I'm glad it was successful. I didn't know you could do vaccines at home. Did you get them from a vet?OIh, yes--you can do most vaccines at home. There are exceptions, such as prescription drugs and then for a rabies tag to be issued, it must be done by a licensed vet. But, you can still do rabies yourself, if you can find them for sale.. See--in Zurra, there are farm supply stores and pet supply stores that sell your 3- and 5-way vaccines for catts and doggs, and of copurse antibiotics. That's where I got these, for $8 each. They are injected just under the skin(subcutaneous), where Rabies and some others are into the muscle tissue.

There are also online pet supply houses that cater to the kennels, for deeper discounts on vials with multiple doses. I have bought them from the vet, at times. And boxes of hypodermic needles, etc. But, I just go over to the farm/pet supply houses near me. Now I did take a catt---a beloved brown tabby girl in, to have a cortisone shot at a vet, for flea allergy, last week. Which is strange, because she has close to 0 fleas on her. But yeah---she is feeling much better, and the symptoms have about gone away. But, that cost $60. That kind oif money would've bought a yumnmy steak dinner at one of the better rest-o-rants in town OR a tickkick to sit-n-watch Lyle Lovett and his buddy whats-his name try and make music. Ha. Not worth it. My cat is a much better investment. Yup. Instead, I had a plate o' fried onion rings heated up in the rehabbed microwave, with ranch dressing. One whole bag is $3.29 and is good for three servings. Yup. Catts like 'em, too.

Okay----it got down in the 30's at night, and my policy is not too do any heating until after Nov. 1. Heat costs money, and I already spend waaaay too much money on catt & doggg food, as it is. But yeah----last evening, the cattts formed up a coalition to bunk together, to share body heat, so they wouldn't freeze their tails off. 4889

I feel like I didn’t entirely get my moneys worth for my C$tt because he will not cuddle with me. I am toying the idea of keeping this house freezing so that he will figure out I am a source of warmth and he will come and sit by me and on me.

Also, you might try eating canned tuna fish in bed. That will generate catt interest, too.

Stinky mackeral might be even better. I once caught an elusive semi-feral with mackeral when tuna wasn’t working.

Okay---yeah, whatever. My catts live here, I live here. I don't care if they ignore me, and they don't care if I ignore them. Way it is. But yeah---our paths cross, and yeah, there is some interaction. I only do enough to meet their needs. All there is to it. Hope that helps you some. Thankk Mee.

Okay---my pet peeve---one of many--is people who are obviously "Tee-Vee educated". That is a term I coined many years ago, that refers to people who derive most of their knowledge from from Tee-Vee and other MSM, with little actual first-hand experience. Especially, the ones who" jump on the bandwagon" which is an idiom I did not invent, but works well to describe the self-righteous, manic attitudes some of those people develop, especially about alleged social/environmental/political problems that need solved NOW, based on media accounts they've sat-n-watched. But no-- They don't HAVE the solutions, they only know the PROBLEM, and believe it's their duty to share their Tee-vee-acquired knowledge on the subject. And of course--bash anyone who dares to question their beliefs. See? Those People make the very best ideologues, too. Anyway, that's all for now. Hope that helps you some, or I'll start addressing you in dudespeak, which is the dialect most TV-Ed people use. Thankk Mee.

Okay---Poky, center of the I-wah Universe, and boyhood home of I-wahs & Alaskas most notorious serial killer. Not counting guys who fish-n-hunt, of course. But yeah--here's a promotional photo and also one of the present store front where Hansens' Bakery was located in Poky, years ago. The chunky guy in the photo is the son of a wummun I "dated" for a very short time. We went to a mooo-vvveee down the street at the Rialto, called: "The Dukes Of Flatbush". Not that I wanted to see it, it was what was playing at the time, okay? Hope that helps you some. 489248934893

Okay----Quick Quuiz: What is the purpose of New Hampshire? A: Well, tourism, or to be more specific, geezercycle touring, where geezers can try and cheat death on their flashy, loud geezer "bikes". Tourism(from noo joisy, noo yawk, and the greater Bawh-stun area) of this sort is SO important to NH, that if a drunken motorcyclist who is not watching where he is going crosses the centerline on a curving hilly road into the path of a pickup driving by a young kid, an immigrant from you kidses' favorite county(ukrainia), then the State of NH and the regional Nooz Media will place the blame squarely on the kid, for killing 7 murdercyclists in cold blood. Yup. He will be sitting in jail, without bail, for 3 years, and then sitting in an immigration jail, awaiting deportation proceedings after he is cleared of all charges in the crash. Let injustice be served, right? Hope that helps you kids some.4894

rosarugosa
10-23-22, 5:24pm
Well the purpose of NH has traditionally been to sell cheap cigarettes, alcohol, fireworks and tattoos to us Massholes, but now tattoos are legal here, I don't smoke anymore, and the liquor isn't really cheaper than some of our local stores, so I have a lot less use for NH than I used to. I guess some folks also go there for the sales tax-free shopping. I live in a red-leaning town in a very blue state, and it seems that many of our local townies dream of moving to NH, to whom I say "don't let the door hit you . . ."

Purpose of New Hampshire is to tease us with the best place in the United States to be if only it were 20° F warmer.

Okay---I was just sitting here, crunching the numbers, and came up with a rough estimate, which says that IF Nebraska was as densely populated as New Hamshire, then Nebr. would have 11.4 million residents! Human residents. At present, Nebr. has under 2 million. So yeah--as wild and wooly and rural as NH likes to present itself, to draw those tourists----the place has a lotta people. Yup.

Okay---it's raining, raining raining. I know we need rain, especially to curb the fires that keep happening, here and there. But see---we have a storm thats stalled over zurra, and it keeps pouring. But yeah---we've had ENOUGH, see? This is putting a stop to progress on summa my projects. See?

littlebittybobby
10-24-22, 10:27pm

Okay---I made a run to the nearby big-boxes, and at one I picked up a nice poly cat litter box that is made for mixing up concrete. Also, some 1 x 3 furring strips to use on my backyard cottage rehab project. Okay then---to the second big box where I got lucky. Ha. Not THAT kind of lucky; the GOOD kind, where they had an adequate supply of catt & dogg food on the shelf! Plus, a coupla cans o' beans for myself. So, yeah---went through a ho' lotta moolah, tonight. yup.

I cannot even consistently get what I want from Chewy, and if I can, I often need to buy a whole case of a single flavor that my boys will then decide that they hate.

Haha. I understand that very well. We finally found a brand that all 4 cats will consistently eat. Keep trying to introduce other brands/flavors one at a time and they are all duds. So we have a subscription to Chewy for delivery. THey sent it to us even though their website said out of stock.

Okay---I did what has posed a prol;lem for me for years, on one side of my backyarsd cottage. See---the guy who built that part many years ago was in a gbig hurry and took many short cuts, so did not close in the eves, beteewbn the roof rafters. As a consequence, you had squirrles and other critters---including blacksnakes---crawing around up there, after I installed a ceiling and some insulation up there, some 20 or 30 years ago. Plus, in addition to nesting, thery were chewing on the warrrin'. Well, I fixed the chewed-on warrin; and finally this week, I closed in the eaves, to prevent access by critters. Also, painted the eaves and caulked and used expanding foam to close up openings. Due to the irregular shapes of the openings that had to be closed up, it was time-consuming and the end result is more about form-over-function Buit, yeah. problem solved.

Okay---here's a photo that was part of several submitted to the old Huttsons: Did they really make cars like that? News feed. What this is, is a badge-engineered Hash Metropolitan. Hash means Hudson + Nash, which is what happened after the 1954 model year. Yup. 4899

such cuteness!

I ran across someone in my genealogical tree whose name was Pamela Ford Packard. There must have been some auto industry money with that woman.Well, I don't know but I've been told that the Packards not only founded the Packard motor car company, but also Packard Electric, which was(and is) a major supplier of auto electric components. Especially noted for spark plug wires. But guess what? The company was renamed "Delphi", as a division of GM. Prolly GM CEO Mary "yogi" Barra thought packard sounded too old-ish, , or something. But now, I see Bog-Warner claims ownership of Delphi.
Yup. Just got me a new, spare Delphi fuel pump for my Hyundai, the other day, for $20. I know, I know---you kids take your nice car to the dealer, and since you "drive 'em till the weelz fall off", it's no longer under warranty. It costs $567.89, plus parts & labor to fix it, because the "factory trained technitions" have to take the back seat out or the gas tank off, to get at it. Hard work, boys. Yup. But yeah---Last one I had go bad, I just did er' out in the front yard, under the shade trees. Yup. Here's a photo o' a old classic Merc-O-ree. Mag weelz & all--that ain't original. Nope. What is something like that worth, anyhow? My gramma had one just like it. Yup. Not really--that is just typical Iwah banal-anal dialogue. Yup.4902

Okay---brief history lesson. Here's a photo of pre-merger Hudson & Nash'es. Then, post-merger Hashes. You could get 'em post-merger with various engines, such as the olsd Hornet 308, the Packard-built 320, and the AMC V8, among others. . Yup. But yeah---they were badge re-engineered by none other than Mitt Romneys' Dad, George. He came up from old Mehico, to Dee-troit, to "save" Nash and then Huttson. He was against them other us-made gas guzzlers. Yup. See quote from net.Hope thatt helps you some. Thankk Mee.490349044905490649064907

Okay-----my little bitty formerly feral kitten is now my little puppy dogg. She is very cuddly and snuggly and HUNGRY with an appetite that makes me wonder how she even survived outside on her own for over a month, until I caught up with her. Okay----tore the roofing offa another section of my backyard cottage. There was a design defect that caused the roof to deteriorate and leak, causing mold to form on the ceiling, inside. But yeah---I was very concerned about how to alleviate the problem, until I removed the roofing. Then, it was evident. So yeah---I will be fixing that, this week. It looks like I can clean the mildew off the ceiling(wearing a particle mask), and paint it with kilz, then some paint after that. Yup. I'm also installing government-surplus light fixtures, throughout the place. So, that will be a nice touch. Yup.

