Thanks for the update, IL. It is sad.

We buried my mom's ashes yesterday and - I've said it before - family makes such a difference in times like this. I'm so blessed and grateful for mine.

I feel the same. Given her concerns with modern medicine I am glad that her final days/weeks/months weren't filled with unpleasant and ultimately unsuccessful medical treatments.

Thank you, IL. It is good to hear that it was an acute event. How wonderful that she had been in constant contact with her friend who was able to contact the police as soon as she suspected Jane might need help.

I have surprised myself recently at how often my thoughts will flicker to something Jane has said, usually having to do with medicine and diet, so if her sister and her nephew have no interest in being her memory keeper, we can at least be part of that along with her real-life friends.

I haven't been on the boards much recently and just saw this. Thank you, IL, for making the effort to check on her and letting us know. Goodbye for now, Jane!

Does anyone remember Nan from the old boards? She died of cancer. Anyway—every time I use my crockpot and lift the lid on it while it is cooking, I think of Nan who complained when her husband or sons did the same. Lifting the lid lets out much energy and it takes quite a while to build back up.But I do it anyway! Much to
    nan’s chagrin.

I totally remember her. She applied for a job and decided it was too good to be true. So I decided to apply for a job there and ended up getting the job and it turning into a full time gig for years and still part time and husband works there too.
