I wonder what the GOP conservative analogy to The View would be? A Trump cabinet meeting?

Rogar, I love your sense of humor! I'll admit that I've never really watched The View other than catching a couple of snippets in medical waiting rooms, so I mostly know of the show from hearing about it from others.

To be honest, I've never seen more than a few minutes of The View myself, mostly while browsing through channels. I've tried to imagine it's devoted viewing audience and it doesn't paint a pretty picture.

maybe no one really watches The View,, the only people who have it showing on their TV from beginning to end are the same people who have the TV on all day every day and aren’t really paying attention to what is showing on the tube.

The View serves an important function in being the butt of many jokes. Note how often Whoopi Goldberg is highlighted in chatter “news*”
to keep her face and her colleagues’ faces in front of us. Whoopi does dumb stuff to get attention.

    * “chatter news” is my term for superficial dumb stuff people are talking about on the socials.

Same here. We only see the nut-picking clips of one of them saying something especially stupid or outrageous. For all I know, it’s 90% celebrity fluff pieces and cooking segments.

I have never seen The View, and could not tell you who is on it, or when/where it airs.

Then again, I haven’t had broadcast or cable TV in decades.

there’s a funny little Hollywood story going on right now with George Clooney and Bill Maher. Reportedly, Clooney wants to come onto the Maher show and tell his side of the story about how Barack Obama used him as a tool in taking down president Biden. Supposedly Maher responded something like “my show is not a tool for fallen Hollywood icons to rehabilitate themselves.”

apparently, Clooney’s team made more than one attempt that negotiating specifics to sit with Maher on camera. No dice.

I think George Clooney belongs on The View with his story, those ladies will salivate all over him.
So this is what you mean by “chatter news”.

Other then the clips on Youtube, I only remember one or two interviews on the view. Tony Randall, close to his death, had a new baby (which I do wonder if it was his at that age), and one where they interviewed Walter Mathau and his quote about Viagra (wish I could find it on Youtube), comparing it to putting a new flagpole in front of a condemned building.

I liked this Associated Press headline

“On pardons, Biden weighs whether to flex presidential powers in broad new ways”

….to counter what may be powers used in broad new ways in the upcoming administration. Way to escalate, Joe.