11-5-22, 11:47am
Okay----On the subject of waaaay up north in various littlebitty towns in the middle o' nowhere(including the boyhood home o' iwahs' & Aks most notorious serial killer) there is a syndrome thwere that is mistaken for "Progress". Yup. See---most of these towns have been in a form of decline--population of intelligent life-- for at least 50 years. But, due to "progress" in the agerculture 'conomy, namely upsizing operations and perduction methods aka factory farms, and the expansioon of markets to worldwide, there's still a lot o' money being made, in that environment. An the affleunt there are major car jocks--Farmers! Nobody likes to DRIVE as much as Farmers! Yup. Steada going inta town on Satterdy mornin', they get out and DRIVE to urban areas to purchase consumer goods. That's what those HUUUGe "mini" vans are for; thats what those 4-door monster pickups are for! Just DRIVE n eat n shop! Or to the stadium at the state U to sit-n-wath! Yup. Or upta Minnasodda to catch FISH! Yup. One little town has a company that makes boat trailers, another place has a factory making fishing lures. Yup. See?. There's also a new service industry in the many old, small-town abandoned storefronts, owned as mom-n-pop restaurants that serve large cuts of REAL FOOD--MEAT!. Then, they do stupid stuff like cut holes in the sidewalk, and plant high-maintenance shrubs n stuff. A monkey-see, monkey-do, like at the Nicollet Mall grandiose experiment, up in Libberapolis, Mn. See? But yeah---in the name o' I-wah style Proigrees, what they do is take old masonry commercial buildings and either knock 'er down, and clean 'er up n keep 'er mowed nice-n-neat or else cap 'er with farmer tin & tuirn 'er intto a destination to drive-n-eat. Yup. One such city waaaay up there has a 1930's brick building that has been in continuous use all this time. But, what they did to conform to the local notion of progress, which has also gotten artsy-fartsy and gentrified, is first cap 'er withg farmer tin, and then put old weathered barn boards on the street side, to make 'er look artsy-fartsy. They have an old theater, built in 1920's, that started to close, because the small theater chain couldn't justify keeping 'er open. So, the local artsy-fartsy types w/too much farmer money formed up a non-profit charity-status place, in order to keep the place open to show Dizzey mooo-veees and other crap with $4 admission. By the way--don't worry--that buyilding was also capped wiuth farmer tin, a long time ago. Yup. Amay-zeen & Ahhhh-summ, as they say way up there. Yup. I'll post some photos for your information of this dumb syndrome. By the way, the downtown retail anchor is now Dollar Gereneral. Yup. A-may-zeen and Ahhh-summm. Yup. Big thing going on today, is that the old-car jocks are going on a cruise from town to town, visiting the "man caves" of various other old-car jocks. See? No doubt they drive-n-eat. Better get those pipelines opened up! Save American Freedom to Drive-N-Eat! Yup.

492449254926Progress, USA. Amayzeen & Ahhhsumm. Yup Save the trees and save our theater and looka the DolGen Retail Anchor! Usta be an Anthonys. Yup. Look how they capped that one building with Farmer Tin, then stuck artsy-fartsy weathered barn siding on it. Those people also gripe about old, junk 57 Chevies sitting around, and then parade up and down main in a $50,000 restored "classic" they bought, ready to cruise. I-wah idiocracy evolution. Yup. Drive-N-eat. Don't complain abourt farmers on a full stiomach, by god. Get out and Drive! Support Our Troops! They died for your Freedom, in that Gulf War. . Yup.

If you ever see me upping my religiosity, it will mean I have dementia.Amen. Yup. Okay---here's a photo I ran across awhile back. Anyway, it's in Downtowqn Dallas, a stones-throw from Dealy Plaza in rednecked Dallas,, where there were top demmacrats holding a parade in open-top limmmozinnnes, back in Nov. 63. . Can youu believe that? Kind of explains why you can invade a
-top demmacrats office or home, quite easily. See? They have no common sense. Anyway, the building on the left side iof photo 1 is(or was) the home of "Doug's Gym", that used real oild-fashioned freewheights, so people that needed muscle memory could keep in tune. Including Jackk Ruby. Across the street is the po-lice station, and you can see the short ramp to the basement, where Ruby entered and proceeded to shoot Oswald. Yup. Juuuyst thought you'd enjoy this. Also, I have an authentic "Doug's Gytm" t-shirt, that I purchased on Ebay, no quuestions asked. The next photo shows a J6 Demonstrator posing with Mrs Pelosis' Podium. Ha. Howe do you like that? Isn't that a-may-zeen and ahhhsuummm? Yup. 49354936

Okay---Yesterday, late in the afternoon, I dug out a wooden fence post that had broken off just above the ground. It had been set in concrete, so that needed to be removed, too. Also had to detach the post from the fence panels. So yeah--it took me almost until sundown to do that and also dig the hole a little deeper. I rounded up a post and at the nearby big-box two ruptured bags of concrete mix. Today, I took the day off, to work on my new religion and spend some time with my catts and doggs. Never fear--I am not a jesus freak. Nope. But yeah--tomorrow after I go to the lirrrarry, which originally was built as a building materials supply store for a chain founded waaaay up north in that littlebitty town that was the boyhood home of the so-called "Butcher-Baker", as seen on Tee Vee. See---the lumber chain went belly up years ago(20), and the lirrrarry acquired the place and made IT the main lirrrarry, here. Steada the old Carnegie Building, downtown. But you know what? They did do some work on the downtown lirrrarry to make it better. Yup. But yeah---it's a long round trip in my 77 GMC that just had the motor rehauled with JC Whitney parts back in 1980. Hope that helps you some.

Okay----when I want to sit-n-watch, I like to see srtuff from india. See old-world indian artisans doing "stuff" there, that would be deemed impractiocal, and unsafe, here, and call for thge total replacement of a piece of equipment or whatever. See? Those induia people are a resouceful, make-do with whatcha got people yup. They are whatcha call: Hin-doos. Hindus Can Do. BTW, you should see the walls and stuff they built to literally partition the country off from Pakistan & the annoying muslims there. Problem solved, at least for the time being. Yup. Okay---here's something super, super interesting and very important, only it's not about Dem VS Pub. So I know you kids "could care less" as they say wayyy up north....But yeah---Drag Racing is a sport that has devolved and degerated down to almost, but not quite a whole bunch o' nothing. The fans are there for noise-n-smoke, the participants are there to generate points-n-stats, and they have to be car jocks of the highest order, due to the distances between events put on by santioning bodies. See---santioning bodies are like Xtians, with their multiple denominations. YTup.There's NHRA, IHRA, ADRA,and AHRA. AHRA has some of its roots in Spokane, where I once lived, but is dowqn to less than half a dozen venues, I guess. Looka this. I shiould add that in the 60's early 70's, a drag-racer named Bill jenkins built his own "Motors"(engines), pulled his race cars on an open trailer behind his 68 Ponnyac and drove his own car at the strip, and at one point tied with lew alcindor or whoever as the top-earning pro athlete in the country. Yup. But now---these guys have huge enclosed trailers with a workshop and bunks and kitchen and generators, to pull behing a monster dually truck. Ha. Yup. But check this out; isn't it amayzeen?4939

Okay-----a house I know of is undergoing a buy n flip. They got a compny called "whippersnapper construction" doing a major overhaul, right down to the fake brick tarpaper that was used for siding, back in 1914. But yeah---they've gone lickityt-split on the project, aiming towards a "Contemporary Suburban Split level" type of restyle. We'll see. Here's an old before photo from google maps. The previous resident spent the last two years clearing the trees at the back of the lot, then vanished. But yeah---here it is.4941

Okay---this just in---details are sketchy at this point---but a guy out in Philodelphia is supposed to have set some kind of a record by eating 40 whole rotisserie chickens in as many days. Not zackly what I'd call an acccomplishment. But yeah---you kids don't need to try to duplicate his feat at home. Nope. Besides--chickens are nice little creatures that eat bugs n corn & turn it into yummy eggs. Plus, summa them crow at the cracka dawn. Yup. See photo of this guy out east:4942

Okay---Sure a lotta Wimmin gettin' thrown in jail, these days. For the usual things wimmin do, like stealing or forgery or DWI & controlled substances. But yeah--they're getting on Mugshots aplenty, for domestic assault. I follow a local F-book "feed" called Mugshots(?)or whatever. There's various categories of Dom Ass, but it's all assault being reported., and wimmin being jailed. I wonder if it has anything to do with TV making it THE thing to do, or what? I don't keep nearly as much tract of popular culture as you kids, so I know I'm out of the loop. But, I thought the feminists were behind the DOM ASST laws, to begin with, which seems ironic. But yeah---my female cats are more likely to show aggressive behavior, than my boys. Yup.

Okay---took the Accent & made two trips to the former lumber yard turned lirrrarry(in 1999), and picked up my newly-acquired light fixtures. Anyway, they are VERY elegant, and use 330-watt metal halide bulbs and of course a starter. The starters are heavy, so I took them and the metal frames on the first trip, then came back the next day for the diffusers and brass bezels and misc hardware, the next day. They did not give me a complete set of metal halide bulbs, and I believe the reason why is that the lirrrary is still using that type fixture in the reference area; I went inside to take a look & a-ha! See---those bulbs're upwards of $35 each, so I figure they saved a few for future use, until their budget allows them to replace the remaining MH fixtures. But yeah---if I use oh, 1/2 dozen of those, I'm still ahead, considering the price I paid; about $3 each. Yup. But yeah--genuine 20th-century lirrrrary light fixtures. Yup.49464947

Okay---just thought I'd remind you kids that the defunct lumber chain that had built the facility that has been the main lirrrarrrarry here for over 20 years, was originally founded in that little bitty town waaaay up north in the middle o' niowhere that was also the boyhood home of i-wah & alaskas' most notorious serial killer---the butcher baker! See? Hope that helps you some.

I was looking online, and the price of GE replacement ballasts for EACH of those light fixtures alone is between $300-$400. Yup. Most of them are fairly old---20 years or more. But several have been replaced with newer ones, and the maintenance tech wrote the date on the case. Yup. Wjhen I first got them home, a quick glance said the ballast used 277v line voltage, which was bad news, since 277v is found in industrial applications and warehouses. But, a closer look at the ballast ALSO revealed it can use 120 v, single phase. I.E. house current. So, that's good. Yup

Okay---my outdoor cats "think" they should go outside. But guess what? They would go outside, sniff around for a minute, then want back in. If they weren't let back in, they'd wander off to a hiding spot, and fall asleep. Then, after I get out and look for them in the cold weather we're having, they act like "victims" of my cruelty & neglect. They'd demand reparations, as well. So, no---they're staying in. Yup.

