and I have important projects to see to today, but she's currently napping on my lap. So, I have to wait until she is rested, before I can get up. Ha. But yeah---she's a dark grey marble tabby, though her markings are faint. She is very(x4444) lively, at times. Yup.5488

Awww... such a cutie. And the projects will wait - lap-napping cats are definitely the priority!

littlebittybobby
5-30-23, 11:51pm
She is so sweet; of course you must not disturb her!But yeah---You are so right. What I do is wake the catts gently, so they have advance notice that they must relocate, to continue their nap. Yup.

Awww... such a cutie. And the projects will wait - lap-napping cats are definitely the priority!Okay---On behalf of my littlebittykitty, I TYVM. I do not know how she got here; maybe some person follwing the lost petts FG-book page figured I could use another one. That being said---I do NOT care to go to shelters anyway. As if I need to. Another thing is----different catts have different personalities. Maybe not in as wide a range as people, but still, they do differ. I figure many of them lose their homes, because they don't meet their former "owners" expectations. But yeah--you prolly realize that. Just showing yopu I realize that.

Okay----I was doing some reasearch on Very Important Subjects, particularly those that are bizarre, strange, and tragic. Ha. As Usual. But I found something----not really trivial---but I was not aware of it. So anyway, in 1964, the Beatpools(your fav-o-rite group)went "on Tour" in the USA. This was in August-September. They were raking in the bucks on account of arenas packed with screaming teeny-boppers. Yup. They EVEN made a stop in Zurra, only after a promoter offered them 3-times their usual fee. But that's not the only thing. Their management had hired a small airline & a pilot(who happened to be the owner), to fly them around the country. But yeah--it went well, I guess. But, just two years later, the same plane/same pilot crashed while attempting to land at the airport in Ardmore, Okelhoma, killing 80-some people. But yeah---the very same plane & pilot! The crash investigators concluded that the pilot experienced a "medical episode", and lost control. Hope that helps you some. Thankk mee.5498

Okay----Just the other day, a little ol' 2006 Toyoda Carolla, driven by a 51-year old wummun, was on Hwy 39, that road I told you about, where the school teachers were hit after one o' 'em missed a stop sign? Well, the Carolla crossed the center line, and hit 5 motorcycles, head on. What a doofus. Yup. 4 people on the cycles were killed, several others went to the hospital, severely injured. All the vehicles were totaled, 'cordin to the hi-way batroll, but I bet I could fix at least one. But no---the ol' gal in the Carolla, managed to survive. Oh, boy. Didn't I tell you kids Traffic is Murder? Yup. Hope that helps you some.54995500

Okay----Thankks to gummmint largesse, I was able to expand my file cabinet collection by two units. Total cost: $1.78. These are really nice, though they're 27 years old, and I need to order a key(something that is pretty simple). So anyway, I drove----just got out and DROVE---my 1977 GMC the 6 miles over to the Conservation Commission maintenance "shed" which is a shop building that is built to last. Ceilings in the shop are prolly 16' high, and the whole thing has A.C.! But yeah---loaded 'em up and brought 'em home. I did make a stop at Aldis for vegetable oil(a staple of dog food) and Aldi choclit bars, and also 1/2 case of aldi canned catt food, which I use very sparingly, now. The catts had a package of sliced-up hott doggs for lunch. Hope that helps you some.

littlebittybobby
6-10-23, 4:26pm
Okay----Not sure if I showed you kids this Famous Grave in Iwah, but in case I didn't, here it is. So anyway---Don Jones was the unfortunate victim of a collision between the car he was a passenger in, and one driven by a guy who swerved into the oncoming lane and went sideways. See----the one who swerved was driving a 57 Chevy and his wife was a passenger who was an actress named Judy Tyler. They persished in the crash, too. But yeah---Judy Tyler had just finished making a Mooo-vee with Elvis, called; "Jailhouse Rock". It is a great moo-vveee, IF you like Elvis mooo-vvveees. See? But yeah----too bad no one had the foresight ta put those cars in a museum. Or at Graceland. Yup.552455255526

6-11-23, 4:58pm
Okay-----This just in. First I heard about it. But yeah---Ted--the so-called "Unabomber" arch-criminal has passed away in a prison hospital in North Carolina. So anyway---exact details are sketchy. More on this, as it happens. Thankk Mee.

He was 81, he died, yesterday, fini! Hope that helps you some.

littlebittybobby
6-11-23, 7:18pm
Okay----We'll hafta carry on a lengthy, lengthy thread discussing the unabomber manifesto. This, instead of moo-vveees, novels, tee--veee, trips to touristy places, and Alphabet People. Yup. I think there is a youtube video of the manifesto, but it's prolly all tied up for the moment. But yeah---I got the impression that like littlebittymee, Ted really didn't have an original thought. He may have coincidentally envisioned some ideas, but he wasn't the first to express them. Nope. That said, his malicious pranks did very little to promote his ideals. He did manage to convince many people they were the ideology of a maniac. Yup. So anyway---more on this later. Hope that helps you some.

littlebittybobby
6-17-23, 5:39pm
Okay----I just read this freaky incident in which some guy intentionally jumped off a "skywalk" tourist attraction owned by a local Indian Tribe at the Grand Canyon in Az. The Victim fell approximately 4000 feet. But yeah---my question is---is it the Tribes' Fault, or the state of AZ's fauilt, or the engineer who designed the skywalk structures' fault? Someone has to pay for this unfortunate incident. Yup.55465547

littlebittybobby
6-18-23, 7:33pm
5549Okay----I just learned the location of another stigmatized property in SFD., Mo. But yeah---there's a ho' lotta 'em! Anyway---it was the place of a dom ass murder/suicide awhile back. In fact--the one I told you kids about on my SFD, Mo. Crime thread. Prolly, a realiter would describe is as a "cute, cozy, fixer-upper for a couple just starting out". Yup.

littlebittybobby
6-18-23, 11:50pm
Okay----Today, I traveled a mile or two in my hood, in order ta pay my cell phone bill and ask 'em a question, and then go across the street to the Tool Store and the Dollars N' Sense chain store next door. So anyway: Mission Accomplished. But yeah--here's photos of the cool stuff I consumed. To be continued

littlebittybobby
6-22-23, 11:52am
Okay----This news just in. A vicious criminal waiting to be put to sleep, opted for DIY, like Epstein & Kaczinski. Yup. Saved prison officials the time. Hope they don't get in trouble. See photos. 55545555

6-25-23, 12:12pm
Okay----I've told you kids many times just how "Important" Football really is. But yeah---It's very, very, very, very, VERY important(x44444)! Yup. Especially college Football. Fer Sherr. So anyway---here's an example: a boy from a littlebitty town way up in the middle o' nowhere, goes ta college ta play football, for four years! Not just any college, but one that trains Doctors, Lawyers, Rocket Scientists, Lirrarrins, etc. That said--after 4 years a playin' football(which is VERY important), guess what?? He's in an office, in a littlebittytown, at a desk, sitting in front of a 'puter, on the phone, doing his VERY important job as as "Financial Advisor". Maybe even calling on a sodbuster at home. Selling investment "Product" for a commision. On par with a telemarketer or insurance salesperson. See? Yup. Isn't that remarkable? I told you football was VERY important. That being said, I wonder if he makes anywhere near as much as his former coach atstate U? Ha. Doubtful. P.S.--balling up your fist behind your bicep when posing for a photo is cheating. Sorry. 5568

Welcome back, glad you are OK and hope the pets are all doing well.okay--tyvm,rr. my wild kitten that eluded me for a month last summer, has grown into a plump and spoiled indoor catt. i named her mouse. yup. how do you like that? okay--i bid on a shelf scales at the juco, won them for a paltry amount, but the college welshed on me, kept the scales & comped me the shelf so i wouldnt go away mad. i use the shelf indoors with mini throw rugs as a cat condo. they like it. what do you think of that? okay---i went to the annual auto parts swap meet, where i generally spend/waste about $300 a year. it is 2 miles from my lovely hillbilly shack, btw. well---this year--guess what? a seller had a 58 studebaker-packer 4-sell aka for sale, and though it has lots of stuff that needs fixing$$$$, guess what? it is unbelievably solid! like every car i buy, it of course does not run at present, but that is a minor problem. but yeah---solid, solid, solid. how do you kids like that? envy mee. there was a metropolitan i was considering, if my studebaker packard deal fell through. more on this very interesting and important subject later. btw--no brakes, either. ha. no problem, though. hope that helps you some. thank mee. later.

I would thank youuuuu if you actually provided info on that Metropolitan.Okay. Here's what I know, FWIW. But yeah---as of last month, the people had their Metropolitan in storage at home over at Mount Vernon, Mo. She said she used to drive it, but not lately. Looked okay in a photo. Asking price was(I forget zackly, but under 5,ooo. I've never seen the car, don't know anything else except this contact email: Potterdaughter@gmail.com Hope that helps you some. Thank mee.

Okay I vacuumed out my new Packard, named it and got it some new shockk eggs orders. How do you like that?

littlebittybobby
9-18-23, 10:40pm
ETA correction shockk eggzorbers. Yup. Went on ebay and picked up a nice used horn ring. 58 Packards have always be the victim of media bias. Always. But automotive journalists have nothing but high praise for Chevy Cammerrows. Yup . Cammarros are perfect, 58 Packards are ree diculous, to a journalist. How do they know? Well, they parrot every other article. There aren't enough 58s around for every journalist to be familiar with them first hand. Cammerrows are like belly buttons, every body has had one. See? I don't like Elvis either, but many people still worship him. Hope that helps you some.

littlebittybobby
10-28-23, 9:14pm
Okay--Friday, I went to the wreckin" yard and pulled a steering column for my van. They changed to winter hours, so closed earlier. So yeah--today I went back and pulled the seat belts, ECM, Windshiel gasket, and two wheels. It was raining, so I didn't get the trailer hitch. Maybe tomorrow. Wish me luckk.

littlebittybobby
11-5-23, 10:20am
Okay---Since everybody knows cats are precious little creatures, and since I have a background as a disreputable cat breeder, that in order to make easy money, I am starting up my Cat ApprIsal Service Business. SEE?

littlebittybobby
11-9-23, 1:37pm
Okay---send me a photo or a video of your pett Catt, and I will give you an appraisal. Thank me.

littlebittybobby
11-9-23, 1:43pm
Okay---So, how many o' you kids own a 58 Packard? Or several? They are a very RARE car, much rarer than say--a Cammerow. Or whatever. RSVP.

littlebittybobby
11-17-23, 12:34pm
Okay---I been working on my nice new 1991 Van, described by the seller as in Poor condition ' But see---i'm like you kids---the wheels haven't fallen off, yet. So, that's good. I got a trailer hitch from the wreckin' yard, and also an aftermarket bulkhead and a tilt steering column that need work. So, yeah it's a solid van, and is making pross toward good condition. Yup.

littlebittybobby
11-18-23, 8:53pm
Okay---I got some miles in behind the wheel of my littlebitty modest economy car I saved at the wreckin' yard 6 years ago. But yeah--it's going on 17 years old. Anyway, I made a round trip of 106 miles, to look at an old junk car that a guy has for sale. It is all in pieces. Short story long, I negotiated for a pair of headlight bezels that are in very nice condition that fit 1958 Packard. I stopped at a gas station for gas, and there was big ol' depputty sheriff getting some mini-mart fried chicken. I did not have anything to eat on my trip. Hope that helps you some. Thanks mee. The cats were gladd to see mee, when I returned.

