Weird I could have sworn I saw something recent. Maybe just a resurrected thread, then.

Did she just continue on in that sad state until her retirement or was she able to snap out of it?

She snapped out of it for the most part, but did occasionally lapse.

Someone mentioned "Jonathon", the fellow from Minnesota. I guess he was really very involved in defining and promoting the whole concept of Simple Living, did some writing on the subject, and as part of his research, traveled around and met certain, selected participants of the forum. Also, spent a lot of time posting and moderating. I believe he not only did that, but owned a nice, older home and maintained it, and held a very good job as IT man at a major hospital, and was pursuing yet another college degree! Wow. I would guess he probably decided to downsize & simplify a bit, and unless he is posting occasionally under an alias, is no longer active with this. Maybe he's on another board. Don't know.

I met Jonathon and his wife once at a Midwest Renewable Energy Fair. They dropped off the radar soon after that, though (no relation to the two events I hope). I also met Dave WisconsinBadger. They moved to be near their kids and grandkids after retiring, so he changed his name but I forget what he changed it to. They stayed at my place on their way through TN many years ago. Nice couple.
Bad spellers of the world, UNTIE!

I wrote a short piece as a reference for the last carnation of the SL site and Jonathon helped with the editing. He was a very sharp guy and a good writer. I remember as a moderator he had somewhat of a heavy hand to keep things on the SL topic. Seems like I've seen a post or two from him lately. but jp3 has given me some good advice.

You can't. If someone closes their account their comments remain. The status associated with those existing comments changes from member to guest, but they won't be able to post anything else unless they reactivate their account.