I just threw a pan o' lightly-used catt litter in the stove, to knock the chill off inside. Yup. I checked f-book, and one party is on a trip to japan. They just posted a photo of---wowee--looka that---a Starbucks! Another is on a cruise over in Europe, commencing on the Adriatic. . But, they are mainly doing touristy consumer things, and the highlights are buying trinkets and eating restaurant meals. Sit-n-wait-n-fly-n-eat. Yup. Okay---This is VERY important. It's 28 degrees out, and the idiot neighbor is having his lawn mowed, this Sunday morning. But yeah--Did I tell you--he's an idiot.,

We noticed this summer that a lot of our neighbors with lawn care services continued to get their lawns mowed weekly, even in the midst of a massive drought. So these were lawns that were brown and not putting out any new growth whatsoever, but it must have been in the contract, so mow they did.

I mulch all of my leaves with the mower, so it might look like I'm mowing, but am doing leaf clean up detail. I also do a couple of runs with the catcher on and then rototill the ground up leaves into the garden. There is a symphony of leaf blowers just about any day around here, which is sort of obnoxious. It's a waste to send them to the landfill.

If his drain plugs up--here comes the plumbers' truck. If his house needs painting---hire that done, too. See--he has NO guy skills. And so on. Okay---Some bad news. They had that mid-air collision at the air show in Dallas, City of Dreadful Things, yesterday. What happened was, a WW2 vintage fighter plane collided with a WW-2 B-17 bomber made by Boeing. Thousands of them were made, and used primarily to devastate Germany and kill hundreds of thousands of people, back then. The one in the crash had not been used for that purpose, however. There are only 8 or 9 B-17's in flyable condition; the rest crashed or were scrapped. What a waste. Anyway, I believe that particular airplane visited here and was on display about 10 years ago. I went to the airport, and paid 5 whole dollars to climb up inside the plane. It woulda been skeeery enough to fly in one a them things, and they were not even made for comfort like(pressurized cabin) as present-day your commercial jets. But yeah---the thing had 4 radial engines--huge--several made by Curtiss-wright, and one or two by Studebaker! All identical, but different manufacturers. You could see the nameplates on the engines, btw. Anyway, the organization that owned the historic, airworthy aircraft is called: " The Commemorative Air Force", but guess what? A few years back, they called themselves "The Confederate Air Force". But due to PC wokeness, they revised the name. Anyway, really too bad.

Okay----Some alarming news on my f-book feed. One a the local; bike shops had an obit; the first of several by various biking enthusiasts. I did not know the gentleman, personally, but the guy apparently was well-known. Well, I always like to find out about these things. He was an avid cyclist, age 62, who went out for a ride, and died suddenly for medical reasons, as near as I can tell. Not in a collision or crash, from the sound of it. No hard facts given, but several of the jesus-freak religionist cyclers were commenting stuff like: "now he's biking with the lord" or some such crud. Apparently, superstition and magical thinking are the only thing permissible in polite conversation. But yeah---I looked on Strava, and wow! The guy has piled up a bunch of miles! Something like 6600 miles, this year; nearly 100,000 total since he got on Strava. . Lately, it's been breezy & cold--but he still got his miles in, every day.. I looked at his photo and the guy was VERY lean, and his leg muscles very developed. You could tell HE didn't go on any drive-n-eat excursions in I-wah! I don't know his medical history, either. Such as whether he'd had some underlying condition that he began cycling to overcome, either physical or psychological. But, it's my understanding that as you age, you require more recovery time after strenuous exercise; that you may be more impacted by cold weather hypothermia AND dehydration and electrolyte depletion. Something which may've caused him a cardiac episode, and maybe he did not get help, soon enough. That's my theory. I suppose people on the inside track will discuss the actual cause in hushed tones among themselves, but as one of the non-elites, I will have to settle for the mawkish platitudes and "the lord-called-him-home" type of stuff. Yup.

So sorry about the biking gentleman, bobby. People seem to become flummoxed when someone dies young while actively choosing a very healthy lifestyle. I remember when Jim Fixx, author of The Complete Book of Running, dropped dead at 52... while running. The cognitive dissonance of, "If you eat well and exercise like a beast, you'll live forever," and then someone comes along to break that "rule"--it makes us all want to go out and bring home a pizza and gallon of ice cream and channel surf in commemoration.

I think In Jim Fixx's case, people breathed a sigh of relief and went back to running after it was determined he had a congenital heart condition that caused his untimely death.

If Jim Fixx had done less running, more sitting around not stressing his heart ( but not eating hot dogs!) would he have lived longer? Just musing here.

Yeah, it seems that the congenital factor was just one piece of the puzzle. According to Wikipedia:

Fixx died on July 20, 1984, at age 52 of a heart attack, during his daily run on Vermont Route 15 in Hardwick.[1] The autopsy, conducted by Vermont's chief medical examiner, Dr. Eleanor McQuillen, revealed that atherosclerosis had blocked one coronary artery 95%, a second 85%, and a third 70%.[4][5]

In 1986 exercise physiologist Kenneth Cooper published an inventory of the risk factors that might have contributed to Fixx's death.[6] Granted access to his medical records and autopsy, and after interviewing his friends and family, Cooper concluded that Fixx was genetically predisposed—his father died of a heart attack at 43 after a previous one at 35,[7] and Fixx himself had a congenitally enlarged heart—and had an unhealthy life: Fixx was a heavy smoker before beginning running at age 36, had a stressful occupation, had undergone a second divorce, and gained weight up to 214 pounds (97 kg).[8] Medical opinion continues to uphold the link between moderate exercise and longevity.[9]

Like the super-thin mid-50's Lady of Perpetual Cycling Miles here, who had some quick down time last winter to have "one knee done", and will have "the other knee done" this winter. They are beyond achieving optimum fitness, for sure. That is why I previously mentioned "psychological" as an underlying condition. See? But yeah---some reactionary people will intercept the Jim Fixx Ball, and gleefully take it and run the other way. Quote: "Whyyy, by god, if he'da got together with his FAMBLY and drove ta the 'Chine Shed fer all ya can eat, steada riding around all the time on a kids' toy, whyyyy, he'd still be alive and well, by god!". The. most money I ever spent on a concert was $750 for a pair of tickets to see Paul McCartney on tour. Frankly, while I thought this was the outrageous splurge of a lifetime, a lot of my friends shrugged their shoulders at it. Diehard concert goers do pay a LOT more than $750 once in a lifetime. But as for the cover bands--my thoughts on those mirror my thoughts about fat-free ice cream. I'd rather have a melon ball size of full-fat, full-sugar ice cream once a week than a big bowl of "healthy" ice cream every day.

So, I'll take a once-in-a-lifetiime chance to see the Real Deal than 10 concerts by a cover band. That being said, I've never gone to another concert since McCartney's 2005 "US" tour.

Yup. Thanks for your Confession, Cath. 3 Hail Marys should suffice. People will pay BIG money to see ol' Carts in a concert. One o' my f-book friends in western Washington just went to one. But yeah---not my cup o' tea. I guess they gain prestige, as though it represented a big accomplishment, on their part. Ha. But yeah---I like good cover bands. One on youtube is Nashville-based "Foxes and Fossils". They sing a variety of pop tunes, including F-M's "Landslide", which is one by Stevie Nicks. Another video of Foxes... is their rendition of "When You Say Nothing At All", a Keith Whitley song. Good, real good. Then, there's the "Lexington Lab Band", primarily of 70's Southern rock, but spot-on cover(s) of the pnw band Heart. Hope that helps you kids some. While we're on the subject of old Beatpools, I do enjoy seeing videos of The Rutles, which parodies the mop-topped foursome. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Ha. Good clean fun. But yeah---I enjoyed the early Beatpools; the later beatpools, not as much. The long and winding hey lady jude madonna is VERY long and winding, unlike their clever ditties from early on. Yup. Hope that helps you some. Thankk Mee,.

The attraction of big arena events, whether it's music or sports or what ever are a mystery to me regardless of the cost. I know a woman who recently paid well over a thousand for up from tickets to see the Stones, which seemed slightly criminal to frugal me, but a relatively small amount for what I understand good super bowl tickets go for.

I still can't wrap my mind around the Ticketmaster/Taylor Swift fiasco.. where some people were willing to pay $20,000 for a ticket!!! I wouldn't pay that amount for any rock stoar--not even to pay Paul McCartney to be my escort for the night!

I guess charging outrageous prices for concert tickets weeds out the wheat from the chaff. This chaff wouldn't pay those prices. Who gets all that dough? You wouldn't think millionaires like Mick Jagger would even notice ticket revenue. Maybe I'm wrong.

The best concert I've been to in years was about 5 years ago at our county fair. Los Lonely Boys played for about 90 min. the best rock you could get for the price of fair admission. If they are ever in your area (they're out of TX and mostly play there, but do tour some) I highly recommend going to hear them.

I would’ve paid $1000 per seat for the last Stones tour. They started the tour in St. Louis. The reason I didn’t go was I considered that a Covid super spreader.

Well, for the record, the exact cost was $1600. and she went solo. She said that there were some rude people issues with the folks around her, but she didn't complain too much. I suppose some of the excitement for those large events might come from the crowds enthusiasm. I almost got tickets for Van Morrison at Red Rocks a few years ago for a couple of hundred dollars, but they sold out quickly. That's about the most I've ever considered for a music event, and you'd have to pay me to go to a pro football game.

It is fun to compare notes with people who went to big concerts in their younger days back in the 70's and their experiences, at least for those that remember them. Could be that live music was better then:-)

Now, I'd consider season tickets for the local symphony if covid, the drive, and parking were not such an ordeal.