That deputy forgot to ask if the chickkin was local. Ha.

11-25-23, 1:58pm
Okay--Church guys boy told me about a large black Catt that's been living out back Yesterday, it was prowling around up front, but ran away Well, I put some food out, and it was gone later on. So, yeah--that cat may need a home Yup On drive-n-eat-stuffing day, I changed out 4 of the 5 doors. Still looking for the last one. As I said before--the seller stated that the van was in poor condition. But yeah--I will resolve that. Nobody these days can afford to "trade"(get screwed) for a nice new Broncho Cowpoke or huuuge Dodge Ram-it. That is insane. Hope that helps you kids some.

Nobody, LOL.

Yea, right, like the friend of mine who bought three matching electric Mustangs (that to me, look like a 78 Mustang II) and gave two away. Or his son, who bought two Bronco's, one regular and one sport for the daughters first car.
I have never had the kind of money my friends had. Doesn't mean they aren't out there.

bobby knows we bought a new Bronco Sport a few months ago. Even more galling, I have decided to trade it in after five years. I’m going to be one of those people who gets a new car every few years. I’m not going wait 14 years like I usually do for the old car to expire.

Jealousy abounds.

littlebittybobby
11-27-23, 12:48pm
Okay--jealousy abounds You kids envy a resourceful person like littebittymee, who can refurbish a vehicle after consumers have discarded it. My Hyundai was junked after the original owners drove it 10 years without changing the timing belt, and it snapped. It "wasn't worth" repairing, so they "traded"(got screwed) it in, and the dealer junked it. Also, the owner problems got tired of the sticky latch on the hatch, that requires yearly greasing. But yeah---the guy received an award from his guard unit for being a top flight copter mechanic, during his time in Afganistan. Ha

littlebittybobby
11-27-23, 1:05pm

Okay--rain was forecast for today, so after lining up the salvage doors on my van project and putting the glass in, I covered up the sofa that I salvaged at the wreckin yard with a tarp, and also tarped my classic 58 Packard, which is temporarily stored outside. But yeah---I need a break to get caught up on other stuff. Plus---(and this truly is a plus), I may be makingg

3-3-24, 1:31pm
Okay---1,2,3 testing. I say this because the other day, I logged in, posted a lengthy update on my VERY IMPORTANT SUBJECTS, and now---a few days later, it has vanished. Yup. I believe that some anti-free-speech people are harrassing me. Yup.

littlebittybobby
3-3-24, 1:49pm
Okay---At the wreckin' yard, there is this development: They have a Merc-O-ree Monarch and also a Ford Granada in their inventory. It is kinda sad about the Granada, because until recently, it apparently belonged to an employee of the big-box "Home Improvement" place near my house, that sells BBQ Grills, Potted Plants, and very costly building materials. Yup. I thought: I'd liketa have that Granada, even though I'm not a Ford Fanatic. But no--it's doomed. Anyway, I wenta the wreckin' yard, and took the four wheels & tires off the Monarch, and one of the two weelz off the Granada, hauled them home and then to the tire shop and demounted the tires, then took everything home and in my front yard, cut the old tires up and put them in the trash, so they could be LANDFILLED! Yup. I reckon you kids are wondering WHY I need Merc-O-ree weelz? Well, see---they are an upgrade for my prestige car, the VERY SOLID 58 Packard. More about this, later. Also, the Lady who was 15 when I started stalking her, has messaged me, just about every day. How do you like that? Also, I took in a spayed large female Brown Tabby before it got cold that had been at-large in the hood, kept her inside till last week, and let her out with a collar with my ph # on it, and she just diasappeared. Haven't heard from anyone, and I allow follow the lost pets deal on F-Book. So, hope she made it okay wherever she was going. Also, caught a glimpse of T Brown out back, the other day. Hope that helps you kids some. Thankk mee. Now, back to your regularly-scheduled programming of discussions about partisan politics, Alphabet people, trips to places for no good reason, and yummy restaurant meals. Next time, I'll discuss how IZ went to a pizza place, here in Nowhereville. Ha.

littlebittybobby
3-7-24, 8:33pm
Welcome back, Bobby. Hope the female tabby is OK. Thank You, very much, RR. I haven't heard anything about the kitty. She is a very large brown tabby, and very mild mannered. Yup. Hope she made it to where she was intending to go. In other news, I'm still working on my projects, especially my vintage 1991 Chevy G20 Van. GM stopped making that style after 1996, after about 25 years, and there were literally millions of them around. Now, they are getting scarce, even at the wreckin' yard. I already had some spare parts, but I also invested more in NEW parts than I paid for this vehicle. It is, however, VERY solid. Unlike something you see from Iwah or Minnahsooota or Wahskonsun or Michigan. Or, Massachusetts. Someday, I will post a whole laundry list of stuff I have done, to refurbish that van. I estimate that if you took it in to your authorized, factory-train service department, that the total bill would tally in at around $57,697. 67 Yup. Anyway---The only consolation to the Big Tabby absconding is that I still have some awesome & amazing catts that are glad to have food, shelter and catts attention, who are not inclined to run away. That scrawny little gray kitten that was at-large in my yard summer-before-last is now a plump indoor catt who loves companionship(mee). So are the others. See? As I type this, a security guy with a Handgun just walked by me. They are no doubt keeping an eye on me, because I probably look suspicious. Don't you agree? Also, I went to the wreckin' yard and pulled a set of wheels off a Merc-O-ree Monarch, 79 model. Why? well--because those weelz will be an upgrade to my very solid 58 Packard. See--Monarch weelz are 14 x 6, and not rusty, while my Packard came with 14 X 5's that are very rusty, and won't hold air. Merc-O-ree wheels are better suited for Radial tyres, too. The only thing is, I hafta replace ALL the lug nuts(I got the Monarch nuts), and then 10 lug studs on the left side, because in 58, S-P used left-hand studs on the left side. So did Chrysler. I'm still keeping in touch with my stalking victim(back when she was 15 & I, 16). She's prolly gather up all the info so the police can make a case. But see---there isn't a case, because 1)I didn't intend to harm her or make any threats; and B)She says she has absolutely no recollection of me from 55 years ago. Now, I am flattered, because that shows how competent I am at following and surveilling someeone! See? Hope that helps you kids some. Did lefty candy-dates get enough votes to suit you? Ha. No answer required. Thankk Mee. Later.

okay----news update, as-if you kids could care less.  ha.  but yeah---my big brown tabby that evidently could not find her way home after two weeks is enjoying herself immensely in her own room, with her own food dish and her own water dish and her own bed and frequent attention from meee.  she haas it made!  yup. also, i put her former room mate in with her, since a)they cohabit pretty well and: b) curley-q was sleeping on one o' the other catses' pillow a lot, and the other cat didn't like it  was calling her out.  it did not seem like the bbt lost much weight, but yeah---she's a basically large-framed cat, and after a week or two on the feedbag, she's real hefty. yup.  gotta keep those dishes full.   okay---besides the restoration project of my backyard cottage and my classic studebaker-packard and my classic 1991 chevy g20(which i'm refitting with ford f250 rear springs), i've been keeping track of that person i used to stalk back when she was just 15 in the wilds of alaska.  well, she says she has enough problems, without needing to worry about littlebittymee.  so no, she ain't skeered.  prolly keeps a pistol under her pillow.  she is very lovely, i will tell you that.  can you blame me?  also, it's extremely windy here, today, so i'll have lots of YARD WORK picking up tree limbs and loose trash in the yard.  i wish you kids could see the nice file caqbinets & those gmc insomnia doors i scored at the wreckin' yard. (envy meee ha)  anyway, hope that helps you kids some.  thankk mee.

okay------i just know you kids will be pleased to know that i decided to replace the rear axle assembly in my poor condition gov't surplus van, with a good, garnteed used one from the self-service wreckin' yard. you know how i love going shopping at the wreckin' yard; to me, it's like one a them foreign vacations you kids liketa take. yup. but, due to the nature of this particular task, i hadta wait until i was in the right frame of mind and had the zact set of hand tools i needed ta get the job done. see? so, yeah---day after easter egg day i went to the other wreckin' yard, some 15 miles away, cause the one close by was out of stock on that particular item. they HAD two of 'em, but they too just a little bit too crush-happy, so i hadta opt for the place that keeps vehicles on the lot longer, to find one. see? due ta the distance, i saved on gas by going over there in my littlebitty 17-year old subcompact economy car that i bought at the other wreckin' yard, seven years ago this month. i then loaded the drive axle assembly in the back, and hauled 'er home. to be continued. rhak mee.

okay----a few misc very important things, here. <first of all, thankk mee for summa the punctuation i been utilizing when it doesn't consume too much time and energy on my part. i know you kids think: lbb, why don't you just grow up and conform to the rules of english composition? well, just think o' this: your very favorite people (next to ukrainians and alphabet people) are those indigenous people that used to occupy the continent and guess what? they had something like 700 dialects and almost no written language. yup. so go set them straight on the rules, then, get back to mee. but yeah---one a springfields most noted people, gyspsy blanchard has taken a break from her relationship with the guy who was there to meet her at the prison gates when she was released from custody after serving a term for orchestrating the murder of her mom. yup. i guess being with that guy just wasn't a role she wanted to play, anymore. but yeah--prolly dr grande would speculate(but not diagnose her, mind you) that gypsy prolly has unresolved issues. yup. to bee continued.

