I view that as a hopeful sign.

DH and I spent inaugural day hiking a trail through the maritime forest. It was just what we needed. Make American gentle again.

I'm happy about the EO forcing fed employees to go back to the office. Before covid, I could get civilian CBP employees on the phone. Since covid, they're all working at home and it takes many emails to get even an email response much of the time.

So here’s what’s happening with the tariffs. This is from a NYT article - he’s going to issue an EO instructing relevant agencies to look at free trade agreements, trade deficits with certain countries, etc. I assume increases will happen later.

News media are reporting that Trump will sign (did actually sign?) executive order declaring
two “sexes “or “genders” depending on the news source will be declared the standard in our country. The problem is the news media is using terms imprecisely, they are interchanging them with CNN saying “genders “and Reuters saying “sexes.”

These two terms are not interchangeable.

Precise terms matter because legalities. Supreme Court Justices Brett Kavanaugh and Neil Gorsach had conflict about what the term “ sex” really means in “ sex discrimination” of the 1964 Civil Rights Act during deliberation of the 2021 Bostock vs. Clayton County case.

tldr; I want to find the exact wording of this executive order and cannot find it Even on the whitehouse.gov website. I suppose it will be available soon.

I just learned that the AP is a non-profit organization and just donated there. Perhaps some of you might consider doing the same.
