It sounds to me like an autistic man with a toy in his hand and his aide would be real threats-good thing they shot them![]()
when the aide asked "why did you shoot me?", the officer said, "I don't know." We have a long road to hoe. Creaker already said this, I'm just speechless on this one. I am glad I don't have a loved one in a group home who doesn't respond to traditional commands
I do - and most of the workers in my son's group home tend to be people of color. The current group of people working his home have been great. I'm just glad things are easier in my area. My son needs lot of walks - and it puts these workers out strolling in the "wrong" (wrong in the sense where I could imagine someone picking up the phone and reporting it) neighborhood (Brookline). But if there's been any issues I've haven't heard.
They probably won't tell you because they are afraid of losing clients. At one point I worked with group homes so know how they operate.
For whatever reason my parents decided I had to be born in the states - if they hadn't sent my mom over when she was 7 months pregnant, I would have been born in Libya to an American citizen and an Italian citizen - and I would have had an endless choice of labels :-)