on the way out ta the wreckin' yard, i passed the spot where the one couple in a nice, new Dodge Ram monster pickup crossed the centerline, went through the cables in the median, and slammed head-on into a couple in their minivan who were on their way home from St Lo. in Nov. of '22. but yeah---all were killed, except an infant in the back of the minivan. But yeah---it was a cold sleeting T-Day Eve, but they all hadta drive-n-eat, i guess. but---i could not find the zact spot, as there apparently is no roadside memorial, for some reason. oh well. yup.

okay---here is a car i would recommend for everyone. it is supposed to be some kind of fiat, made somewhere or otherl. but see---i call it a pinhead car. don't ask mee why ha but anyway---see photo thankk mee oh yah---one other thing---it is a very(x4444) SAFE car, cause people driving one would be extra careful NOT ta get in a wreck cause they'd get smooshed.l yup.57905790

okay-----here is something i been following on F-book. its a group that has to do with reflections in a general way about Fairbanks, Ak, middle-o-nowhere. What you have are two classes of people who log on seeking info from the local base group. The first is newbies usually from the west coast, sandy eggo, for example, inquiring as to where they can get the luxuries(to them essential staples) found back home. They usually are gummint or corparate transferees to nowhereville(Fairbanks) who need help adjusting. Like where to get their Subbarroo fixed n all kinds of stuff. The second group that asks all kinds of dumb questions is the touristy people who need the comforts of back home on a trip up north. But yeah, it makes for entertaining reading. Humorous remarks are welcome. Ha. Hope that helps you kids some. But mainly---it's the long-time locals or former residents catching up on current developments in FB,Ak.

okay-----guess what? i just found this out and didn't know whether i should post it under emergency preparedness or what---but i will roll the dice and post it here. but yeah----(drum roll)--- Joe Bonamassa is coming back to town at least for the 3rd time & its always a sellout show. so anyhow----just like you need eye pertection to view an eclipse, you need ear pertection to listen to Joe make loud noises! Yup. the tickets haven't gone on sale yet, but the permoters made the announcement so you kids can start saving your money. yup. hope that helps youi some. thankk mee. (see photo)

okay----i got a brilliant idea whereby i would open up a VERY trendy little resto-raunt for people who are adventurous & like to drive-n-eat, as a form of recreation. but nooo----it won't specialize in serving Ukrainian food that i know you kids find very yummy & delish. OR great big slabs o' custom-processed lockered meat, either. but yeah----it will bee a place called: The Guinea Pig(caps here)with a lab animal motif, and be serving up summa my experimental recipes! Yup. no two meals are zaclky the same, each one is slightly different. this way, we get to try out our chefs' (mee) cooking on our patrons. Yup. how doo you like that? as kind of a novel touch of class, we will have our customers sign a notatized waiver of liability, before they are seated. so, anyway i'm looking at good locations in a touristy place, and i figure that vacant commercial building at the bottom of stoned hill in herman, zurra would be excellent. yup. just waiting for my sba loan to be approved and stuff. hope that helps you some. parking space for enormous suvs will be made available. thankk mee.

okay----it's been threatening to rain all day, and finally, it did. I took a slide hammer puller from oreillys and yanke the wheel bearings and seals outta my new used wreckin' yard rear end assembly. see---i'm using nice new wheel bearings and seals in it PLUS i suddenly remembered before falling asleep last night that i had a good used 10 bolt "governor lock" pozzi carrier assy out back that i got at the wreckin' yard prolly 25 years ago. yup. i went out and looked about where i thought it was, and there it was. so, i cleaned up a bit and inspected it a bit and took 'er dowwntown to a lil ol' bizness that sells stuff for rear ends and transmissions and bought a nice, new set of carrier bearings and asked them to press them on, because it takes VERY special kind o' tools to do it efficiently. then, i went to food-for-less and also walmart to get great big large economy-sized bags o' pett food(their favorite kind) and yummy canned food(their favorite kind) and hot doggs, too. Food 4 less has the best hot doggs in town. yup. so yeah---upwards of a $100 for pet chow and then of course---gotta feed littlebittymee, too right? ($25) so a loafa bread & some on-sale toona plus canned tomatoes, etc. yup. but yeah----you kids'l prolly say: why spend all that money on pett food, whenya could use them same money ta broaden your horizons and see the world and sit onm a planes for hours on end hoping it don't crash or come apart like summumum do? yeah---take a trip to bulgaria or even you kidses FAVORITE country---ukrainia! Yup. but no thanks. also, you kid prolly'd say why waste all your time n' money on those old, junk cars that don't even run, when you could go on down ta Jim Shortaller Olds-Plymouth-Merc-O-ree and drag-push-pull your old clunker along and TRADE(get screwed)on a nice, clean, safe, dependable NEW vehicle like nice people have? but yeah---good question. someday you'll figure it out. yup. got a case example for ya--a nice lady up in fairbanks, alaska showed us this(see photo). but yeah---should be self-explanatory. click to enlarge. hope that helps you kids some. thankk mee. yup.58045804

5805oh, yeah---another thing is--the topic on "Birks" elsewhere on this forum reminds me of the kind of questions frequently seen on the Fairbanks, Ak F-book group. meaning, you have newcomers to that area asking for recommendations on where to buy "Birks" and other stuff like swimwear in Fairbanks. ha. that's one of the joys of following the group. oh--and then you have the baby momma types w/pets "looking for affordable housing". well, there is sort-of affordable housing; mainly for indigenous people on gummint assistance. yup. but, other than that---in Fairbanks? ha. got to bee kidding, right?

okay-----i know darn well there's a thread elsewhere where we can let everybody know what we been readin' lately, but here's a book i ran across but did not purchase, for the simple reasson that the price is more than i'd pay for any bookk! unless, of course it was an author-autographed copy of "In cOLD bLOOD". i might consider paying $20, for thatt. Ha. It was edited out of the draft of the book, but Dickk's last words were: "what's all the fuss about ?---they were just farmers!" yup. but yeah---now garden city, ks is better known as home to one a the largest meat-packing plants in the country! yup. so anyway----here's a biography for you kids(see photo).58135813581358135813581358135813

TYVM, RR. but yeah---soon as i find a cheap copy from illwill or whatever on ebay, i'll get one. the quick bio i read said he ended up in a home for mentals after his longtime manager passed, but did not like it. so, someone else got him out of there, and put him back in show biz, (so to speak) where he was more comfortable. interesting. yup.

okay----you kids are plolly sitting there wondering how i'm doing on my projects & stuff. well---okay--my van steering column was perfectly good & was the one thing that didn't need work but guess what? it wasn't a "tilt" column. so yeah---i went back to my parts warehouse and retrieved a tilt column i've had stored since about 2009, but turns out it needed some repairs; it is very loose. so, last fall, i went ta the wreckin' yard where the van from up north that is VERY rusty was, and pulled the column out of it. so anyway---that column had a nice dee-luxe-type steering wheel with it, but had an issue with something making a scraping noise when you'd turn the weel. so yeah----it needed work.. so, i disassembled them both to use the good parts on one & see what was wrong. I ended up going ta the wreckin' yard to scavenge more parts, especially the stalks for the tilt and the turn signal & wipers. they were lying on the floor of a pickup that some other custom had torn apart the collumn to get some bits and pieces, of i don't know what manya the customers don't know jack about actually fixing anything; they just ruin stuff at the wreckin' yard. anyway---i got stymied on the column, while reassembling it in the house garage during the dead o' winter. but when it warmed up, i took it outside in broad daylight while wearing reading glasses, i determined that the column from the wreckin' yard had that scraping sound because evidently, someone had previously "fixed" it, but assembled it WRONG. okay---got that straighted out. so anyway----got the overhead lights in one room of my backyard cottage installed. now, to do the others. what needs to happen is for us to have extended clear weather instead od like living in Florida w/swampland. Yup. You won't see me visiting there. Nope. Hope that helps you some.

okay-----it's been raining and raining and raining. yeah sure===it stops for awhile, then resumes raining. see? one o' my cats

(moomee)stayed outside overnight, because I gave up tryinta get her in, while the other one ran inside, mo problem. but yeah---this morning, 7:30 am, there she was on the porch, half-drenched, looking like a housecat that got left out in the rain, when i know darn well she has hiding spots to stay dry. so anyway---i opened a can o' num-nums cat food and got her in to the laundry room, where she has stayed in bed all day, resting and getting dried out. yup. hope that hlps you kids some. thankk mee.

Glad to hear you are making progress on your projects. TYVM, RR. Yup. Now---here's a photo o one a my finished projects for you kids ta see(see photo) but yeah---it was partially completed and had been used when i bought it at the scrap metal yard several years ago. but i got some nice 1/8" sheet metal and made a single piece to put on the top. then, gave 'er a quick paint job. the casters were on there, but stuck, so i took 'em off and got them freed up. so, it's good to go. it is a low-boy assembly table. how do you like that? 58365836

Very nice. What will you use it for? TYVM, RR, for axxing mee that quession. i used my two-wheeler to lug it waaaay out back to my backyard cottage, and set it in there to use as my coffee table, until such time as i need it to assemble something while seated in my metal folding chair. I found a piece of 3/4" plywood to fit in on the lower level of it as a shelf for stuff. but yeah---it's gonna be very useful. yup. so anyway--did anya you kids notice the catt looking out from behind the table on the upper right?

