okay---TYVM, RR & HS. I don't care what they say---It's nice to have a pett catt or even several. Yup. This one is the girl that was at-large in my yard for at least a month. She was elusive and wary, like a feral. But she finally got thin & hungry enough, that I was able to catch her, though she bit and scratched me and hid in the house under the dresser. But two years later, she's plump and very friendly to mee. Yup. There's a photo on here of her that I posted several years ago. I'll see if I can find it.

Very adorable. HOw does Mouse feel about being named after food? I'm not sure how I'd feel about being named Hamburger, or Eggplant Parmesan. Taco might be ok though...

Mouse, the cat is the color of a mouse, the rodent. I assume that’s how she got her name

okay----she is kind of rodent-like; really more similar to a squirrel. But yeah---she's a nice kitty, after two years of being a pett. Trick is, ya havta be exSTREMELY patient with catts, and they do catch on. Right now, I'm working on training them not to sit on my clean dishes and canned goods in the kitchen cupboard. Maybe get a stronger latch, on the door. Yup.

okay----a thought occurred to me about how Mousy(who is like a squirrel) happened to be in my yard, two years ago. She is very friendly to me, now, but when she was at large in the yard, she was VERY afraid and even though I'd hear her mee-yowing help, help, help me, she would evade mee, and when she finally did approach to get fed, when I grabbed her to catch her and bring her in, she fought like a tiger--scratching and biting in earnest, and after I brought her inside, she hid and would only appear when being fed and it took several tries to pick her up, because she would panic & fight back, quite successfully. So you know what? I would guess that at one point early on, that she was a kitten tossed out in someone's yard, and got picked up by a predatory bird(hawk/owl/whatever), and she resisted like she did, and the bird dropped her from the air and maybe she fell into a tree which broke her fall, and she landed in my yard. The thought occurred to me the other day, while I was watching two hawks circling over a pasture/yard nearby. I just bet that'ss what happened. The guy at the machine shop told me that birds picked up feral kittens at his place in the country, and he'd seen it. <<<Wow. Ow. Yup.

Sometimes I wish I let the cats go to Kelly Clarkson as that was where they were going if I didn't adopt them. I may have to move back to my old house, as we've been trying to get the house done and now he's in the hospital having EOL discussions. I may end up with it through probate. Just be less to worry about then having other lives depend on you.

I do need to get some photo's of them.

okay----photo of actual catt, who has been living here for 5 years. She was just a tiny abandoned baby, but took to living in the pack like a duck to water. Her name is Taylor AKA Kitten. She has won many awards. She will suddenly disappear when it's time for flea junk. Yup. Dude, hope that helps you some. Okay---dudes, I accidentally posted this photo of an old 60's jacked-up chevy, from the 70's But yeah---they are the wite boyz equivalent of the donk. I scorn them all. 2024-11-22 (1).jpg

It is official now - we have a cat because this cat chose us. Six weeks ago I gave what I thought was a stray feral cat some people tuna and now she's wormed her way into our hearts and home. It's a long story but she was actually our neighbor up our little road's cat because it was her brother's but the brother had to go away and left her two feral-ish cats in his wake but she couldn't let them inside because she already had a cat so her friend staying in his camper on her land started domesticating them but the one tiger kitty started appearing in our yard and little by little she started warming up to us because we gave her food consistantly and we began letting her into our house and she'd find places to nap and then she spent the night on the bed because it was so cold out and then I bought her toy mice to play with and we started talking to her and she'd hang out in the window sill by K's desk as he was working and the other day I finally bought a litter box because she's been spending every night inside our house and POOF! She is officially our cat as of yesterday when I ran into said neighbor at the Thanksgiving Dinner hosted by our local volunteer fire department and we decided that the cat chose us and the neighbor is grateful that she doesn't have to deal with an outdoor formally feral kitty anymore.

Proof positive that the Cat Distribution System works as intended. We never would have sat down and decided to go get a cat; cats decide these things for us...