IOkay--one local media outlet---probably our failing newspaper--featured a human interest story eulogizing the couple with the child who were killed in a bad wreck out here on the super slab on t-day evening. Just driving along, and WHAM, right into them. It said the child, weho survived, was being cared for by the womans' half-brother. The other dead couple were not mentioned, prolly cause the driver caused the accident, anyhow. Did not give the results of a blood draw, either. Would have made the story worthwhile, at least. Okay---Friday, I went to use the coin laundry up near one of THE most busy intersections in town. More on that subject, later. But yeah---I needed to use the coin-o-mat, on account of the cold weather, which causes the pipe in my laundry room to freeze. To remedy that is another project for another time. Yup. But, while I was there, IU went into the pawn shop next to the wash-o-teria, and rescued two classic bikes they had sitting there, for quite some time. Both of them need some work, but nothing major. One has the drop bars turned upside--down, street people-style. Both bikes need general cleanup, adjustment, and new bar tape. The older one with the upside-down dropo bars also has a VERY comfterbal aftermarket fat springer seat(saddle) and chromed steel seat post, that I will replace with a more original part. Yup. The other is newer, but not new--an aluminum-framed Lemond road bike. Though it's an entry-level model, it is a pretty deluxe bike. Hope they are not "hot". There was a very newish Specialized on/off road bike at the pawn shop that I could a had for the price of these two old road bikes, combined. Buit yeah----road bikes have been eclipsed in popularity by so-called mountain bikes. The street people and vagrants like them better, too. Okay----Po-leese were filmed taking down the yellow crime-scene tape at the rental house in Moscow, Id, where Idaho State U. students were murdered. . In case you did not know, Moscow is about 85 miles SE of Spokanistan, Washington, and sits next to the Washington state line. Across the line is Pullman, Wa. which is home of Washington State U. The police haven't detained anyone, as yet, and claim they have no suspects, and have investigated numerous individuals who have ties to the victims. Guess what? It sounds to mee as though it might be the act of an organized stalker/serial killer--a psychopath. They typically have no social connection to their victim. I qualify that by saying it might even be their first in a series, that hasn't happened, yet. But yeah---the image of the rental house has been blurred out on Google maps, but you can see it in the overhead and the rest of the neighborhood, which is woodsy and hilly terrain. So, the perpetrator may've had a lot of cover to conceal themself, though its winter time. Lots of unanswered questions. Amateur armchair detectives are now waiting for the science to match a DNA sample with a likely suspect. I know you kids go to great great lengths to solve nearly every social issue in discussion threads here, but what about this one? Just curious. Whodunit? ETA: I just checked, and there is a HF store in Pullman, and HF sells a K-Bar-style knife, pretty cheap; like under $10. So yeah--the perp may've disposed of it, immediately. Yup.

Okay---Guess what? The Po-leese made an arrest in PA, of a suspect in the Moscow student murders. He's 28, and was arrested at his parents home in a gated neighborhood. What do I find ironic about that? But yeah---the guy is a "perpetual; student" at WSU in Pullman, just across the state line. Why do I call him a perpetual student? Well, he was going for his Doctorate in Criminal justice, after earning his BA in psychology at a juco & transferring to a U to finish up and then gert a Maasters in Criminal Justice. See---those who wish to pursue a career as an LEO get the CJ degree, then work a few years to see if it's a good fit. Then--when they wish to attain advancement---go for the graduate studies. Maybe while working the late shift, somewhere. Also, I've found something else---and I know you kids will be annoyed by this----a good % of psych majors come from a dysfunctional background or are trying to find themselves. See? That's what Ted Bundy did. Yup. But yeah---the suspect looks creepy. My apologies, suspect. But yeah--he got caught because of the science, even though he mighta thought he could outsmart them. But, he cut himself, at the scene and left DNA. See? Betcha something else---the knife prolly came from HF in Pullman. Just betcha. Hope that puts yopur mind at ease. Thankk mee.

Nice work. TYVM, RR. For fun, I looked online to see what the experts say about setting posts. Well, HGTee-Vee experts say the rule O thumb for hole depth is 1/4 to 1/3 the total length of the post, which would mean 2'-2 '8". Ha. Well, the soil here is very rocky, and well before you reach 2', you're digging out larger and larger rocks. So, yeah--even with the electric hammer and rock bar, it's all work. So, I stop at just under 2', and put in an extra bag o' concrete mix. I've seen "pros" do less, around here, to git-er-done. Yup. I've got some more of these to do, for my cat-a-torium outdoor run.

Okay----Guess what? The Velocal company is closing by the years end. Possibly the owner/operator is retiring; I do not know. I may be the only one in SFD, Mo., crime capital, who has ever purchased Velo Cals. I have a set for my 1986 Schwinn Passage(the Packard Bike, as I call it), and a set for a Trek 1000. See---cyclists in this town are consumeristic. The Involuntary, low-income cyclists(who can't drive for various reasons)just want the cheapest, easiest-to-ride bike they can find(beg, barter, or steal), for city streets. The upscale Recreational Cyclists want the newest, most up-to-date and "In" bike they can afford to ride. There is a newcomer from you kidses favorite country here, who has Yuppie-priced bikes! (8K!) Yup. Possibly an MD, or whatever. See? But littlebittymee(a different breed of cat, right?)---I get stuck on a particular classic(Bike Boom Era) model, upgrade it with true improvements, and that's what I ride! Yup. See? So see--Velocals are zact reproductions of the original decals found on classic "Bike Boom" bicycles; i.e. Treks, Specialized, etc. But yeah--Rec Cyclists in Sfd are too busy being Sosh(socializing) or else riding 50 miles a day, 365 days a year, to do stuff such as restore their bike. They "trade"(get screwed) as often as they can, for the latest model. OTOH, the Invo Cyclists typically have bikes with broken cables, rusty chains, and weird alterations. They may even smoke a cigarette, while biking. See? The core occupation of the Rec enthusiast community is in office occupations or health care, and they typically are not mechanically inclined. See? But yeah---before you kids say lbb, "there's an economic opportunity for ya", forget it. I don't wish to deal with people, much, except to purchase choice old GOOD spare parts from the (decluttering) rec cyclists that I can use. Last fall, I bought a set of new-in-box pedals(actually, I think they had been installed and used very briefly)from an office lady at the college for $30. That is less than 1/2 the new price, and just what I was looking for to use on my Felt rebuild project. I may ebay the pedals I took off the Felt, at some point. But, back to the subject of Velocals---hopefully the proprietor will find someone to take over where he left off. Sure do.

Okay---Something else I just learned about the circumstances of the Moscow, Id. campus murder case: The police in Pa. where the suspect was arrested, had been keeping the home under surveillance for several days. A press leak says it was DNA evidence that linked the suspect to the case. He also has a white Elantra, the same model & color that was captured on surveillance video near the crime scene. But yeah--I figure what happened was, when the perp attacked the male victim, he fought back, and the attacker was injured and shed some of his DNA. One thing that has been said is that the crime scene as a mes, which indicates to me a fight or struggle. Plus, "some of the victims had defensive wounds", enquote. But yeah--the Male victim, Ethan, was athletic & fit. I'd guess he awoke & fought with the attacker. He was one of Triplets, and his surviving Brother & Sister also attend the same school. That adds even more to the pathos, to me. What else can be said? Is mass-murder like this an alternate method to the open-air shooting sprees we've seen? Just incredible. Is it just small-scale example of an innate need for warfare, for all of human history? You had many adventurous young boys volunteering for 'nam & WW2! I figure, somehow, that the USA hasn't fought a justifiable war, for a very, very long time. Maybe never. I theorize it was just a need to engage in bloody inter-tribal conflict, and political/ economic reasons were the excuse. See? Should we resume the draft, to take would-be warriors/natural born killers off the street, so they can work through their aggressive impulses "fighting for your Freedom", per Shrub? Hope that helps you some.

Okay----I'm about outta eggs. Guess what? I don't really like eggs, very well. But I have a craving for them. Also, I feed them to my doggs, once in awhile. I hard-boil them for myself & also the huskees, and mix em with their dry food. The catts don't seem to care for eggs. Nope. Okay---today & yesterday, I messed with the batterie(s) in my 1977 GMC pickup. I just overhauled the engine, in 1980. At that time, I used the engine in a 1973 Chevy 3/4 ton. But, that's another story. Anyway---the GMC has been sitting for a couple months. I start it occasionally, to keep the battery up, and charge the battery on the winch on my trailer. But yeah---they froze during this last cold spell, and after charging all afternoon yesterday, they'd crank the engine for a short time. I knew they were toasted, but wanted to get the last bit of use of of it. Then, last night, a storm came up. I got just about everything under cover EXCEPT the battery charger charging the pickup battery. Plus, one catt was locked out in my storage shed while I was re-organizing. She was comfy & had a light in in there. Plus--one other cat, outside that evaded me. Well, she took cover and was on the doorstep early this morning. I went out back and got the other girl out of the shed. So, I went to the building material place to get some very classy material for the interior of my backyard cottage---1/4 OSB AKA waferboard, and some boards for my fence gate. So---my pickup would not crank at the lumber yard, but a gentleman kindly get it a boost, as I had brought along cable in case. After I arrived back at the ranch, I went to the wreckin' yard and picked up a big battery for $50. Poiunt is, lots of people would not allow such an event to interrupt their busy day with such frustration. Nope. They'd say hey---time to "trade"(get screwed) this ol' bucket o' bolts in. I didn't know you had dogs, too. Oh, yeah. Polar Doggs. I putt new straw in their houses, springkled with Bayer Bug Dust, for the next cold snap. I almost could not sleep at night, when it was below zero, lately. But, I hauled warm water and lots of dogg foo1d out, and they were fine. I see people downtown around campus who have purebred siberians on leashes that are house dogs, and they are "pretty", but not very robust. But, if you keep a purebred siberian outdoors, year-round in a 30' x 50' dogg run, with stuff to jump on, and walk it at tthe park on occasion, thatt dogg will be very, very Huskee! Because they will do their own exercise routine, and develop an all-weather coat. I follow the pet lost & found, and huskees and boston terriers are about THE most stray-prone purebreds. Why? They are hyper-active breeds, yet urban Consumers buy them for their looks, as hpuse pets. Huskeees aren't good with catts, unless they are raised from a puppy with them. But yeah---they are destructve, too. Just for something to do. Hope that helps you some.

