okay---this ain't about crime, exactly, but OTOH, it may be. Anyway, i was sittin' on the porch, watching the birds & the Carjocksons carjocking in-and-out. But yeah--I noticed a group of large birds sitting waaay up in a tree, across the street. Then, they took off, and were soaring around in circles. I figured--them can't be Hawks; they are loners. So, anyway---I went in and checked the site for IDing Zurra birds, and evidently what those birds are is Vultures of one kind or another. Prolly looking for road kill or some other dead animal. Yup. So, there's that. Hope that helps you some.

it is not a town I like. Bobby, I got the urge to have BEEF STEAK in your town (hmmm, wonder why that popped into my head) but it was Friday night and everything was ridiculously crowded because your compatriots love their steak,plus, the Outback Steakhouse near us was closed.
So no, we did not dine on ahhhhhsum and and ah-mazing beef steak.
okay---too bad, Faux. yesterday I saw a repurposed real estate yard sign up at the intersection, where a few years ago, a guy ran his corvette into the limestone road cut at high speed early one morning. He & his passenger were ejected upon impact. An-y way---the sign said: hogs for sale--whole or half & a ph no. Yum. Ahhh-summmm. A-may-zeen. Yup. The house that the greedy inbred flipper wanted 295 for went for I believe 260. Hopefully, he and a Priest and the buyer went through and blessed the place where the guy committed suicide, and a couple years later his wife succumbed to a hard attackt after calling 911. but they arrived too late. PLUS, Lonnie Mow, who fixed it all up 35 years ago and sold it because it wasn't nice enough for a guy who got married at 18 to his wife of 50+ years, and drove a delivery truck for over 45 years with the slogan on the side: "It Pays to keep clean". Anyway, lonnie passed away last summer, too. So theres that. Plus, it's located next to the site of the house that burned after a guy woke up one morning and strangled his wife and got life w/no parole, and across the street from the house that would've been a great fixer-upper, that was being occupied by a squatter who was a cross-dresser(I'll see if I can find his name on facebook so you can see how weird he was)but yeah---he was camping out in the basement, and he accidendentally set the place on fire which killed him. Soooo, it had to be torn down. So, yeah--it's stigmatized, too. Another place on the block has this style of remodeliong(see photo). but yeah---that house was built in 1942, and when the hwy was built and they had to sell part of their lot, they remodeled it hill-people style. Just built the new addition over the existing roof! Well, they borrowed money for the job, and not long after it was done, he dropped dead out front, and his widow sold the house but guess what? the lady that was murdered further down the block was his grand daughter. Her brother still owns the vacant lot next to it, because he inherited it from her, I guess. See? Just Cap 'er right over old work.Attachment 6393

But yeah---thought i'd show you kids a wreck that happened on 44 over in okelhoma, not far from here the other day. Juan or Jose or whoever(see photo) crashed his car into a semi, and wrecked, but managed to flee the scene of the fiery wreck. okay----lord o' mercy---traffic is murder, here! Cauze, yeah---the other day, a guy was running from a traffic stop, and hit an off-duty cop and his old lady head-on, killing them. The suspect has a prior conviction for manslaughter, and also had drugs in his vehicle. in other news, we have this fine, upstanding membah o' da community. 9 counts of bothering little girls.(see photo).Attachment 6421
okay----as you kids know by now, traffic is VERY(xxx4444) hazardous here, aqnd of course----Zurra trees are a definite menace to society. But yeah----a young girl, age 20, was driving along in her Honda last weekend, when a wqind gust blew a giant Zurra tree right onto the Hondoo, killing the young girl. Shows how DANGEROUS this environment is. Now you know why the cost of living is somewhat lower than places like Sandy Eggo or Bahstun. Yep.
okay----in order ta make it easier to pass through SFD and get away from it, the powers that be decided to widen the highway(interstate 44). Well---the first step was to demolish the 65 year old bridge viaduct over 44 a coupla block from my house. it says 2100+ vehicles a day use it. A lot for a back road. Plus, I use it ta bike and get over 44. it's pretty essential for local traffic. But see---until the demolition is completed--i-44 is closed, and the traffic routedthrough down. I went down that way a coupla times, and yeah----it's pretty congested. 18-wheelers, backed up. Several wrecks. Yup. So, if they reopen 44, we'll have no bridge over 44 until this fall. Or so they say. Hafta take the long way around. Thats progress. Yup.

okay----this is not about all the crime and criminals we have here. What it's about is the two Big Lots stores we useta have. Well, they closed, but no "For Lease/Sale" signs appeared on the buildings. Well, i was on the south central part of the city, and now I see that that BL store is preparing to reopen at some point, rebranded as:(I forget what). Edited to add: the new company is called "Ollies", a chain that has a big lot of stores. So yeah---maybe the northside will have a reopening going on, there too. Edited to add: Today, I saw that the former Big Lots on the Northside will be occupied by Tractor Supply Company, which is a chain of farm supply stores. Well, good. That's something we can use. Yup. Big lots kind of let me down when they stopped handling hardware, tools and electronics, and focused on housewares and furniture. But, I have summa that stuff from BL, too. It was an alternative to WalMart, as well. Tonight, as soon as it cools downa bit, I'm gonna diassemble and move my shop crane up front to the driveway, piece by piece. I got that thing ca. 1996, at Big Lots. Yup. And lots of stuff I still use.