5-5-24, 1:55am
Nope - I had missed the cat; it must have been inspecting your work!Yup, she prolly was. Like most catts---especially Brown Tabbies--she is very curious. So anyway----something very important that I've noticed is that if you order some small part offa ebay or other company, is that you can count on it arriving much sooner if it is shipped from the west coast or anywhere north or south of us, like Mn. or Tx. just forget about very important stuff being shipped from out east. Better be prepared to wait---they ain't in a hurry. Nope. But yeah---hope that helps you kids some. if you hafta pay a nickle more to a vendor out west, all else being equal; do so. thankk mee.

okay------lemme tell you kids something----i know you all been sitting there, watching tee-vee foo-baw, tee-vee bassabaw, tee-vee basebaw and so on. Bo-ring. but yeah---i been doin' something better. yup. i been sitting around, watching old videos of perfessional midget wrestling! yup. it is very entertaing & exciting and the crowd goes wild when their favorite lands a punch. yup. also, another good thing is that the concept is deemed VERY(x4444) politically incorrect by the National Associon of Midgets. So, that's a plus. I would hope there will be a tournament of midget wrestlers here in Zurra at the shrine mosque, venue for all things tasteless. yep. hope that helps you some. thankk mee.

okay-----i know you kids could care less about steering columns, 'cause when mosta you start having issues with the steering column in your subbbarrooo or whatever, you figure that prolly the wheels are about to fall off, too, so it's just about time to "trade"(get screwed) it in on a nice, clean, safe NEW one like the other people in your 'hood have in their three-car garage. Yup. so anyway----here's a photo of my refurbished & repaired steering colummn, for my van project. I spent most of an hour looking for the keys to the five door locks to add to the column lock key. But yeah----they were right in my pocket, all along! ha. I'm gonna go to the farm supply store and have copies made, as the ig sw key is worn. but yeah---see photo. hope that helps you some. 584458445844

5-7-24, 9:45am
Bobby. 3 photos. Really? can you delete 2? okay-----in all seriousness, faux---the darn thing is highly erratic in as to whether it will spit out zero photos or two, three or four or more. yup. an then---it won't allow littlebittymee to delete the redundant ones. nope. it's just like when i was unable to even log in for several months, awhile back. no explanation, but now it is working fine. not only that, but i didn't even know anyone read this stuff, SO boring is it. yup. but yeah---it is a tech prollem, not a malicious and spiteful prank or whatever on my part. see? hope that helps you some. thank mee. but yeah----ii got to thinking---what if all 12,000 SL members resumed posting again, and putt the mandatory one-photo-only of their beloved pett catt on here. what would happen then? seems like it would place a terrible overload on the system, here. well, wouldn't it? so, anyway----i had two special little wires for the steering column that connect the steering weel to the turn signal canceling cam, which also carries current to operate the horn. well, one o' the wire assemblies is longer than the other, and i used the short wire on the column you see, but yeah---it is too short. sooo, i made a special trip out back and traded the other wheel off the van for the longer wire i had with it, and gave it the short wire, which fits fine on the old wheel. see? that's one of many reasons why this part of the project ate up time. that, and also the fact that i waited all week for a new turn signal canceling cam to arrive via usps, and finally went to autozone and bought 2 because they had them on hand, used one and when the one i ordered finally arrived, that gave me two spares. that is a critical part that i may need maybe every 5 or ten years, but in 5 or ten years, they might stop carrying them, since they fit 1969-2002 models w/tilt column. see? so yeah---now you kids know why i have those file cabinets. yup. hope that helps you some, too. thankk mee.

okay-----guess what? i gotta have posi in my van that i bought in "poor condition". so anyway---the rear drive axle assembly needed to be COMPLETELY replaced, so i took my tools & went waaaaay out back at the other wreckin' yard, and pulled one out've a 94 model, in good shape. but, i decided i'd use an Eaton "G80" aka Governor Lock posi I've had here for years. Well, it FIT, and i got the backlash set, but then---0the axles would not go in. different spline count! axles:30, posi:28. Ever had that happen, before? well, there are no parts vendors for those posi's even though GM offered them for half a century! i called around to the gear shops here, and they said negatory, even on used gears! so, anyway----my only real option is a cheap, chinese knockoff posi, 'cause i gotta have posi to do bleach burnouts! yup. more on this, later.

littlebittybobby
5-14-24, 11:23am
okay-----guess what? i wenta the wreckin' yard sundy; actually TWO wreckin' yards, one of which i dont go to very often & the other where i am a regular patron. well----since the last time i was there, coupla weeks ago, they got a 1990-model chevy g20 in; it's an "Anaheim" conversion, and it was pretty nice in its' day, and still not too bad. darn shame they junked 'er; you know what? i'll bet the only thing wrong with it was the steering column had that infamous wiggle, and the owner gave up tryin' ta get somebody ta fix it, so they "traded"/junked it! so anyway----since it arrived at the yard, the workers damaged it beyond repair with the forklift & other stuff they do to set it out in the yard, and THEN some other patron got in it and pulled ALL the locks out of it---ignition & all 4 doors, doing MUCH damage in the process. but yeah--it had very little rust & good paint and a very , very nice interior specvially for one 30 years old! darn shame how WASTEFUL america is! just like my G80 posi; called around toparts shops and they said those aren't serviceable, due to no spare parts. see? so, anyway, i salvaged some bits n pieces i needed for my ol' van, such as the "chevrolet" nameplate on the rear door and i'm gonna go back in a couple days and grab some pieces outta the column that the other patron left behind when they ripped it apart to get the ignition lock. oh, well. i briefly considered salbvaging the seats and carpet outta that one, then canceled the idea. already got seats that're more spartan , anyway. hope that helps you kids some.

Okay---after many starts and stops, i got a REAL pozzi put in my wreckin'-yard-new rear end assy. did this out in my driveway and it sat there for two weeks, while i waited onparts and waited for it to stop raining. Yup. but, the asian-made carrier is in there, with new side bearings, new wheel bearings & seals and new inspection cover gasket, and of course--the stabilized offa a '98 suburban. hadta weld up some brackets to set it on(see photo), and new links for it(not shown. But yeah, i drug it out backk, and prolly tomorrow I'll put the springs on and the rear end in and the new shockk eggzorbers on, AFTER I fill the axle with 2.5+ quarts o' gear lube and 4 oz of Ford Motorcrap friction modifier for pozzis. yup. how do like that? won't be long, an' i'll be doing bleach burnouts while spinning BOTH weelz? yup. and oh yeah---you kids see that red air sander sitting on the ceement under the rear end? i've had that thing for 50 years, later this year. still works good, 'cause a few years back i took 'er apart and overhauled it with new factory parts. yup(see photo)5903

okay----here's something about the tough-guy dimwits on motorcycles whose leader drove into the path of a dodge ram truck pulling an unloaded gooseneck trailer. of coure the media did their best to stir up a sxxxxstorm of outrage about a druggie immigrant driving without a license. i've already discussed this in priour posts. but yeah---at the approximate crash site, they've got a memorial w/crosses(7), i guess reminding us that those murdercyclists were crucified, i guess. people are dumb, and compound their dumbness. right? (see photo). but yeah----what's that gonna do, except keep a constant reminder to the homeowner directly across the street that yeah---a real bad & preventable wreck happened there, five years ago. okay----today was memorial day, but no i didn't go out and decorate the graves of soldiers who died needlessly in this country's senseless destruction-fest wars combating all the "--isms". so, anyway--it was the anniversary of the birthday of littlebittymee, so i figured i'd celebrate, not with a drive-n-eat and some stupid rocck concert(are you serious?), but by rewarding myself with a nice practical gift. but yeah---i packed my tool box & went the 3 miles over ta the 7-day-a-week wreckin' yard, got out and got under a 34-year old clunker, an' pulled the transmission & loaded it in my 17-year old subcompact economy car that has no prestige, whatever. Yup. (see photo) That particular trans was made for many zillions of 80's-90's Chevies, but they're gonna get scarce. You bet. So yah---it's good to have a spare on hand. 5913

okay----i don't know if i told you kids about the new batch of lateral file cabinets i purchased. i bid lower than a snakes' belly for them, and saw a couple bidders creeping up on me, but when the dust settled, i was the lucky prevailing bidder. yup. due to rain, bouts of phone tag withg the sellers rep, and having to line up someone to assist me(at the sellers insistance--I prolly coulda done it myself, but oh, well. anyway, these cabinets are prolly 15-20 years old, but in great shape & even have keys. they are still available from HON for about $1500 each. But anyway, i had done some preliminary measuring, and they will fit neatly in the back room of my outdoor cottage. but first, i needta get 'em off the trailer and back there. thing is, i also needta remove an old shelf i put back there & clear stuff outta the way. you kids are welcome to stop by & help me. ha. okay---then today i went 3 miles out by the county park where there is a family who sells plastic barrels & pallets & stuff. So yeah---i got two plastic barrels. they have two bulldoggues du francaise that came out side to greet me and sniff me for cat-traband. ha. they are little characters and even got into a little fracas with each other. needless to say, neither could do any harm, due to their mouths & teeth being pushed so far back in their head; they really can't bite anything. ha.

I missed the opportunity a couple of times to buy or take filing cabinets, etc. from my former employer. It would have been good solid storage for the cellar. Oh well. okay---would be good if you acquire some o' them obsolete file cabinets. but yeah---one thing---i advise using aluminum tape ta seal up the vent holes in the bottom o' the cabinets. also, even get on ebay & acquire a set o' four steel casters to attach to the bottom, so they can be rolled around, occasionally. this also keeps them up off a damp floor, too. drawback is, the casters usually cost more than the cabinet. but, it is worth it. so anyway---i resolved the prollem with my driveshaft using an old 4x4 racers trick. see---about 40 years ago, in a quest for throwing their cars together cheaper, GM started gluing theit u-joints in the driveshafts. or, i should say their supplier did. well, prolly not 1 in 10 vehicles ever have the ujoints replaced before they are "traded"(given away) and "recycled"(as scrap metal). Usually, it is pickups that ever see nice, new ujoints. well, not many car jocks ever install their own ujoints, either. it is dirty works. see? the few DIYers wioll tell you sure--ya take a mapp gas torch & heat the ujoint till the glue melts, then push the ujoint out with a press & then ya put the new ones in and hold 'em in with c-clips supplied with the new u joint. <<<that's how they do it. but guess what? they probably will still have too much play, from side to side! so, what i do is what 4 x4 people do to theirs, and that is after i get the crosses in, i adjust them so they are free to flex, not tight. if they are loose, i tap the cap in that sticks out the farthest to take up the play. Then, run the joint on a wire wheel so it's clean, and place two nice solid tack welds on there to hold the cap in, and quench it with a wet rage, so it won't melt the grease or otherwise damage it. see? hope that helps you some. thankk mee.

While Dr. Todd is careful too say at the beginning of everyone of his videos that he doesn’t diagnose people he talks about, if he is a licensed therapist I think he’s treading close to problematic behavior in professional ethics.

