It would be of interest some day to see a list of Trump's circle who have been convicted of crimes and/or are under investigation. Including those who've been pardoned. It sounds like they may at least take Bannon out of circulation, but he probably has expensive lawyers, too. Giuliani seems to teeter on the edge of the law.

We have a county official, Tina Peters, who is a "stop the steal" Republican and is currently charged with election tampering. She received the distinction of being featured in a New Yorker article.

I don’t like recognizing this physician/rioter either, But aren’t we glad she was convicted and served time? Can’t we be happy about that?

Is there anything we can be happy about?

I think the recognition may have a lot to do with her stance on anti-VAX anti-mask sort of alternative to CDC dictums as much as anything, but that’s just my speculation.

But the big picture is: sure, prosecute the Jan 6 rioters to the full extent of the law. Which is hapoening.

Well finally, a Republican who lays out the important issue of our time—trees—and their menace.

In my gardening reading I came across this snippet about Republican Senate candidate in Georgia, Hershall Walker, who had this to say about trees:

“They continue to try to fool you that they are helping you out. But they’re not. Because a lot of money, it’s going to trees. Don’t we have enough trees around here?”
Walker is, of course, attacking the recently passed and signed Inflation Reduction Act, which, despite its name, is the nation’s biggest, most comprehensive effort to combat global warming. …”

This man gets it, Trees are The Enemy.

Herschel's stories are unquestionably entertaining, but I can't believe someone so obviously either limited or impaired was encouraged to run.

By comprehensive purge I assume you mean going all the way up the chain of people involved in attempting to overthrow the government up to the traitor in chief, and not skipping the senatorial traitors, You are correct. It’s odd that democrats are now being derided by republicans because we are in favor of the rule of law.

Yeah, and IL thinks "But the big picture is: sure, prosecute the Jan 6 rioters to the full extent of the law. Which is hapoening." Not!!! They are basically getting a slap on the wrist and, in some cases, given flags for their traitor ways.

She served 60 days in prison and is on probation after that.

That isn’t “a slap on the wrists” in my book. Taking someone’s liberty away for
2 months is a big deal.