Okay-----The other day, I made some reference to Fidel Castero, as though I was disparaging him. Welll---he was a dictator-for-life, even though he claimed that was not his intention, at the outset. But yeah---at least his regime greatly reduced consumerism in his island nation, and was not lavished with U.S.foreign aid like SOME small nations I know of. Right? But yeah---here's an old Huttson in Cuba that apparently is a dailyt Driver. It has some creative ways to maintain it, too. Hope that helps you some.5060

Okay---I came up with a concept for my new church, called: The Church of the Holy Redemption. See--I buy a Dodge Maxi-Van and an open-top cargo trailer to pull behind it, and take the church members out on every Sunday Morning, to comb roadsides for empty beverage cans to load into the trailer. Then, I bless them. Monday, I take the cans into the redemption center to get cash. Sounds like a plan, to mee. Thankk Mee.

Okay----I got in my 16-year-old subcompact economy car I bought from the wreckin' yard with a bad engine almost 6 years ago, after I checked the ait in the front tires, and took my Kitten in a deluxe cat carrier that I bought from the pawn shop 20 years ago, up to a town 28 miles away, to have her spaded(spayed). She weighed in at 5lbs, 3 oz. , which is slightly more than the minimum they require at the clinic. So, I left her in the AM, and made the return trip that same afternoon, paid the fee in cash, and brought her home and set the carrtier on my bed, where she stayed over night while recovering from the anesthesia. Today, she's fine though not quite yet up to her [0000000000000o\

My new cat weighed 4.7 lbs last fall when she went to the vet after the rescue group took her in. I think she was spayed then. I wonder if that minimum weight requirement is for cats without known birthdays. My cat was known to be 7 years old.

Okay-----This just in----last Sundy, when the Cross-worshipping Xtians go to church, a retired reporter for the local newspaper, age 73, was called home by The Lord, when he & his wife were on their way to church. See, what happened was, a van driven in trhe oncoming lane of a diveded highway, by an incopetent careless idiot witjh HIS fammmely(wife & two brats), collided with a concrete abutment then crossed the mwedian into the path of the reporters' vehicle. The reporter was killed, and the fambly was all seriously injured. Probabluy will incur hundreds of thousand$ in medical expenses. A third vehicle was also i8nvolded in the collision, and demolished, along with the first two. So, yeah---traffic was blocked for hours, during the investigation of the wreck. The newspaper is eulogizing the late reporter, saying what a fine gentleman he was. Prolly, there were 20 or 30 police ossifers out at the scene@$30 hr each,, as is usually the case, plus cop cars with their cherries on, idling the whole time. See? But yeah---if Those People'dve STAYED HOME, steada wasting gas to get out and DRIVE, just to praise the lord, why---they;'d be safe and sound, chances are. Don't drive for frivolous reasons. That was a tragic tale indeed, and going to church is never a good idea. Who is your nun friend in the picture?RR--I will explain who my icons are. The nun is Sr Gory Dorthie. See--at one time, she was an English Comp instructor at a juco waaaay up north, in the middl;e o' nowhere(IWAH). Anyway, she devoted a good deal of time in her lectures about the hazards and consequences that frequently befall young men in particular. Especially motorcycling. She would include gory details about maiming & impaling, etc. After retiring from the juco, she entered(or re-entered) the convent in Zurra, and taught at some school they operated. But yeah---she was similar in character to SNL's Debbie Downer, another of my icons.(see photo). And then---the attractive 40-ish woman is none other than MS Van Hooten, one of the Manson clan, who stabbed the la biancas dozens of times. She has been recommended for parole a number of times, after serving 50 years in prison, but neither Gov Brown OR super-idiot Gavin will okay her release. He says she might still pose a danger to society. Also, so did Gov Schwarznegger, and you know HE'S a risk-taker; He even married a Kenn-O-dee! Ha. But yeah, ALL hot-looking wimmin pose a danger-to-society, according to the results of my research. Hope that doesn't sound "misogynistic" or "hateful". Ha. It's not. I am a researcher, and dispassionate about my work. In my spare time, I listen to Brill Building songs like "Here You Come Again", sung by Dolly Parton, and "And The Grass Won't Pay No Mid" sung by Mark Lindsey, paying no attention whatever to the lyrical content. It's just typical Brill Building music. Yup. But yeah--here's two more photos of Debbie D & Ms Vanhooten.Just so you'll know. 50715072

Okay---The latest book I been reading is The Accidental Victim, by James Reston jr. It is concerning the JFK assassination, which I'm sure you kids have already heard and seen enough about, formed an opinion, and now-- you've have had media overload & are jaded. There've been literally 1000's of books and articles and other media pieces, contending that it was a conspiracy of some faction & a cover-up. I've read enough of those to realize that those sound like that rantings of a paranoid schizophrenic. I've also read the credible "Death of a President"(Wm Manchester), "Lee & Marina"(McMillan); "Case Closed"(Posner); "Lee: A Portrait"(Robert Oswald); and several others that make sense. .I've also read just enough of "Oswalds Tale(Mailer) to recognize what a piece of junk it is. Lots and LOTS of junk journalism is out there, by people with an axe to grind, like Oswald himself. But, "Accidental Victim" is factual, credible, and dovetails perfectly with the other credible, non-schizo works I've read. Yup. But, the novel premise of Restons' book is presenting what has lain in plain sight all along, but been purposely overlooked by officialdom and the media, all along--something that does amount to a conspiracy. But yeah---what it is, is that Kennedy was NOT the primary target in the shooting perpetrated by Oswald. Kennedy, (just as was Officer Tippit) was collateral damage; the object of Oswalds antipathy, fueled by his inner rage, was the Governor of Texas, John Connally, who was seriously wounded but survived. Oswald despised Conally, but admired Kennedy! That has been fully documented. I guess it was because Kennedy, being the president, and the Cold War against the spread of Communism, received top billing. Connally was a career pol, not a statesman, who later defected to the Republican Party, as Oswald had defected to Russia and redefected to the USA. But yeah---Average americans can not wrap their heads around a nobody like Oswald doing something so outrageous on his own. But, my new neighbor across the street who is a renter, also is making payments on a Huuuuge Dodge Ram Monster Pickup that no doubt cost more than the home he is renting sold for, several years ago. Plus, a huuuuge tee-veee, as well. But, he's still "normal". If he has any opinion about the assassination, it is that it was a conspiracy, coverup or whatever. Yup. So anyway, Accidental Victim is a really good book, and Reston is a very fine writer, as well as a scholar. Yup. Hope that helps you some. Here's a photo of Connally. Thank mee5081

I see that Santa Claus did not bring you a paragraph maker for Christmas.Ha. True; but I was a Bad Boy this years. Yup. See--"Oswaldkowich" as he was sometimes referred to,as was a devout fan of Marx. He was idealistic, to a fault. That is why he emigrated to Russia--he thought living under a pseudo-communist regime would be much better. In our time, he'd be living in Portla-laland or Seeimaddled. But yeah---among other things, he was VERY troubled by ray--cizzm in America and segregation, having grown up in the mid-south. In 1the spring of 1963, he attempted to assassinate retired General Edwin Walker, in Dallas, with the same rifle he later used on that dreadful deadly day in Dealy in Downtown Dallas. Walker had been an avid anti-desegregationist(in fact--relieved of his command by Kennedy); and that was Oswalds' motive. That and the fact that Ozzie was one of those over-aggressive, impetuous young guys in his 20's. Like the young fella from that littlebitty town waaaay up in the middle-o-nowhere who naively re-upped for a 2nd tour o' duty in Nam, because it was for a good cause, and then was killed by a grenade two weeks later. But yeah---Oswald shot at Walker, just for spite, and shot at Connolly(hitting Kennedy), who for less than a year was Sec'y of the Navy,( which oversees the Marines), when the Honorable discharge Oswald received was amended to an Undesirable Discharge, while Oswald was in Russia. When Oswald wrote and asked for a re-hearing on the matter, he was essentially stonewalled. Connally staff sent him a letter, with Connally's smiling face pictured on the envelope. Connally was subsequently elected Governor of Texas. He was a old-school conservative Democrat, who also opposed de-segregation. So yeah---his politics, and the fact that he snubbed Oswald, caused Oswald to intensely dislike him. See? The very first witness to testify before the Warren Commission(as it is popularly called)was Oswalds' Widow, Marina. She indicated that A)Oswald shot at Walker B)Disliked Connally C)Had no grudge against Kennedy. See? So, the incident in Dealy was Ozzie lashing out at the system who allowed men like Connally to govern. Yup. I can't say I agree with what Oswald did; he was a dangerous man. No doubt about it. But, most assassins AREsomeone LIKE Oswald(or Jacob "Jack Ruby" Rubenstein), whether they represented a good cause or not. Hope that helps you some. Thankk zMee. To me, anyweay. But yeah---as for gycerine, it is a VERY important chemical compound, used for many important products. So much so, that you could probably purchase it in plastic drums of 35 or more gallons, for far less than small consumer-sized bottles of it cost. Then, you could store it in at out-of-the-way at your place, and siphon it into dispensers, and hand carry it to the point of use. Yup. Edited to add: Here is where I source many VERY important and useful materials. It is commonly referred to as a roll-off container. Yup. This one has a built-in ladder, which is VERY helpful and makes for EZ-access. Some day we should have a discussion here about the techniques and politics for salvaging from trash dumpsters. It does require technique and discretion. I tread lightly, because we have too many cops here in Crimefilled, just looking to cite someone, here. Also, you want to avoid physical injury to yourself. Bobby, I unfortunately thought of you yesterday when I was listening to Joe Rogan interview two Kansas City boys who have made their name doing ghost hunting videos on YouTube. Joe asked them where was the most evil place ever visited and they said Villisca. I know you’ve been to Villisca. Apparently there’s a theory that a man who rode a train and killed many people along a train route is responsible for those deaths.

The same two boys from Kansas City talked about their visits to Vlad the Impaler’s places in Transylvania, the Haunts of Count Dracula. Since I’ve been there I knew what they were talking about.

Joe mentioned the JonBenét Ramsey house in Boulder. He said he lived in Boulder for a while and when he was househunting he saw that house for sale and wondered why it was so cheap. The remarkable thing is that these two boys from Kansas City did not know about JonBenét Ramsey. How very weird. They would’ve been toddlers when she was killed.

