    So well said.

And yet... what do you think about Victor Frankl's famous assertion:

“The last of the human freedoms: to choose one's attitude in any given set of circumstances, to choose one's own way. And there were always choices to make. Every day, every hour, offered the opportunity to make a decision, a decision which determined whether you would or would not submit to those powers which threatened to rob you of your very self, your inner freedom; which determined whether or not you become the plaything to circumstance, renouncing freedom and dignity...”

Isn't that exactly what happens when the government gets accustomed to mandating the desire of the day and opponents are ridiculed?

That’s not what I said. That’s what you said I would say.

There are all kinds of freedoms that are more important than one life. But, There are all kinds of curtailing of freedoms to protect the life and liberty of others that take place.

Freedom is an abstract concept, that is true. It’s difficult to discuss without getting specific. There will always be lives lost due to freedoms. Always. that will never change.

The devil is in the details. I don’t see any point in arguing “details” with people who are going to pre-determine what my position is.

I have thought about getting toothpicks and putting one end against my cheek and the other against the mask to push it out from my face so I can breathe better.
fwiw- Ocean State Job Lot had these frames intended to go between your face and your mask to keep it away from your face. I think they were a couple of bucks. They were hanging by the aisle they have the toothpaste/personal care items. They also have the blue surgical masks which, at least for me, are less sweat producing that cloth masks.

I love Ocean State Job Lot. Worst part of leaving NJ was no longer having that store 1 mile away. Now I'd have to go to Rutland.

After seeing how poorly our rich and blessed country has handled the pandemic and so many other things, it makes me fairly glad to be the age I am and glad that we did not have kids. What a world we are leaving to the next generation.

And there will be someone who says "they" will fix it.

Considering that the last president withdrew the US from the WHO and fired the pandemic specialist at the NSC, not to mention all the protestors and people recommending second amendment solutions to the ‘problem’ of public health administrators and the vilification of Dr Fauci by lots of republicans, it doesn’t seem particularly far fetched.

Sweetana, I don’t have grandchildren and that may not be a bad thing.

No, that's what happens when unfettered capitalism has its way, government goes along, and exploitation of the common man is the means to the end.

    Well, well, well…

The coworker who said he was going to get the jabs now it was FDA approved got back from
FL a few days. He was in tourist FL. His was down there with just girlfriend who is a nurse and was also unvaxxed.

They’ve both tested postive. He was apparently feeling sick on Saturday. He has NOT been back to the office, which is very good. He’s going to be working from home for at least the next 10 days or until he tests negative.
