okay----this historic building was SAVED a coupla years ago, by popular demand.(see photo
) But yeah---bureaucrats felt it was necessesssary to raze the structure. You know how they are. but--its still there, like it has since about 1890, when the RR station was nearby. it was a hotel for many, many years. nowadays, it's only open around halloween. Yup. But see "they" tore the RR station down prolly 45 years ago, and the spots been vacant ever since. But yeah---i thought you kids might like this so-called "eyesore".

So yeah---I'll hafta get another one. prolly about 25 years ago, i look up the ol' hotel in some really old Polks' City Directories, and it was listed as such-and-such hotel(various names). okay---i been busy workin' on my many projects and caring for my sufficient number of petts, lately, and so i unintentionally let a significant number of arrests for outrageous crimes go by without posting. So anyway---here's one from the other day. A Drunken Driver Mom, Derelict in Her Duties. Yup. (see photo) Maybe instead of fines, they need to be CANED, like in Singapore. Yup.
okay----another gal in, for her 4th DWI. Hit a parked car, took off. She had her kids in the car. (see photo)

okay----this is not about all the crime and criminals we have here. What it's about is the two Big Lots stores we useta have. Well, they closed, but no "For Lease/Sale" signs appeared on the buildings. Well, i was on the south central part of the city, and now I see that that BL store is preparing to reopen at some point, rebranded asI forget what). Edited to add: the new company is called "Ollies", a chain that has a big lot of stores. So yeah---maybe the northside will have a reopening going on, there too. Edited to add: Today, I saw that the former Big Lots on the Northside will be occupied by Tractor Supply Company, which is a chain of farm supply stores. Well, good. That's something we can use. Yup. Big lots kind of let me down when they stopped handling hardware, tools and electronics, and focused on housewares and furniture. But, I have summa that stuff from BL, too. It was an alternative to WalMart, as well. Tonight, as soon as it cools downa bit, I'm gonna diassemble and move my shop crane up front to the driveway, piece by piece. I got that thing ca. 1996, at Big Lots. Yup. And lots of stuff I still use.