But yeah---I've read "The Man From The Train", by a father/daughter team of writers. It discusses the theory that the VAM was committed by a serial killer who rode the rails, back then. Rail transportation was about all there was, to travel any distances. There really was no highway system. But yeah---the authors document late-night home-invasion axe murders of families in the usa, that occurred during that time frame---late 1800's-preWW1. After I read the book, I emailed the Author about a relevant factoid I had run across on Findagrave, so they could update future editions. Also, Prof. Edgar Epperly has studied the Villisca case since the mid-50's, and published a book and has made a number of appearances in small towns waaaay up north in the middle o' nowhere, to speak about his book. Just for something to do. But no---I'm not driving alllll the way to IWAH, though. I'd have to listen to people attending the lectures ask dumb, ignorant questions, and I'd prolly tell 'em to read the book, idiot. You know how those IWAH people are. But yeah---I've read one about the Ramsey case, and it goes without saying that it is VERY pathetic. Plus, you have the John M Karr aspect, but I believe he's a nut who had nothing to do with the crime. Just an attention-seeker, who needed a plane ticket back to the USA from Thailand. We need a special forum on here for Crime, etc. But, the downside to that is, just as in the world of all things automotive, it attracts its share of unintelligent participants. See--I called several times to her to get her in, without response. But there she was, early the next morning, when I began to search/ . I don't want them out there, freezing their tails off, or getting under a car hood or in a car, to keep warm. Nope. As you prolly know, Catts are VERY important and extremely valuable. You would have to pay meee $4000 to go to a football game. I don't even watch them on TV, not even the Superbowl with its supposedly wonderful commercials and halftime shows. Yes, FooBaw is a waste of everyones' resources. The players go from being affleetz, to being partially disabled, in some manner. I was reading about several very "successful" pro boxers, who ended up with dementia later on, due to their repeated brain concussions. That's a different sport, but not much different. But yeah--billions lavished on stadiums that are demolished after 50 years or so, 1000's of people driving to and from, for something to "do". What a waste.

Okay--I was reading about how, in the aftermath of the purchase of Alaska by the USA from Russia, that the USA was also offered the 700-mile long Kamchatka Peninsula by the Czar & later by Lenin. Russia was cash-strapped at the time, andf Kamchatka(in far NE Asia, was also wilderness, like Alaska. But yeah--wouldn't it be fun if the USA gummint had taken them up on that deal? Now, it appear that the Russians have built a paved, two-lane highway through the length of Kam. to connect the small settlements there. The Russians are not pressed for lebensraum, at this point. So, their border wars seem peculiar. Did you kids know that in the mid-30's, the Soviets establish an autonomous(well-semi-autonmous) Jewish state, that is still extant? But yeah---it was not located on the pleasant shores of the Mediterranean, but in far-east Asia in Siberia on the Chinese border. A place that is remote, and very suited for the hardy. But, it does have natural resources. Yup. See: JAO, Russian Federation.

Okay----Two VERY(x4444) Important things. I had not encountered Mr Brown T in almost a month, and we've had some VERY brutal winter weather---almost like Cannnada. Yup. But, this week I saw a cat outt bacck--just a blur, because it ran away. Then, last night at about 7:30, Brown T was ouit in my driveway as I returned from the store. So, yeah---I was glad to see T & treated him to dinner. Thing is, he's not extremely thing, but he is kinda ragged as though he has fleas. Hmmm. Last fall, I dosed him with flea repellent; I may have to do it again. But yeah---I had conferenced with a nearby neighbor who said they set food out for all the stray catts in the hood, but they are not treated as indoor catts. So, maybe thatt is T's home base. Okay---one other thing. I am getting set to install the cabinets in my backyard cottage. They are lovely & VERY exquisite, salvaged from the university, with an Oak finish.Yup. I will post pictures, as soon as the install is complete. But yeah---I am VERY busy. See? WQent to the wreckin' yard on a sale day, Purchase one set of 4 Goodyear Tyres in like new shape. Also, three suburban rims. That was all there was of them. But see--I had one matching rim stored at home, along witrth centers and rings. 15 x 8. Not monster 20's like they all have to have, these days. But, it takes a lotta gas to push big weeelz around, everywhere! But yeah---I also removed an excellent no-rust pickup bed, and pushed it on gravel almost 300 feed up to the office, since they wouldn't let me back down in there to load it. A young whippersnapper stopped to help me push, but he gave up after about 20 feet. Kids these days! So yeah---got a nice ol' pickup bed, 30 years old. Plus a huuuge tree limb snapped and fell on the chain link fence ourt here, so I hadda dispose of that, and mend the fence. I DO wear my back saver, when doing that kinda stuff. . BTW, JFK's back-saver is also in the national archive, though not on display. He was wearing it, on that dreadful, deadly day in Dealy, in downtown Dallas, being driven to his death by the other demmacrats. Yup. But yeah---JFK had serious back prollems; multiple surgeries in the 1950's that were kept hush-hush from the media. Yup. No way could he chop Wood like Dick Rayggun. I don't believe he ever consorted with Marilyn, either. Nope. Hope that helps you some. Thankk Mee.

Ha. Everyboidy elsse will be inside, ordering Pizza & sit-n-wathch foo-baw. They are VERY sports-minded He-men. Yup. Edited to add: I just ree-lized the Stupid Bull is NEWXT Sundy! The Pro Bowl is today if you simply must exercise your indifference. I'll be watching! Hope that helps you some. Okay---Of course I can't condone or condemn someone for sit-n-watch a ho' buncha nuthin' on the Tee-Vee, but it is not as bad as acquiring tickicks, making rezzervations at some ho' tel, and drive-n-eat all the wayto the stadium to sit-n-watch foo-baw, with 50,000 other people. Stadium Sports are a form of socialist mind control. See? A socialist believes banning "assault rifles" and handguns is the way to curb mass shootings and road-rage incidents. Wrong. The way is to AVOID crowds and stay off the roads, as much as possible. Be aware that there are many more "Oswalds" out there, looking for their tickkck to infamy. Wanna see a moo-vvcee? Noooo, don't get out and DRIVE to see the midnight showing of "Dark Knight" at the theater in Doo-Doo town. Nope. Rent a viddeoo, if you must. But yeah---Al, you are making progress, and I don't mean demmacratt-style progresss. Nope.

Okay----The Media is a little bit unhappy, and I'll tellya why. See--if involves unfairness and inequality. What happened was, white male NASCAR racer got arrested leaving Can Coon Mexico for trying to board a plane with a handgun in his carry-on bag. "I forgot", was his excuse, and The Media gleefully reported that he was fined and sentenced to 3 1/2 years in a Mexxican Slammero. Yup. That would cramp his style, for sure. But yeah----now The Media is VERY unhappy because instead of being locvked up like Black Alphabet Bassabaw player Brittney Griner & having to be traded for some really nefarious and dangerous person in U.S. custody, Busch was allowed to pay a nice $1000 fine and leave the country. I hope they let him have his gun back. But yeah---there is some question of preferential treatment, there. Ha. Hope that helps you kids some. Thankk mee.

Okay---They put a man to sleep in Zurra, last night. He'd been sitting in jail for 15-20 years, already, while good 'tourneys were trying to save his life. What life? So--He allegedly killed 4 people---his fambly. But yeah--now there's one empty jail cell available for some other unlucky person. Yup. Also, I can't figure out WHY you kids don't have a thread ten miles long going on and on about Bradley/Chelsea Manning? Just what is he/she/it doing, these days? Prolly being kept and maintained by The System, don't you think? Just curious.

Okay-----went on a groc run, yesterday. Plus, the coin laundry(same management since 1983). Took 5 loads, and washed them twice. See---I been hunkered down for the last month, due to weather conditions. But yeah---got 'em squeaky clean. Then, on to the deep discount damaged salvage overstock derailed freight grocery barn, and got a case o' mac-n-cheese, with an additional 10% elderly old man discount. Plus, 3 bage o' cheese curls & a box o' chips ahoy cookies. Yup. Then, on to the wallymart neighborhood mart, which is NOT in my hood(4 miles away vs 2 miles to the sooper center)but see---the damaged overstock freight place is on the way two miles out, which leaves two more miles to the wally n-mart. Stocked up on dry catt food & dry dogg food and some canned catt food---the cheapest being 54-cents a can. Only, I bought the large economy size. Then, doubled back, and stopped at the nearby deep discount place, that specializes in house brands from several places--the nearby dairy and salso a groc distributor. Their prices can't be beat. Okay---canned tuna in oil, five iounce can---same price as WM catt food! So yeah---I got some. Plus, more mac-n-cheese! Yup. How do you like that? So, today, I unload everything, shelve and hanger it, as the case may be. Hope to stay home all weekend, except for a short bike ride to pay a bill & ask the rep about a phone function. Yup.