I like the behavior/body language analysts on YouTube. The Behavior Panel is great, all four of them. Martin Decoder can be pretty funny in his deadpan delivery.

https://la.curbed.com/2017/10/20/16476232/hotel-barclay-history-downtown tyvm, RR. okay----the last few decades have seen the tourism business use the claim that their property, hotel or whatever is haunted. the old theater downtown that i toured last spring is 100 years old, and the projector operator who worked there 36 years died on New years eve, back in the 60's, before a midnite moo-veee. so, the management likes to claim it's haunted. see? most claims of "paranormal activity" are made by tourist businesses located in buildings that are known in the real estate business as "stigmatized properties". though the gummmint generally defines a stigmatized property as one where there has been activities in the use/sale/manufacture of illicit drugs OR a recent violent crime. take your pick. but private residences? well, it depends. one house in my hood was stigmatized, after a murder occurred there. another house further down, was also stigmatized for the same reason. but life goes on. the house two doors down is (i guess) kinda stigmatized because the husband fatally shot himself in their car, several years ago, and last month his wife died in the home of ??? she'd been ill for several years. but yeah---like somebody said (not mee) on the WTF Springfield f-book group awhile back---if every house or building here where someone died suddenly/tragically was haunted, that'd be about every other one, after awhile!. ha. so anyway----the couple who passed operated a berry farm out back. when the place goes to auction, should i buy 'er, grow u-pick berries, and offer(for pay) guided tours/seances/overnite stays in the house? your call. ha. but, it's weird. no disrespect to my departed neighbors; i knew & liked them. i'm disappointed their lives took a turn for the worse. yup. hope that helps you some. thankk mee.

okay-----loosey was from noo yawk, and she died young (77) from too many ciggerrettes. she also was so VERY zany & wacky, that in the 1930's, she joined the Communist party! but, later on, became VERY wealthy due ta her show-biz enterprises. yup. so, annyway, i procrastinated in goin' ta the wreckin' yard last week, due ta the heat wave. but yeah---i finally made it late in the weekend, and it unbelievavbly toook the better part o' two days ta pull a good, complete motor. not ALL of two days, but still longer than it shoulda. there were several mitigating factors---heat(not extreme, but warm), humidity(very humid); the fact that the motor was in a van situated in a wreckin' yard on acres of gravel, among a 1000 other vehicles and surrounded by an 8-foot high iron fence. So yeah---that makes it hotter. on day two, they had a fire at the wreckin' yard, which added to the excitement! yup. but, anyway---'cordin' to my research, i am in a group that are more prone to "heat exhaustion", so yeah---i am not one o' those victims who use it to be a big wimp; i just pace myself take reasonable precautions, so i don't start "seeing stars". yup. on day two, two separate good samaritans saw me in the process of hoisting that good, complete motor outta the van, and said buddy---d'ya need a hand with that? but, i tollem i needed ta do it my way, so bug off< not really; i thanked them because the liftout was still in progress, and didn't need brute force at that point. i still needed to remove the wiring harness for the fuel & ingition system; i don't just cut everything. that motor had a nice, new radiator hose on it, but one a those people had just cut it, pulling thee radiator, a week or two prior. they'd also cut the cooler lines from the "tranny" to the radiator, just to save a couple minutes! see? but yeah---that's expediency, for ya. so, anyway, i got that COMPETE used motor home in the back o' my 77 GMC professional-grade truck. yup. part 2: needta crank that motor over, and drop some oil down the cylinders, asap. hope that helps you some. thankk mee.

okay------i diassembled that perfectly good wreckin' yard motor in order to freshen it up this weekend, and i am doing a preliminary assessment on how i will approach this project. i also have a parts stash that is sitting there, needing to be used at some point. i have a set of "take-off" heads that a guy from up in some little burg had on a "crate motor", a nice new engine from GM. he had it in a 67 chevy 2, but prolly the cool people told him those kinda heads were NOT what the cool people have, so he pulled 'em, and put the impressive ones on. i verified this on the net, because there he was, at a car meet, with his old chevy. well, he said he was headed to spfd to see his daughter play bassabaw at the college, and would drop them off at walmart, so he did. i paid $75 for a pair of very lightly-used cylinder heads, which all the cool people are not cool because they were made specifically for trucks & vans and family sedans. but yeah---i may as well use them, instead of spending upwards of $300 on a valve grind on the engine project. even though the cam & lifters are not worn excessively, that series of engine used pathetically modest timing specs, to achieve fuel economy, emissions control, and a smooth idle. but they have low out-put, compared to the '97-up chevy pickup engines that have the cool heads and a cool cam, etc. but yeah---i have a new cam & lifters I will use & a timing set & oil pump. i wont throw anya the old parts away, as i have another engine i can use them in. See? but yeah---the debate is whether to load the block & other parts & take them to a motor machine shop for a bath in the chemical dip tank, and of course new core plugs and cam bearings. plus, a professional opinion on bore sizes crank journal sizes. i have mics, but they have dial bore gages and mics, also. i've got a new set of "flat tops" in std bore that i bought for another project, but when will i get to it? so, i may use them NOW, on this one. yup. and then---last but not least---two o' my catts require veterinary treatment plus i had to stock up on flea meds, etc., so there goes $400+ dollars. plus--i am still working on my other projects. so there's that. you kids---since you all seem to have mooolah to burn on trips, fancy-schmancy rest-o-rants, new vehicles, turnkey remodeling projects, etc., etc., etc.,so you are welcome ta send littlebitty impoverished mee a cash donation that i can use toward my humble projects. yup.

okay-----i was reading a little something about the summer of 1816, which was an event i had not heard of before. so anyway, that year is noted as having had VERY cold weather during the summer, particularly in north america and Europe. it is said to have caused crop failures on both continents, which also resulted in migration(of people) to other regions. yup. well see---the cold weather was attributed to a volcanic eruption in Indonesia the previous year, which sent particulate into the atmosphere, partially blocking sunlight, kind of like the Eruption of Mt St. Helens. but yeah---i still wonder about that, because indonesia is on the equator, which is far south of the areas affected. Plus, i don't recollect hearing that Mt St Helens caused any crop failures, but maybe there's no comparison. i guess i need to further study the subject, and if i find anything worthy of note, i will get back to you kids. hope that helps you some. thankk mee.

okay---update on my motor project. so anyway---there's been some cost overruns. yup. the whole deal was supposed to be: freshen up a perfectly good 118,000-mile motor, out in my driveway, using parts i had on hand. See? well, i been busy DIY-ing it, AMAP. Cleaning up parts, etc. but then, i thought: lets use this new water pump i had sitting in the file cabinet. then: let's take the block and have it tanked & let the tech install the cam bearings & freeze plugs(parts i had on hand) & let him hone the cylinders, too. this saves time & mess out front. while we're at it, lets take the crank(which i assumed was usable as/is) to the only machine shop oreillys has, located next to corporrate HQ in a nook in an out-of-the-way spot. okay---they checked it, said it needed reground, which will necessitate another set of bearings, since i won't be able to use the new set i already had on hand(since 2015). Total cost of all of that: approx. $500. Shoot---that would've been money better spent toward a trip, somewhere, right? ha. plus---i bought another upgrade--a set of Hastings Rings. Plus---the heads i bought several years ago, supposedly 100% good, as-is? well, just to be sure, a teardown revealed several pitted intake valves, though the exhausts were pretty good. So, i changed out all 8 intake valves---$70, for cheap ones. also, some amateur(like me) had assembled them apparently without checking the installed spring height, so it was way off. so, $30 for a set of spring shims. But yeah--the heads apparently are off a 1-ton truch, as they have larger-stem exhaust valves & rotators on both intake and exhaust. I will delete the intake rotators. then, i was diassembling the throttle body to soak, clean & kit it(kits are now $35, but i had one here), and broke the two screws off that retain the TPS sensor. ooops. luckily, i was able to drill the screws out & chase the threads using a littlybitty tap i bought awhile back for another project. so, i hafta go chase down a coupla screws & will get some extras, to have on hand. Plus, may as well replace the gizmos on the throttle body, while i'm at it. how do you like that? why o why didn't i just sign on the dotted line, and take delivery on a nice, safe, clean, NEW Subbbarooo or Toyota? After all--everyone KNOWS they run forever, no problem. then use the cash i spent screwing around with a 34-year old JUNKYARD motor & unsightly eyesore that is nickle-and-diming-me-to-death, and use that CASH for trips & yummy restaurant meals, instead? Ah, yes--gay Pareee! I just can't understand why. oh, well. Wish me luckk. now, back to my regularly-scheduled programming. thank you & of course--thank mee. Yup.

But yeah--my partial list, so far: The Eye-Ful Tower. THE most useless structure ever built. Cut it for iron, and ship the scrap to china. Yup. 2)pyramids in egypt. Well, I've got other projects, after they finish those. It won't be necessary ta "jet set" ta europe ta eat snails & truffles, now will it? Oh yeahj----they need to complete the demolition of (the former) Roman Coliseum. Move that one up the list. Plus, the Greek Acropolis. Okay. Will be back on this list---it will be a long one. okay---got my nice, new valve spring installed-height checking micrometer, and it works great! so, anyway--about half of the spring seats in each head required a shim, to bring it to spec. The heads had 0 shims, and no doubt it would've run, but still....I wonder what the story is on those heads. They are a newer casting than my 90-model engine, have 3/8" exhaust-valve stems, and rotators on I and E. My research says they are intended for 1-ton trucks & other HD applications. But yeah--Glad I disassembled them to check them. One thing though-----I misplaced one of the spring rotators. Looked all over for it. Possibly it will turn up. Okay---The Media loves to cover wimmmins bassabaw "star" Caitlin Clark, and constantly shows videos of her thowin' a bassabaw an' runnin' aroun da sistahs. But, yeah---I was concerned about her ancestry and I looked at a photo of her and though she's a Clark & from ZIwah, I deduced from her photo that she has Italian Ancestry & prolly eats lots of pizza & spaghetti, which is very possible since swhe's also a Catholic from DesMo and attended Dowling. Well, I read her lenghty bio on wikipedia, which had tons and tons of stats about her career, but at the end it says she is Eye-talian from her mama's side. Yup. Figures. One time many years ago, I was in line at the downtown post office, and there was a VERY tall young woman with blond hair and i men she was a stork with super long arms and legs. really tall. Amazing. well---after she left, the postal clerks and I chatted about this local celebrity, because we all knew her name; even littlebittyme & I don't follow sports at all. But yeah--her name was Stephanie Busby, household name & college wimmins bassabaw player. I wonder what she's doing now? Hope that helps you kids. Thankk mee.

okay----tell you what----hearing that fmr President Trump claimed that Haitians in the other Springfields were eating cats caused me to be concerned----about Trumps' credibility. where did he get that idea? or, is it just hyperbole, a whimsical metaphor, a commentary on the culture of Haitians new to the USA? I usta know a native Floridian who is a "good ol' boy", and he occasionally would make haitian-oriented jokes, just trying to be funny. but yeah----true or not, Trump made a stupid comment, that opened him up for criticism. you bet. We all know that Haitians who come here can walk into any SuperCenter and shoplift a yummy Rotisserie Chicken, and not bother trying to cook a cat. Soo, anyway---too bad we can't have( someone like the late )George Romney running for President. He'd be perfect for the job, in my littlebitty opinion. Yup. His personal vehicle, a nice 63 Rammmler classic two-door sedan is in a car collection, now. Yup.

