I would go to Maine anytime, just for the hot lobster rolls! (Trivia: The hot lobster roll was actually invented in my home town of Milford, CT--and it's always been my preferred way to serve it vs. cold with mayo).

I had lobster rolls for the first time in Boston a few years ago. Sorry, I thought they were overrated. I suppose the hideously high price of a lobster roll in a Boston hotel sorta influenced my experience.
But I ordered one at another venue, a more simple place, and was still pricey and mediocre.
I love lobster rolls and in fact had one for dinner last night. What I like even better is a really nice salad with lobster meat on top.
The portabella mushroom burgers turned out really well! Tonight I'm planning on homemade ham and swiss stromboli.
love portabella mushroom burgers. A good thing to make when dh gets back, if I can find some good tomatoes. Still none in my yard.
I've cooked them a variety of ways in the past and, regardless of the method, they have turned out pretty good. I had them in the fridge all day marinating in a little bit of olive oil, balsamic vinegar and garlic powder. I then just put them on a pan into a 425 degree oven. They were pretty big, so it was about 10-15 minutes each side. (basically check to see when they start getting soft. You can choose your own degree of firmness) With about 5 minutes to go, I put a slice of swiss cheese on each one.
Edited to add: I've also pan-fried them (my least favorite method - too messy. LOL) and grilled them (my favorite method - LOL).
Jewish pizzas here tonight... bread pizza on plain bagels. It's what I had.
Made something new last night. Garlic parmesan cheeseburger bombs. So filling that two was almost too much.
Talking crockpot in the other thread and think I'll find something to put in it - quick and easy.
Making banana nut pancakes for lunch. DH loves pancakes. Me, not so much. I usually tell him to order when out. I don’t really like them or making them. Once in a blue moon ….
I've never been a fan of pancakes either, although I do like waffles once in awhile. DH sometimes makes pancakes that I really love though. He uses a flour that is a corn/wheat mix, I believe the brand is Martha White, and he adds blueberries. They are very light and crispy, and not heavy and doughy like most pancakes.
Have an egg-less pancake recipe that we would always use for camping. Used cornmeal and flour, and always added something (chocolate chips, blueberries, etc.). Tasted good and filled the kids up.
Got some boneless, skinless chicken thighs, corn on the cob and cauliflower at the store yesterday. May cook all that up for tonight.
Think I'll throw the bean stew/soup into the cp. There's a slight chill in the air that will make it perfect!
Eggplant zucchini casserole and salad. Most of it from the garden since I can't grow capers and olives.
Klunick, we love cheeseburger bombs!
Made sweet potato, red bell pepper, black bean soup along with Waldorf salad.
Not frugal: I ordered several pounds worth of ostrich meat from an ostrich farm in Illinois. DH mentions now and then missing his hamburgers. everything I’ve read likens ostrich meat to hamburger. His birthday is coming up, so I’ll surprise him with either a hamburger or an ostrich steak.
Labor Day picnic today. Just the four of us so not going too overboard with the food.
Hamburgers
Baked beans
Potato salad
Deviled eggs
Chips
Made little salmon pattys, brown rice, a green salad and "nice cream" a non-dairy dessert made from frozen bananas, cocoa, almond milk, vanilla all mixed up in blender. Our new fav dessert when the chocolate urge hits. Also good with fresh blueberries, strawberries, or peaches.
Since we have our main meal at lunchtime, I made muesli and we are having it with yogurt in the evening. It is enough.
So far the plan is to make mushroom patties, with roasted cauliflower and broccoli.
Iris! Please update us on the ostrich meat afterwards!
Made chicken taco soup… was very good!
Baked red lentil falafels. It's an experiment.
Chicken Tikka Masala...
Tried a recipe for beef barley stew…. the house smelled wonderful and it was delicious!
Fish night. Baked swordfish and sautéed beet greens. Still getting a few culinary items from the garden, which has been nice.
Cincinnati Chili, specifically a Skyline 5 way and two cheese coney's with mustard and onion. (Those of you outside the Cincinnati area have no idea what you're missing.)

Looks great. My birthplace is the home of the "slopper" which could challenge such light fare east of the Mississippi. The green chilis are grown near-by. Last time I had a slopper at Gray's Tavern the special was a side of fries smoothered in green chili. They have frosted schooners of Coors beer. Not some thing I'd want to do with any regularity, but a treat.

Alan that looks wonderful!
okay---i cancelled the preservations i made months in advance at a VERY fine Restaurant, where it is not just a meal but an experience. It is VERY upscale. But yeah---i went ta the Dollar store where they were having a sale on crackers, and also bought a can of beans. Anyway, that's whats fer dinner. The catts and doggs will be having yummy dogg and catt food. Hope that helps you some.
I made this tonight. It is excellent. Our resident veggies/vegans will enjoy it. Gift recipe.

The chickpea and spinach stew as leftovers for dinner tonight. I nuked it in a bowl on top of couscous. I made one box of couscous to have easy dinners for the rest of the week with the stew. I added a good splash of lemon juice (from a bottle) after it was nuked. Very good!
Fig feta chicken thighs. sauce of fig preserves, soy sauce and vinegar, sput feta cheese under the chicken skin, salt, pepper and garlic powder on the skin bake at 350 for 30-45 minutes . My husband's favorite so I made it for his birthday last night.
