okay----i was sitting & watching a video that dicussed the Amber Hilberling case, and there were interviews with her. so, then i read several news articles about her, and also an entry on findagrave. it was very, very tragic. so VERY tragic. You might do some research on your own; i'd rather not discuss the case any further. hope that helps you some.
A little late to the party, but a friend came over with a CD of "Oppenheimer". He'd been on the library wait list and was originally number 75. I had to dig my CD player out of the closet and remember how to hook it up. I can't think of any other movies I've seen in the last year that were better. It deserved it's awards
If you are up for a disturbing documentary, watch “Tell Them That You Love Me.” Oy. It is new on Netflix.
It is about a tenured college professor who sexually assaults a student. But none of the players are of the identity you would assume from my description. Stretches credibility..

okay----i tell you what's disturbing, is ta watch the wing-walker biplane crash at the Dayton, ohio airshow back in 2013. see--wing walker jane(who worked days at a gummint job in D.C.) was sitting on the wing of the biplane going about 110 mph, when it accidentally hit the ground and burst into flames. Jane & her pilot did not survive. but yeah---you can see it on youtube. (see photo)Attachment 5941
This was fascinating, and raises so many questions, on so many levels, about the nature of identity and language. I don't think I agree with anything you are saying about "none of the players are of the identity you would assume" or "makes me hate smug academics even more" but it is so worth watching, and so many layers, I agree with you there!Quote:

That woman is evil, and I don’t use that word lightly. Derrick’s family is wonderful. They love him, they have common sense and smarts and are not naive. His brother is outstanding.
The filmmakers made good effort to present both sides.It’s great Anna got so much camera time to tell her story in her own words. She hung herself yet she probably thinks the film told her story fairly.