okay-----welp, the fanaticrats are at it again, trying to take Trump out, so as to make this a better world, i guess. But yeah----aren't they a buncha wackos? I have several Fanaticrat F-book friends, and I've leasrned to just ignore their juvenile ranting, because I'd just make them upset, angry, butthurt, and then block me. They only tolerate people who agree with their dimwitted world view. See? But yeah---this time the SS(secret service) intercepted the would-be shooter and of course The Media is identifying the kind of weapon but so far, not the identity of the perp. But yeah---now we'll have a multi-million dollar trial and more "news" about this case & kamala no doubt will get her 2 cents in, saying this is exactly why "assault rifles" need to be banned. Yup. you bet. just watch. thankk mee.

okay----i don't know if anya kids remember it or not----but Butch C's burned down in the Fall of 76. Fortunately, the building was unoccupied at the time, but iirc the paper(Ames Tribune) said a firefighter was injured. So, that's not good. But yeah--A-hole town lost one a it's best pubs. It was a discotheque with a loud PA system. It was so crowded, you could pass a "J" in there, no trouble. Not mee, of course; I'm waay too Holy for that kind of stuff. It was REALLY packed the night they had $5 cover & all the draws you could drink for that price. But yeah---it was sooo packed, you hadta struggle ta get up to the bar to get a refill. Or so I was told. I stayed at home and read my Bible, that night. Hope thatt helps you kids some.

okay-----I came up with yet another BRILLIANT idea for repurposing that unsightly eyesore that absolutely positively RUINS the otherwise picturesque little village of Herman, Zurra. See-----what they needta to is turn it into an abbatoir, and yup---process horses for export to Quebec & the ZMother Country, France. I know you kids like sitting in an airport and sitting on a plane watching moo-vvvees and then sitting in a classy(expensive) rist-o-rante, looking at a menu and deciding what culinary delight suits your appetite. oui, oui---ze filly filets are dee-licious, madame. So yeah---they can bring the old nags that the amish don't need, cause they're too old to pull a plow or whatever--or even the wagon to church-----process them, and export the "product"" to French-speaking areas of the world. Doesn't that sound like a grand idea? Hope that helps you kids some. Thankk mee.

okay-----random subject: conversing with people from that littlebitty town waaaay up north in the middle-o-nowhere. if i had nothing better to do, i'd write a satire. but yeah---when you converse with Those People, you're sure to be pimped. "pimping" in the Iwah way, is to make a comment tailor-made for you, to embarass, annoy, and achieve superiority by making some half-(or less than)true assertion in a VERY confident tone. Usually, with a toothpick hanging out of their mouth. Also---another tactic is a cautionary comment. Taking something disastrous they saw on tee-vee, and applying it to you, with a worst-case scenario. Again, usually with a toothpick hanging outta their mouth. They eat a lot of BIG cuts of meat up there, 'cause it's the Meat State. Swhy the need Mexxicans. Yup. Next time: mannerisms & comments typical of Those People, like Huh! or Ha! in a smart-alecky way. See? But there's more. Like saying "Yup" or "Awwwwsummm" and "Ah-May-Zeen". or every word that ends in -ing is pronounced as if it's "eeen". Example: "We're go-een to a wedd-een". See? there's other stuff, but thats it, for now. Thankk Mee.

okay----I decided ta use caps, again, for you kidses' benefit. Also, a limited amount of punctuation. But, the sentence structure & paragraph-ing stays the same. Not what you learned in 8th grade, in order to please your anal comp teacher. See? So anyway---I was reading about the Pres. Election of '68, and as part of my research related my findings to my known-fanaticrat test subjects. But yeah---they rejected it almost immediately, and were offended & dismissive and responded with comments such-as "so you want to return to slavery"? and crap like that. Two plus two plus two equals 222 to a libtard, evidently. Anyway, I my point was that among the 1968 candidates were Hugo Hubert Humphrey and of course Tricky Dick Nixon and of course George Wallace, all well-qualified candidates, compared to todays' lot. You may not like them, based on your perceptions of what they were like, since noneya kids were even born then, but they were good men who did what they believed was best. Also, there was Pat Paulsen, whom I supported at the time, since he would've been the first Norwegian-American President of the USA; a milestone, there. Yup. At the Republican Convention to choose candy-dates(yes, Virginia---they still had real conventions, then), there was George Romney, and he also was VERY respected and well-qualified. I reckon he hadta run as a Repub & not a 'Crat, since he was a former auto executive and not a Union Gangster. Dems always support the organized gangsters, don't they? Or else? But see---Romney had been born in Mexico, was like I said an auto executive and then Governor of Michigan. He had been the head of Hudson and Nash after they merged to form American Motors. I miust add that he believed Americans drove and drove and drove too-large gas guzzlers, which was spot-on. You bet. So, he woulda been an excellent President, but maybe not popular. Plus, he was a Mormon with no College Degree, which was a disqualification, even now. Just worked his way up the ladder. You don't see that any more. Nope. Later on, his boy, Mitt, ran for POTUS, but his likeability factor was low with me due to his tenure with Bain Capital. Not good, at that particular time, when many Americans were in distress. Hope that helps you some. Thankk mee.

okay----where was I? So anyway----I been needing a storage for my bikes, since my bike shed is full & to work in there at night or whenever, I hafta pull bikes out and leave them outside, and tarp them, which really isn't good. So yeah----last year I bought a really nice old GMC Sonoma bed(the same one the doors came offa), and set it on a two-wheeler in the backyard next to my shed. Well---I wenta the wreckin' yard last weekend, and there was a 94 Ford explorer with a bed topper on it. It isn't a direct match--slightly, slightly wider, but it will work for my purposes as a cover for the Sonoma Bed, to use for storage. It has tinted, openable windowsa on all sides, for access. I just needta get a long wooden pallet from the farm supply dumpster to go in there. This way, I can store bikes in out of the weather, not under tarps, and put ny bike stand in the shed, now that there's room. See? But yeah----elderly littlebittymee drug that pickup bed canopy from the furthest reaches of the wreckin' yard, to the front gate. Guess I'm not what you'd call "Middle Class", am I? Ha.

okay---went backta the wreckin' yard, and took my 4-way lug wrench & pulled four wheels offa a van like mine, but a 78 year model. The same one I pulled the windshield out of. Too bad they junked that van, but the only thing I can do is salvage summa the useful parts, so I did. Also, while I was there, I spotted a 70's model Chevy 1-ton, and pulled the front stabilizer bar offa it. That piece is getting harder to find. But yeah---you can use a 1-ton front bar on a 3/4 or 1/2 or even a G-series Van---which I'll do. It's larger in diameter. Hope that helps you some. Thankk mee.

okay----tonite was sposta be the last official cruise nite of the season,m which I guess you can still cruise any nite you want, but the local gestapo is lifting the grace period. So, anyway---after I finished mowing and washing dishes, I drove the whole 2 miles to my spot at O'Reillys. but yeah---the cruisers were repaving the street up at the intersection with rubber, from both directions. Every now and then a city cop or a state butrol car would go by, but didn't seem to be focused detaining anyone. They can find their client base downtown, committing more serious offenses. I did not see any of the participants or spectators consuming alcoholic beverages, nor any empties. But here was MJ smoke in the air, along with the tire smoke. It was a diverse mix of vehicles, too; but not one 58 Packard. Ha. I forgot my phone, but tomorrow I might go up ta the intersection, and take a photo of the black marks all over the pavement, and also the sidewalk that's been torn up for two months; and the building thats been vacant, for as long as I've lived here. None of that would even be tolerated in that littlebitty village waaaay up north in the middle o' nowhere; they liketa keep things looking tidy, to pretend they are efficient and that it's a swell place to live. Ha. Yeah Sure, You Bet. Yup. I had to add this---wouldn't ya know it--there were a coupla Teslas out cruising; a sedan and the pickup. I only saw each of them once. But yeah---they both pulled hole shots and did not waste time getting across the intersection. Very torquey vehicles, up to about 40 mph. Yup. Al, get out your checkbook. Thankk mee.

okay---last weekend, I replaced the fuel pump in my 87 Suburban, and also held a meeting of the HBCC. Had to get out and DRIVE all the way to the MPO, a round-trip distance of 10 miles. Okay----good news: There is a new kid in town, located in the old 'chine shop up here that I heard was gonna be razed to make way for some classy(stupid) stuff. That may be---but a guy is selling doors and pieces of plywood--not 4x8 sheets but like 43 x 43. Yup. So yeah---I called & then went by & picked up 2 doors & 5 pieces of plywood. Anyway---got 'em all loaded in my car, and figuring how where I will unload them. That said, I know you kidz will respond by saying: LBB, WHY do you need all of that STUFF??? Followed by: you could've gone to a nice rest-o-rant specializing in Bulgarian Food(or whatever), and had a yummy & delish meal, instead. Just hire a reputable contractor, open up an account giving them a line of credit, and let them handle it, while you have FUN. Ha. So yeah--I told the guy II'd be back again, later. Yup. But anyway---it's for my backyard cottage project. See?

10-21-24, 2:37pm
okay---I needta go ta the wreckin' yard and take the inside door panel outta the 78 Chevy they have there. Also, the rear door panels. See---they were optional, and my 91 G20 doesn't have door panels. They basically serve two purposes: To keep the heat in and cold out or vice-versa AND as interior noise reduction. Yup. I'll let you know how this trip two 1/2 miles away turns out. Yup.