Okay---New development in the Idaho Four Murder Case. The rental house where the murders occurred has had the windows and entry points boarded up, and security fence panels surround the building. How do you like that? Prolly, it will remain that way until the case against the alleged perpetrator is over, which could could take quite awhile. Lots of people online are demanding that the structure be bulldozed. But I say nay-nay. See? But yeah--I can see a potential opportunity there as a tourist site. You betcha. Maybe a haunted house B-n-B complete with seances and mediums and paranormal investigations and other fakery aired on cable TV. You will have to admit that the place is a stigmatized property. Well isn't it? Hope that helps you kids some.5216Edited to add: This just in: An online news article says that the owner of the aforementioned rental property has donated it to the U of Iowohidaho, and of course the good bureacrats who are quite accustomed to spending other peoples' money senselessly and VERY freely, have declared that the structure will be razed, ASAP. See how dumb and consumeristic they are? But yeah---tell you what---if they knocked down every stigmatized property in THIS littlebittytown, why it would keep the demolition companies VERY busy! That being said, I DO know of five stigmatized houses in my vicinity that were demolished in the aftermath of serious incidents occurring within, though only three were razed immediately afterward, on account of their notoriety. And that's because they had burned. Yup. But, the majority of stigmatized homes, even if subject to arson to conceal a crime, are repaired and restored and resold. Some people ain't skeered to live in a stigmatized property! But yeah---a school administrator--they fall into that category of being very emotionally insecure and superstitious. Plus--spendy. It also accounts for their belief in being PC as a remedy for all perceived social ills! See? They are not as intelligent as they would have you believe; They simply hide behind their big degrees. Plus, repack the hubs, which is the dreaded part. But, the rest of the front end looks good & will be greased. Also, I'm going to reinstall the hydroboost setup, whch I had reomed for a previous owner & kjept. I've also got a spare hydro-boost & PS pump and lines, just in case. This truck also has a tilting steering column, that I installed years ago. Then removed to change out the cab. But yeah---big fat redneck geezers almost need a tilt column. Yup. See---due to squirrels chewing on it, and also repairs to the roof and ceings, the warrrin;' got messed up. So yweah----I had to fix it. And o' course---warrrin' is VERY confusing to us hill people. Yup. Also, another this is integration of a breaker panel in the cottage, something it did not have before. Plus--installing the salvage auction fluorescent light fixtures, so I can see. Okay----About 5 or 6 years agfo, I was browsing at a flea market, and saw a nice steel-framed road bike for sale. It was not a dumpster special, but I thought about it andf made an offer on it and got a counter-offer. Well, IO can alwaysd use another bike, right? The frame is my size, See? Anyway--it's a Terry Symetry. See--Terry bikes were a brand established by a lady and most of them had a smaller front wheel, but not the Symetry. It's also pastel green, similar to the Bianchi bike color, and has some scrapes on it. So, what I might do is tear it down, change out the bottom bracket for a cartrige, and repaint it a better color that similar-year treks would use w/repro Trek decals. I already have a Trek Headbadge. Then, use one of my take-off Giant seats, grease the headset, uswe a crankset I have out of a mid-80's trek(that other brands also used), a new chain and cables. The Araya Wheels look good, and use the old screw on 6-speed freewheel. But guess what? I have a new, aftermarket 8-speed freewheel, and the old SR derailleur should work with it. But yeah---It'll have fresh paint and decals & look like a Trek, not a Terry. I'm not attempting to deceive or defraud anyone, and only an expert would know the difference or even care. But yeah---it's a project. Will post photos, later on.

Well, okay---I been busy with my projects. But, last week I started a side project, to dispose of some worn-out tires. See--the tire shops now want $5 to take them. Plus--a fee if you also want them dismounted from rims. So anyway---I've taken some to the tyre shop for dismounts; got another load to go. Some that were already dismounted I used a sawzall to cut the sidewalls out on both sides. a few I'm going to use as pallets I cut obne sidewall out. See---that keeps them from accumulating water. Also, in order to placve tires in the trash cart, they must have the sidewalls cut out, and I like to cut the tread across in one place, as well, because it fits better in the trash carts. Yup. Sad to say I missed church andf the games and of course--to drive-n-eat, like summa Those People like to do. Anyway, hope that helps you some.

Okay---last night, I dozed off, while listening to Capital Childrens choir & reading about hizzzoner, da mayor, and realized at 2 am that I did not set the trash cart by the curb, OR fill it with cut-up tyres, beforehand. So there I was, out there at 2 am, putting cut-up tires in the cart and pulling it out front as QUIETLY as I could. Those plastic trash carts sound like a Bass drum, being pulled empty, if you don't use careful. But yeah---the trash company came by at 5:52 AM, and dumped it, for me. So anyway--Next week, I should have the rest of them disposed of. Yup.

Okay---I just know you kids wonder what I;'m gonna do with the moo-lah I saved, cutting up old tires and putting them in the trash. Will it be yummy restaurant meals? Concert tickkicks to see Hermans' Hermitts? Trips to places our ancestore emigrated from, to get away from poverty and oppression? Nope. But yeah---the answer is Bike Parts. Yup. My low-budget restoration of that flea market steel-frame road bike, to be exact. One set of used handle bars; one used crankset; one bent-up blackburn rear rack. Then, new bar tape, new downtube cable stops, new 8-speed freewheel, all from ebay. Then from my personal warehouse of surblus parts: used bar-end shift levers, used quill stem; slightly-used chain; cable housings for shift levers; brake levers;used tires(Continental Gatorskins), misc other stuff. But yeah--it's coming along nicely. Bike parts--even used---have increased greately in the last few years. So, it's all a good investment. Compared to drive-n-eat, anyway.

Good, good. TYVM, RR. Pottery tools are a VERY good investment, compared to buying concert ticckkicks to see the touring Supergroup made up of the sole surviving members of the Monkees & the Bee Gees and Lynyrd Skynyd. Yup. While we are on that subject---I'm shopping online for an amateur-grade bicycle wheel dish gage. See---when you reagear a bike, the rear wheel can become off-centered in the frame. Yup. So anyway---this evidently causes less than optimal handling & tire wear issues. Plus, your bike caliper can wear on the rim. See? So yeah--I've already gor a used truing stand I bought off CL, and an inexpensive spoke tension gage, and a spoke wrench. But guess what? I never got around to acquiring a dish gage! So yeah---I COULD haul my affected bike weelz to the Byke shop, and let The Cool People handle it for a fee. But, for that money, I could purchase the tool I lack, and self-improve by learning the procedure following you-tube tutorials. Plus--alleviate the "cognitive dissonance" I experience when I have to deal with those Cool Kids at the Bike Shop. I don't like to deal wih them, and be at their mercy. . It's also a tedious trip across town, in traffic. See? But yeah--think I'll get a dish gage, and work on my "childs' toy" instead of going fisheen 5271waaa5271y5271up in minnasoootah, like the he-men from that small town in iwah, boyhood home of Alaskas' most notorious serial killer.5271 See?

Okay--Package Tracking sez the used crankset from Oregon should arrive today. It's the piece I need to proceed forward. Yup. Then I can pull the BB and see what I need to do, there. But yeah---this old bike is being regeared slightly, with old mountain byke parts. It's what you need to road ride if: You live here; You are old and heavy. Yup. But yeah---the local 417 People & faddists with their "Gravel Bikes" that have a 30 tooth front and then similarly low gears on the rear. Even though there are no unpaved roads within 20 miles. Just rec trails. The President of the old local byke club resigned mid-term, because he's like me in that he's a believer in road-riding as the primary focus, especially after all the progress that's been made in public policy. Well, the faddists all want focus on the local trails and also hauling your byke to counties farther out to ride on gravel roads. Well, you can do that, but don't expect everyone else to embrace it as the norm! But yeah---the "Gravel People" are come-here's of the liberalistic persuasion, and as usaual, advocates of change-for-changesd'-sake.and faddists. You should see summa the high-dollar plastic bykes they have. Ha. Road biking ain't dead, and trail riding isn't safer---especially with more riders than ever hitting the trails in events. Just about the biggest risk factor in crashes(besides inattentiveness) is other cyclists! That's what my experience is. Yup. But yeah---I may have to attend summa thew club events more, to give 'em my 2 cents, until they change or kick me out. Ha. But, I can still road ride. See?

It's like that they’re you can’t sit your ass intoMona Lisa---better off in a museum.Yup. But yeah--I guess I could trade for a red $8000 cook stove. Ha. Hope that helps you some.

By this definition, they do not run. You cannot drive them down the street. Why am I not surprised.

I read your statement of fact that you have car parts spread all over your garage. I don’t know about you, but that’s pretty clearly a car that is not in running order.

Okay---But see--the car already HAS an operational engine & transmission in it. It is "move-in ready", so to speak. But I wanted to upgrade it with improvements, if you get my drift. See? But yeah--I just know I deserve criticism for not spending enough time on yard work and mowing. Plus raised-bed gardening. Yup.

Okay. Whatever you say. But yeah---I've been kind of depressed, like an after-game letdown, ever since they arrested the guy who they say dun it, in the Idaho Four Case. See---there's no more news. Nope. He's gonna sit there, while the loyers fiddle around for days, weeks, months, years, decades. Yup. Whoever the culprit is, he will prolly oulive many o' the friends and family o' the vicyims. See? But, that's rampant liberalism, for you. But yeah--how sure are the kops that he's guilty? He's been on trial in The Media, but records are sealed, and the defendant(as careless as he was, evidently)isn't talking, as far as I know. So anyway---I've had to be satisfied with news on the Lori Vallow case. I've learned that I didn't have THE meanest Mom in the world, ha. So, don't go getting started on that--we know your Mom was mean. Anyway, I've got to get going. Hopwe that helps you some. Thankk Mee.

Okay---some good news! I won, I won, I Won! I just got the good news that I won 3, 4-drawer file cabinets! Well, they WILL cost $3.56, plus they are located 50 miles away. Yup. But yeah---it's worth it, because I can use them; I'm running out of storage cabinets for all my STUFF. See? I prolly will haul them back, one or two at a time, in the back o' my hatchback which I purchased at the wreckin' yard & which when NEW was one of the cheapest new cars available! Yup. Maybe, I can tie one of the cabinets on the roof, and haul the other two under the hatch. We'll see. So anyway--they are that nice semi-gloss black file cabinet color. Hope that helps you some. Thankk Mee.

Okay---Did some consulting with a tape measure, this morning, and we concluded that the three professional-grade file cabinets would fit in the car, my subcompact 3-door coupe Yup. Don't need no giant-sized monster truck, like a lotta these guys. Nope. So anyway---I cleared out any stuff in the car I would not need, and gathered up some stuff I WOULD need, and headed on out. But yeah---much to the sellers amazement, I loaded the 3 file cabinets in the car, which took a little doing. The seller congratulated mee for getting them so cheap; & though they aren't in like-new shape, they will definitely suffice for my purposes. So, anyway---I made it back to the ranch, while traffic was getting heavy, and unloaded them. Hope that helps you some.5293

Okay---the file cabinets had each drawer marked, according to the subject. See? All nice and neat. The bottom drawer of one of the cabinets was labeled: "Snacks". Ha. But yweah--I have snacks in at least one drawer, in files I already have, to keep cats from getting into them. You kids should think about doing that, too. But yeah---about a block away from the office, there was a carryout Pizza Hut. Maybe they kept leftover pizza in the drawer. I don't know. Prolly not.

