Learning to save money has been a great lesson for me, mom taught me this when I was 11 and it has paid off. First it was my allowance money put in a safe under my bed, this is where it went after I got it. She was proud of me on that and witnessed me do this. I learned money does not grow on trees, it is earned and most kids today don't realize this now. First time I got my first job at age 16,set up a bank account taking out some for spending and leaving the rest in there. Later in my life, put some away for an emergency fund in my gun safe just in case something happens. Have had to use it since I was laid off last month watching how much I spend although I do get unemployment that ends end of this month. Been doing car repairs on the side in my garage to make ends meet too. My wife does work, a hair stylist and she understands. Sees I have been trying very hard not giving up not sitting around doing nothing.