10-26-24, 12:14pm
okay----well, day before yesterday, I hadta make an emergeny run ta the wreckin' yard. See---the s 10 tailgate for my portable storage shed was missing the inner hinge bracket. The wreckin' yard has just ONE ol' early s 10 in stock. They've been outta perduction for 30 years, now! I've had mine for well over 20 years, and never driven it, anywhere. Anyway, I pulled all 4 of the tailgate hinge brackets, plus screws, and then grabbed the gauge cluster lense outta that van(for future use), plus there was a 79 C10 that had a recent set of taiwan hood hinges on it that I saw last time(a month ago), so I grabbed them, to place in my inventory. Yup. Also, a decent Rally Center cap missing the center emblem. Also, measured some car seats for possible use in my Packard project. Hafta wait until a really nice set o' caddy seats turn up. Hope that helps you kids some. Thankk mee.

okay-----over the weekend, I did some VERY important stuff. Yup. One thing was ta go over to a nearby place in a residential area, where a guy has a small auto salvage parts yard. He has his home and the backyard, and another small house he acquired, that backs up to his. Anyway, he's COMPLETELY fenced it off, so it is not visible to zer gestapo. Yup. Anyway, I pulled the cam folloers out've an oooooold Stude-O-baker, which I can use. But yeah---I plan to send them to a machine shop to have them reground. Yup.

okay---this just in. You kids prolly already know, and could(n't) care less. But yeah---Celebrity Teri Garr has passed. She managed to do just enough o' this n that, to get by. Her biggest gigs were appearing on Letterman, decades ago, when he was still trying to find a mate. As you kids know--it is VERY difficult for comedians in that respect. They are always "On", and wimmin are no-nonsense critters. Yup. Where was I? Oh yeah---after about Gars 50th appearance on Letterman, it became apparent that Letterman was very um, attracted to Garr, because he wasn't quite as smart-alecky as usual. See? Did you kids ever notice that? Hope that helps you some. Thank mee. (see photos)61056106

okay----over ta wal-mart, right where you walk in(or out), they got this bin of fleece-y things---flat material(3x5) fleece-y on one side, plain on the other. They are not throw rugs; too thin for that. But the catts managed to find a purpose for them, as layers during nap time. The next time I went ta wal-mart, I picked up yet another fleece-y thing, as a spare. But yeah---just thought I'd mention it. Hope that helps you some. And your catts. Thankk mee.

okay----I was able to acquire some damaged, salvage scrap material from a place that specializes in top-quality junk. Yup. Anyway---what it is is plywood that is 44" x 40" and approx 1" thick, and has some lind of thin vinyl(?) overlay on both sides. I figure it's salvage from shipping containers or something to do with material handling. I salvaged 6 pieces, and set them on the front steps, out here. OZn piece, I cut in approximate halves, today, for utility tables. Another four pieces will be used to build a heavy-duty dogg house. Yup. I had to journey to the nearby lowes for a more suitable circular-saw blade, after cutting the first one in half. See?

okay----just for fun a couple weeks ago(even though I was still a little sick), I happened to be going by the Cem-o-tery downtown where you have quite few few notable & notorious people and even some people I have known. But the grave I was looking for was of a guy who was executed in Zurras' Gas Chair awhile back. I had looked on the chart the cem-o-tery has online and also findagrave and cross-referenced them to find the location, cause you'd take forever finding the plot just wandering around. But yeah--the landmark clear in the back of the cemetery was the large granite tombstone of a former sheriff, and I had reckoned by the charts that the executed mans gravesite was directly south of it, across the lane about 75 feet away. So, yeah--I found it. Evidently, his parents had purchased the plots and a marker for themselves, about the time the guy was executed, because they both outlived him by two decades. Anyway, there it was. Now, there's another cem-o-tery, owned by the city, further south by the mall, that has the grave of another convict who was executed by hanging at the courthouse, here. So, yeah--I'll hafta go check that one out. I also have know other people whose grave is in that cemetery. Then, on the north side, there's another cemetery where people have known are interred. But, the graves I'm gonna check out are that of the State Patrolman who fell attempting to summit Grand Teton solo in one day, during the middle of the night, and also the family who was murdered & the schoolteacher husband was tried and acquitted back in the 90's. I'll let you know how it turns out. Yup.

okay---here's a photo of the Aldis' in LA on fire. (see photo). I've seen other video footage of the urban landscape with burntout buildings there; and heck--that's no brushfire! That's a case of grossly inadequate preparation to put out a large structure fire, and keep it from spreading! It was bound to happen! The gummint there has got their priorities all screwed up, and the prevailing consensus seems to be that preoccupation with social justice issues in public policy, at the expense of emergency preparedness, is at fault! okay----back in the Valley, 60 years ago, I was riding my cheap, self-powered single-speed coaster brake, self-powered Murray bicycle back in the hills, when i encountered a couple kids from down the street from us, and they were riding double on a Honda 55 trail. I'd seen them around on that thing several times. Well, the Honda belonged to a 14-year old, and his passenger was a 13-year old neighbor of his. The 13-year olds' Dad was the host of a local Kids' show on TV. Well, the last weekend in July, the boys were camping in the backyard, and I think they left to go downtown to the movie theater when the show let out, to socialize a bit. Well, on the way back home, I guess for some reason they were stopped or slowing down on the dark two-lane highway heading back home, and the Honda was hit from behind by another neighbor driving a Ford pickup. Both boys were killed, and the pickup driver/neighbor was arrested at the scene. (see photos). But yeah--I was discussing the incident with a former associate just the other day. He said the 13-year old had been his locker partner at school that year. My associate and I were bound for Camp Cowles that weekend for a week, so we missed out on summa the hysteria in the 'hood. I'd heard about the wreck from yet another associate, who was also bound for Camp Cowles that week. But, I don't recall discussing it much. That was the summer that the Animals' had hat hit song: "House of the Rising Sun." And also, the Beach Boys, sang: "Little Honda"("it's not big motorcycle, just a groovy little motor bike" Yup. The TV MC Dad also died almost 6 years later of a heart attack. By that time, he had been working as a car salesman. His widow and two daughters lived at home at the place down the street for their entire adult lives; I think the daughters still do. 62116212

okay----i been sitting around when I should be doing something constructive, like YARD WORK!!! But, it's cold outside. Ha. Anyway, summa the videos are of police encounters and taking a suspect into custody. Seems lotsa the videos have suspects who physically resist, and sometimes it takes several minutes for even burly cops to put restraints(handcuffs) on a suspect before they transport them. What I'd do, if I were brilliant like T. Edison, is invent some better means of restraining a suspect. Seems like the technology for handcuffs has lagged waaaay behind. Yup.

okay-----Today, I saw T. Bwown strolling across the yard, heading out back. He doesn't stop for foods & a pat, any more. Last time I saw him was right after the big snow, and he went bounding through it, headed out back. Not sure why he goes out there; maybe wild game. But T. Brown is not thin. Nope. So, I guess he's ok. Hope that helps you some. Edited to add: I was sittin on da porch late last night, waiting for my gray cat to make up her mind & go indoors, when I saw T Brown creep back around the yard, headed back to ???? He ignored meee(like you kids) and my catt. But yeah---he was prolly out back several hours, doing whatever it is he does. Anyway---I could care less; if he's got some support, somewhere, that is great. That way, I'm not feeding another catt. Hope that helps you kids. Thank mee.

Okay----just a little while ago, i was on the porch, and it's a little chilly and misting rain. But, again--here comes T Brown, in his turtle-like pace, headed out back. He barerely glanced at mee & my pett catt, as he passed by. So anyway---here's a couple photos of a busy intersection in Hilltowns' north side. It's along old rte 66, too. (see photos) But yeah, at one time there was one o' those roadside mo-tells, with rock-sided cabins. Prolly built in the 1930's. At some point, it was replaced by another mo-tel made of concrete and cinder block, which was here when I moved here. Seems like there were some shootings there, at various times. But now, it is gone; razed in order to make way for one o' them "Chik-fil-a" places. (no photo available) That's progress, I guess. Ha.62166217

TYVM, RR. Like I always say---that's progress! Ha. But yeah---here's another VERY interesting thing: I did purchase a nice, new bike back in 1986. Even drove ta K.C. to make my purchase. I did attempt to shop local, but it didn't work out. It was about $350, which is equal to about a $1000, now. It was an American brand that had been around for decades, but the bicyclist element has a lot of consumeristic types who jump on the latest trend, and want something avante. See? The local Terk dealer has models starting at about $500; at the time, they built bikes for pretty much a niche market. Also, I was a brand loyalist, because my grandpa had been a Schwinn dealer at one time. Yup. So, I got this 1-year only model, a Passage, and put some bar-end levers on it pretty hard. The rear derailleur, a Huret, failed, and the rear rim failed, and I crashed it into a foot-high curb and bent the fork and front wheel. To be continued

okat---it's one o' them overcast, damp & chilly Zurra Winter days. Above freezing, still unpleasant. Yesterday, it was sunny, 44 degrees and very nice until later in the afternoon, when a breeze came up. So, anyway---today, I figured I'd replace the T-8 bulbs in the garage in my hillbilly shack. At lowes, 4-two packs were around $50, plus tax. A case of 12, was 56, plus tax. Meaning, I'd have a set of spares, and I know I'll use 'em. So yeah---soon as I do that, I'm gonna round up my camshafts, put them in a file drawer, send my small-block Packard cam out to be reground, and then when it returns, I'll take 'em all to this guy in Rogersville, to be cryo-treated. But yeah--he freezes 'em, to improve wear properties. It might interest you to know that the small-block Packard cam was cast by the same foundry that makes my Chevy, etc., cams. CWC, is the company. They've been around a long time. Yup.

okay--Tickicks ta see Steinfield. Yup. They've rented a yuge arena here, so Jerry can do his schtick, and the good seats are ONLY $200 plus fees. Yup. Pretty exorbitant amount. But yeah---I might consider paying $35 to see a stage production of an episode of Steinfield featuring the entire original cast from the TV show featuring the Soup Facist, but heck no--not $200+ to see Jerry. Sorry, Jer. (see photo)6237

$200 to see a major comic is not much. I won’t tell you how much I paid for 2 front row seats to see Chris Rock and Dave
Chapelle. Bobby would have a mental breakdown.

I don’t remember how much we paid for front row sears to see Craig Ferguson but probably in that range. He puts on an elegant show. We got regular seats to see Leanne Morgan, probably less money.

Seinfeld isn’t one of the comics I would currently pay to see. I like Fortune Feimster, Tig
No toro, and am sort of developing a liking for Shane Gillis who is huge at the moment.

The old grumpy guys like
Maher and Burr still speak to me, I suppose because I am old and grumpy.

okay----I'm rounding up valves for my small-block Packard rebuild. In case you didn't know---55-56 Packards used BIG blocks, and 57-58 Packards used Small Blocks. The small block Packard engine is very, very similar to contemporary Cadillac engines. Only--better. Anyway a set of new valves is nearly $350. Well, I've checking EBay for the last month or two for broken sets or partial lots. I found a set of 8, and then 5 more; at substantially less cost. I just need three more to complete the set. But, I'm patient. At least I not out there DRIVING and DRIVING and DRIVING the wheels off a vehicle(and crashing it, like summa the hot rodders do). Nope. when it goes above freezing, I will break down a set off #555-casting core heads, and take them in for preliminary work--using equipment that I do not own, as it would be impractical. I hadda get out my official IWAH grain scoop that I've had for forty years. A farm boy left it at my shop and never came back to get it. Dad was prolly mad. I found a grain scoop in the bed of a truck at the wreckin' yard last year, took it up front, and the kids at the counter did not know what it was, and let me have it for $5. Pretty cheep. So, now I have two IWAH grain scoops. But anyway---I "cleaned" the snow away from my mailbox and also a spot where my car was getting stuck. So, no--didn't overdo it, like they do in IWAH to show how efficient they are. It will prolly all be gone this weekend, so why break my back? Ha. Hope that helps you kids some.