Okjay---here's a photo o' G. Paltrow marching into court wearing her womens' militia boots. But yeah--I wish I could find a related photo of her, where she reminds me of the-grinch. Yup. She not boo tee ful. Not no mo'. So anyway---we may conclude that she shoulda just settled outta court for the paltrowy $300,000 he's asking. Uh-huh. That's petty cash in hollyweird. This is bad for her image. Hope that helps you some.530453045304

But yeah---they voted to steal Xmas away from the poor old man she crashed into, and give the hollyweird actress one paltry dollar. As if, she needs the money. I told you she was a Grinch. Okay---There are many things that give me almost endless amusement. See? It's usually something about what some people seem to think is really cool. The whole concept of 417-land(Eat, drink, and be married, from scripture, loosely) is a good one! But yeah---I thought of this what-if, where they opened up a Seven Eleven Missippissi location here, featuring throwed rolls & live entertainment by a 99-year old man on his banjo. Business Casual(ballcap& cammo overalls) requested. That'd go over good, I'm afraid. Ha.5345

Okay---What some people think is really cool(ha)is the product of a local company. They market bike racks to put on the back of your monster van or SUV or pickup, to haul your high-$$$ "gravel bike" or "mountain bike", many counties away--even to neigboring states Ark & Ok, to ride bikes. What makes it not only ree-dick-ulous is A) the amount of effort expended over the years to make THIS county "Bicycle Friendly", including infrastructure and driver awareness; and B)Those bike racks sell for close to $1000. Not quite, but close. Then the Cool People have to have the latest "Gravel Bike" with a plastic frame and electric shiftinf and hydraulic brakes, but just one small front chainring. Reverse progress, for the sake of "something new". See? Then, they haul their $6000 plastic bike to ark, so they can ride in the mud, and get the bike dirty. Chain and all. Cool=Stupid. Yup. Then, trade, for the latest thing, every year. Seewhatumsayin'?

Okay----I figure that since them demmacratz are going all-out to bork Trump and now Clarence Thomas, that turnabout is fair play. Paybacks are hell. So yeah---how about a rally---say 20,000 of the faithfull---in fronta ol' Jimmah Cahtahs home, while he's on his deathbed---with everyone chanting: "hey, hey, ho' ho', the worst president EVER has got to GO!!!", for hours on end. That'll teach 'em. Maybe another 100,000---no--300,000--on the Mall in D.C. , chanting the same thing. Over and over and over. A show of solidarity of The Formerly Silent Majority, who listen to AM talk radio, their only platform.
Yup.

Okay---Get yer tickicks NOW, ta see Jerry Steinfield say funny things in Cedar Rapids, Iwah next summer. See---he's on tour, as they say. Must need the mooh-lah. Ha. Guess what---there's only 3(three) tickicks left, the cheap one is $399, and the top price one is 659, and the other one somewhere in between. But yeah---sounds to be really questionably worth it, ta spend that much on Steinfield Tickicks. Because hey---Jerry was the LEAST entertaining one, waaay back on his Tee-Vee show. He played straight man to the other characters. Hope that helps you some. Thankk mee.

I've seen brief clips of Jerry doing standup, and I never found him all that funny. The only comedian I would be tempted to see is Ismo. He cracks me up.Okay---I do agree. That said, I had a conspiracy-theory revelation, after I looked to see who Ismo is. The theory is this: Ismo is on tour as a sort of goodwill ambassador in the USA and western europe. It is for the purpose of raising awareness that Finns are people, too, and that defending them with US lives and US armaments is the right thing to do, if and when Vladimir gets out of hand, like Adolf. See? Ismirs credentials are an educational background at the level of academia. Most college profs can tell a joke or two or three or even more than that, to make their students believe they are cool. So yeah---he has been recruited to do just that. Travel around, making funny jokes to put people at ease. Remember the Yakov Smirnov guy of the post-cold-war Branson comic of the 90's? He's passe', now. Anyway, what happens is, people are dismissive of my ideas, because they start splitting hairs and critiquing my grammar & spelling,or claiming my reasoning is only circumstantial evidence, which "proves" how dumb I am. So, anyway-- Years before the Brinttney Griner incident, which acheived its' intended effect, when it aroused responses along the redneck/libtard divide, the USA arrested a female Russian national who was in the USA as an industry rep for the sporting ammo industry, based in a remote part of Russia. Walmart used to do a brisk bizness in Russian ammo; now not at all. But yeah---She was arrested by the FBI(aha!)held and prosecuted for several years for being an unregistered agent or whatever, until she was deported back to Russia. But yeah--it's all about the tactics of diplomacy, formal or informal, good and bad. See? See? You don't? Okay. Thankk mee, anyway.

Okay----I MUST HAVE FOO FIGHTERS TICKICKS!!!! Ha. Not really just kidding. But yeah---all across the country, Foo Fighters concert tickicks are getting very scarce. All the cheap seats are gone, and there's only limited number of the high-priced seats left. But yeah---ANY tickick to see the Foo Fighters is too high-priced, because they don't make music, just noise for fools. Yup. So anyway--concert mania is a real disease , and too bad Jordan Peterson doesn't address the subject. But see---he's going on tour too. Ha. How do you like that?

Okay---I've purchase inexpensive shelving at auction, that was expensive when new. It's clean & in good shape, due to it being govvvement surplus. But, I had an old wooden shelf I got over 40 years ago, that is pretty handy for keeping stuff I can use up & out of the way. But what happened was, a roof leak developed and damaged one side of it. See? But yeah--I spent parts of 3 days rehabbing the old wooden shelf, using lumber that I salvaged/had left over from other projects. I bought a bottle o' wood glue and drywall screws and a quart of mis-mix paint at the big box, to fix it up. So now, it's serviceable. That shelf was ??? old when I got it in 1980. I was told it was from an auction in Cherokee, Iwah. I guess. Most people woulda just tossed that shelf in the dumpster or on the burn pile. But, I've had it so long. Yup. It's part of my backyard cottage furnishings. Hope that helps you some. Thankk Mee.

Okay----The Bike People here tend to be consumeristic and progressive, which really means: new stuff and change-for-changes-sake. See? But yeah---Even though it makes mee kind of an outlier and atypical, I can benefit. See---every now and then on 417 People used bikes & parts(which doesn't get a lot of traffic), I find some used components I can use to truly upgrade and maintain my old 1980's bikes. See? Last summer, it was a set of barely-used pedals for a deep discount, from a lady at the college. The other day, it was a wheelset from a 30-ish guy who had to dispose of them. He's had them advertised for several months, and finally lowered the price. But yeah---$65 was pretty cheap, considering the benefit. So anyway---I went to the nearby big-box parking lot to get 'em. What I'll use 'em for is a Trek 1200, year model 1989, that I've had for about 6 or 9 years. Paid too much for it, in the fist place, but it's my size and a classic. Thing is---with people here in biking---they are consumeristic and progressive; i.e newer is not only better, but essential. See? But, it's all in their heads. So anyway---I know you kids might react: How many bikes you got, already, Bobby? Do you really NEED more bikes? Well, it depends on what you mean by Need. Anyway---the price for those excellent-but-out-of-fashion weelz COULD have covered the cost of a yummy rest-o-rant meal or even a cheap tickick to see some elderly rock band on tour or something like that. But hey---those weels are hardware, that if I'm careful, will be serviceable for quite awhile. L:ike: don't hit any rocks or curbs. Yup. See photo.5361

Well you probably need bikes like I need pottery. I think one could make the case in both instances that we are occupying/entertaining ourselves and building skills, so it's not quite the same as just acquiring crap and piling it up in the closet/cellar/shed for someone to weed through after we die.TYVM,RR. Okay----Is there a special process you can use to make pottery items microwave safe? Anyway--the project I just described is for a road bike; a trainer for the weekly ride. But guess what? The Cool People decided we don't NEED no northside-based ride; why haul our bikes waaaay up there, to ride? Well, I can ride to the starting point from my hillbilly shack; it's only 9 miles, do the course and be back before dark. BCMonster nice, new vehicles, with those super-high-priced bike carriers on the back, that are sold by a local company. I just put mine in the back of my hatch back, the one I hauled three file cabinets in a couple weeks ago. There is a certain format for a certain type of people, that I silently refer to as "Hoe-Heads"So anyway, what a hoe-head does, is think of themselves as very practical and pragmetic and down-to-earth. But in reality---they place following the form, before function. See? They are monkey-see, monkey do. That being said, you don't have to take it upon yourself to try and change them, because you will only alienate them. But yeah--you can benefit by making choices that aren't based upon THEIR decision-making process. It's pretty much the same with about everything. Lawn care, as well. I mean---there's an optimum amount of Yard Work!! that should be done to control vegetation. After that--it's just virtue signaling, and a waste of your resources. So anyway---two years ago--no three---I had a bike project that I spent prolly 3-4 months on(not continuously), using a bike that had sat out back for 15 years. It was intended specifically for trail-riding. Yup. I gathered parts(new and used), painted the frame, put it all together, and took it for a test ride on my road loop. GGuess what? That was the last time I rode it. It's just sitting there, waiting for me to try again. I've been on the RR to bike trails, using my old road bikes. Yup. But, it is hard on them and on mee. Gonna hafta figure out the issues with my failed trail bike project. See? Hope that helps you kids.

Okay---The latest ho-head movement is focused on having one a these bicycle transport "Racks" on the back o' your monster vehicle, so you can haul your plastic bike to some other locale that has dirt roads. But yeah---that way, you can get in the way of non-biking localbillys as they DRIVE ta town fer supplies on THEIR roads or trails! But see---you're a "Beta" if you just have a used bike "Rack" from that same company, steada a $1300 unit! See? That company also has a video ad online showing a late-middle aged geezer like mee out in his subdivision loading his bike on his "Rack" and waving cordially at the fit 40-something gal neighbor as she drives by. So anyway---the high-end rack in the product line is so-named a "Piston", if you get the drift. Just betcha our local, spendy Ukrainia Emigre' has several of them, already. Ha. That's Marketing, for ya. Sfd is chock-full O' hoe-heads--mainly on the south side. My cheap little Accent(rhymes with "accident") with the Alice-in-wonderland "the hurrier I go....." quote on the back window just infuriates them. It's considered a Beta Car, fer sure. But yeah---the way I can relate to that factoid is the the former Defeo Family home on Long Island, NY(Amityville, NY) is a Dutch Colonial-style hom. So anyway---at some point, subsequent ownners of the former Defeo home made a change to the two windows on the third floor, that were originally sort-of trtiangular. Now, they are square-shaped.
