We are supposed to get rain today, and possibly even snow later this week! But right now, dawn has broken and I'm sitting quietly with a cup of coffee, listening to a very busy woodpecker outside. So far the day has started quite well.

After a long fight with the sparrows building nests in the bluebird box...the bluebirds are actively nest making this morning at a rapid pace. For several weeks my husband has been out daily-sometimes twice or three times, ripping out sparrow nests to discourage them and keep them clean for the bluebirds. Perhaps success! We had brown thrashers yesterday and a GOLD goldfinch. So, spring is here even though it is 43 degrees.

razz, I know you love theatre, too, so you probably have seen Our Town. It's my favorite play by far. I was in a high school production of it at a seminal time in my life, and I've seen many productions, on-Broadway, off-Broadway, regional theatres--I see it almost every chance I get. Thornton Wilder is an amazing playwright and author.

And this monologue (which my auto-signature is part of) is just so, so moving to me. If I were to be buried, I'd have it engraved as my epitaph. Some people think Our Town is quaint and simplistic, when, in fact, it is so profound.

We had a lovely huge-flake snowfall this morning. I watched it for nearly an hour

I can see how that would be an emotional experience for a teen especially. To act in that play would be amazing. I will have to look for it being produced in one of the numerous theatres around.