That is very interesting, RR. Perhaps maybe DH and his buddies will form up a Joe B tribute garage band, playing faux instruments such as air guitar & mikes not connected to amps. Yup. The other day I sat-n-watched a video of 70's band Uriah Heep in concert in Germany, just a year or two ago. There is only one founding member still in the group, but even at that, the old geezers did pretty good. They sounded waaaaay better than Joe B. The audience had 1000's, and was noot made up of the elderly, looking for nostalgia. But yeah---I'm glad you stayed home the other day & not wasted your time & money. Yup.. But anyway---i went ta the wreckin' yard for the first time in a long time---it's been awhile---and guess what? Spotted a very(xxx444)nice set o' West Lake LT 235-75 r15 tires. They are very dirty, but nearly new. Only probbrem is, they were mounted on the 1990's S-10 alloy wheels(an inappropriate-size tire for an S-10)so I hadda buy the tires/wheels. But that's okay---I can do something else with those weels. The tires are so new, they still give off that new rubber smell. Yup. But yeah---West Lakes are an import, made by the Shanghai Mfg. Co., like about every consumer good, these days. I've got another set of 16" Westlakes on my 3/4 ton(classic '77), for the last few years, and they work real good. They're "an affordable choice". Why buy a set o' BadYears or Failurestones, just to be patridiotic? I haven't decided which o' my classic junker pickups to use 'em on, as of yet. It won't be my s-10. But yeah---congratulate mee.

Except for the schizoid manic conspiracy buffs, the case is closed. Yup. I know you kids like novels, but let me recommend a non-fiction novel by Pricilla Johnson McMillan, callewd: "Marina and Lee". It's a little hard to find, but not impossible; it may be out of print. But yeah---I read it cover-to-cover twice; even have my own copy. Yup. But yeah--it's good. Also, Death of a President, by William Manchester; and also: Case Closed, by Gerald Posner. Then, there's one by Lee Oswalds Brother, Robert, and I don't recall the title. Then, there are dozens and dozens of books that are rubbish. I won't dignify them by naming them, here. okay----i saw an ad on F-book mktplc that i guess had been on there for several weeks, and the seller had lowered the price, quite a bit. The sellers responses were kinda of strange, so I wondered what was going on. But yeah---I went over there, across town in my cheap sub-compact economy car and purchased for $140 a gas water heater, that looks pretty good/low usage. It's a 40 gallon, and while it's fine for me, a household of people in a large home might find it inadequate. The seller is a plumbing tech who changed it out, and took it home to re-sell. But no--I do not presently need a heater; but the one I have in here now I bought over 12 years ago, and it was a used one I paid $100 for. So, yeah--I'm gonna wrap this one I just purchased up real good, and store it until It is needed. This should reduce down time, should the one in service go bad. Heaters over at the Big-Box have gotten pricey---even dented ones. Hope that helps you kids some.

4-26-25, 4:39am
okay---I needed tires for the front of my 18-year old cheap old economy car that i bought at the wreckin" yard nearly a decade ago. The right side tread was worn down to the indicator bars, and the left side was getting there and the wreckin' yard didn't have the zact size out back in the huge pile o' tires you can sort through, but i found a pair in the back room that were the right size except the aspect ration was one bigger, so i figured that"ll work Their prolly at 3/4 tread and the way that type o' car wears front tires, it's maybe two or three years worth o' driving, for mee. So, I negotiated a lower price and took 'em home and pulled the front weelz off in my driveway & went to the tire shop to have them mounted & balanced. I used my classic 1977 GMC to haul the weelz and tires downta the tire shop. After I got homes, I scrubbed them up to clean the sidewalls and brake residue off the weelz, so it looks much better. I used never-seize on the lug studs, as a precaution, and tightened them tight. So, now I can get 'er through inspection after I wash n' vacuum it out. Good thing licensing only comes every other year, as it's an expense and a time-consuming chore. Yup. Another good reason for you kids not ta move ta Zurra.

what kind of trees came down in the storm? If you say ‘Alianthis’ I will say you deserve it. I observed quite a few of them in hillbilly land down yonder.

But probably they were better quality trees, so that is too bad. Ya know, trees are the enemy all too often and they love destroying human-made things. Sometimes they even kill humans. We had a deafh-by-tree last year in St. Louis not far from my old neighborhood.

So, i don't know how many are without 'lectricity at this point. But yeah--day after the storm, i went downtown to the court house where they had lectric, and filed for the homestead tax increase exemption, so it doesn't increase. When i left the courthouse, it was raining like crazy, again. oh, and yeah---i ordered a part for my old 58 Packard--it is "new", never-used, but 60-something years old. The catts don't seemta mind, as they have the ability to see in lower levels of light, and I ain't skeered o' the dark since my house ain't stigmatized. I was looking online about an incident where an airport ramp crew menmber was sucked into a running jet engine. It turns out there have been a number of cases like that in the last couple of years, despite training and warnings from supervisors to personnel ta stay the heck away from running jet engines. But anyway, for the real deal on the end result of such careless behavior, an online magazine called "Shocker" published graphic photos of the accident scene. The vitims was literally pureed, as a result of going through an jet engine. And, the engine had to be replaced, due to damage. Yup. Hope that helped you some.

okay----spent the afternoon doing YARD WORK!! not because i am so virtuous and conform to the social norms of the nice people that devote their whole life to keeping things tidy, but to get rid of the tree branches littering the yard everywhere, due to the storm. so, i also helped church guys' boy, who had large branches in a tree that had crunched the fence between us. I hooked a chain & cable to my one-ton GMC with the versa-lift and pulled the large branches out of the tree, onto the ground. well, i went upta the market for supplies, and the 'chine shop guy was there, and he informed me that the Packard crank i dropped off for grinding several months ago was almost done and let me know the bearingt size. So, thats good news. So, i went on ebay and got a set of new, but old bearings to fit it. Yup.

littlebittybobby
5-13-25, 7:08pm
okay---those main bearings--Michigan Brand with the date stamp for "66" on them arrived from Winnypig, Manitobia. Yup. I needta go pick up the reground crank, soon. Awhile back I bought an old book online(EBAY), that is the official S-P 55-58 Body Parts Catalogue, including 57-58 Packard. So, what you do is go in there, and with the help of illustrations get a number, then check that number in the catalogue to get the part number. Then, go online to Studebaker International Co. in Indyanna, and check their catalogue, to see if they list it in inventory and the price. Then, I called them gave the lady must customer number, ph. number, and she checked their files. I said I'd liketa send a photo of that part, so we don't ship something wrong at great expense, so I did that. Well, I called back today to confirm that they received my email and that the valance is actually in stock. She said well---they're wqorking on rounding it up, or something to that effect. So, hopefully it will be here in a few days; a 67-year-old part that is left over from Packard production. Hopefully, because the one on mine is crunched.

okay---I wenta the wreckin' yard and pulled the front and rear bumpers off a van. The rear bumper on my van(see above photo) was severely bent and besides--they are painted. These bumpers i got are chromed; they're off a 1996 conversion van. The front one has the hard-plastic "guards", and I also have another set of guards I'll put on the rear. May as well. Plus--I picked up a real solid van tailpipe, that I can use on my one-ton. And, last but not least, a nice clean ECM box which runs the fuel injection & distributor. It's nice to have a spare; i put it inside a 1-gallon freezer bag. Those ecms for chevies are suppoed to be for specific applications, but they'll still work on various vehicles that don't have lots of gadgets on them. Plus, a door lock button and a fiberglass spare tire cover. it has several breaks on the outside edge, but being FG, it's very fixable. They've jacked the prices waaay up at the wreckin' yard, so the bill was about what you kids'd spend on a drive-n-eat or some concert tickicks. ouch. But, i gotta have the parts. Yup.

okay----another story about a stigmatized building. see--they had a story about this the other day, tho i was kinda aware of it before, just not all the details. well, there used to be a grocery chain here called "consumers", locally-based. I guess they still own summa the buildings they were in, to lease to other companies. But yeah---they closed up about 30 years ago. there was one built in the early 50's over on the west side, along one of the streets route "66" used to pass through the city. When Consumers closed that store, they leased it to Bud or Jim or someone as a IGA or Super Valu grocery, and I usta go in there when i was in that part of town, 20+ years ago. One time, i used the rest room in there, which was located up front in the store. I noticed how antique-y the restroom was, and guessed the store was as old as I am. They only had one for the public to use. That was years ago, and later on, the building was leased to some kind of "it takes a village" kind of organization for kids, and completely remodeled. That was probly 10-15 years ago. Well, the story about the store that makes it stigmatized is that in the summer or 1955, the store had a display of fireworks for sale, up front and INSIDE the store, which somehow got ignited and went off, creating a blaze but mostly LOTS of toxic smoke. Well, mosta the people, employees and customers, exited the store through an exit near the rear of the store, but two young girls and a middle-aged woman took refuge in the bathroom up front. The fire department got everything under control, put the blaze out, but the three in the bathroom were asphyxiated by the fumes. Pretty sad. The store was restored and reopened, but city council passed some stringent ordinance regarding the sale and use of fireworks inside the city. But yeah; true story. Yup. How do you like that?

Among the cores was a 327 block, date coded 1962, and the original heads that are fit for further use. but, theres also a pair of 291 1968 327heads, bare and rusty. The plan is to rebuild them, as they are an upgrade. to derust them, im fist using power tools(drill and dewalt rotary) with wire wheels to start, then a soak in Evaporust. Id say they prolly are 20-30 years old, never used. I plan to use them, then save the box, that has all the Crane logos and graphics on it. Will cover it with clear packing tape to better preserve it. Then, store spare parts in it on a shelf. See----Crane finally quit business prolly 10-15 years ago, after many years as a leading brand of valve train parts. I also tryta save my S-P and TRW boxes, too. Yup.

okay---i got word from his boy that Church Guy is in rapidly declining health. but yeah---i told you kids that he moved ta So. Indianna some time ago, after the demands of mowing got the better of him. He let his boy take over at the ranch, and do the mowing. Also, a guy took over the place across from church guy, and he's a busybody with a loader, clearing the back of the lot that has been wooded for at least 40 years. we don't take kindly ta people clearing trees in the name o' progress. nope.
