Thanks, everyone. Trying to find a "doc in a box" or will be heading to the ER (the VA's answer when all else fails).

Do you have a Walgreen’s or CVS nearby? They often have a clinic inside.

Yes, I don't really like those projectors either and will probably put up regular lights like always. Just gets so frustrating having strands go out every year!

I actually got a small strand of led solar lights this year for just around the entrance on the front porch. So far they have worked great! I'm thinking the real test will be taking them out again next year to see if they still work.

Our neighbor used solar lights this year too but I'm not sure they would work for us. I have tried solar lights for our sidewalk and I don't think we get enough direct sunlight for them to work.

First day back at work today. Only other customs dept coworker is off. It’s quiet today so that’s ok. Problem is that about 45 min into the day, our customs software module went down and we couldn’t get back in. Took at least two hours to bring it back up. I had hundreds of emails to go through, shipment documents to print out, etc. Now on lunch.

DH and I have managed to avoid Covid so far, both of us are fully vaccinated and boosted.

But....had a close call at Christmas. Saw sister, BIL and nephews on Christmas Day, got a text 4 days later that one nephew and sister had symptoms and tested positive. BIL tested positive next day. Luckily so far DH and I are fine, other guests that were there on Christmas Day report being fine and sister's in-law family that sister and family saw on Christmas Eve are also OK.

Sister thinks they may have gotten it when they went out to a restaurant on the 26th but who really knows. But in any case, looks like a very narrow miss.

Looking like I’m going to skip a big gathering with my goddaughter’s family this weekend. There’s. Lot of crud going around and I do NOT want to get sick. Can’t afford to be sick.

Found out this morning that a friend died in a cave diving accident in FL. I’m numb. Feel so bad for his family.
