My therapist told me the way to achieve true inner peace is to finish what I start. So far today, I have finished two bags of M&Ms and a chocolate cake. I feel better already!
The pottery sale yesterday was not nearly as lucrative as the one we attended the prior week. We did make our table fee, spent some money ourselves, and emptied about one box of pottery. There wasn't much traffic in general, and I suspect some vendors didn't even make their table fees. We met some nice people though, and we had a few buyers who were extremely appreciative about our super-low prices. I know how snobby this sounds, but the woman selling candles in cut-off Tito vodka bottles was doing a hell of a business, so I really think this venue wasn't the best fit for us. Oh, and there was Christmas music! DH said we netted about $6. per hour each to sit and listen to Xmas music, haha. However, one less box is one less box.
this made me laugh. tito's is "high end" in our neck of the woodsthe woman selling candles in cut-off Tito vodka bottles was doing a hell of a business
*snicker* I'd imagine some labels have more cachet than others. And they sell Tito's at Kroger's. Just sayin'. But then, I'm commenting as a person who, in her wilder days, melted crayons over chianti bottles and thought pouring alcohol into glasses was a waste of clean glassware. (after all, alcohol is a sanitizer, right?!?) And that Strawberry Hill was higher end than MD 20/20, lol. But I don't want candles in those bottles either - my tastes have refined somewhat. FWIW, my candles are all free-standing or in jars. We have candle cloches that are really useful in a drafty house. I've not yet fallen for the lure of cut off vodka bottles
Sorry your sales were off - but yes, a box down is a really good thing. Our antique sales are in the dumps, we've just been scraping a bit over rent. So, it will either improve, or we'll stop. Which will be sad, it's a fun thing and something my DD, DSIS and myself enjoy doing together that doesn't have a large cost (well, at least if people BUY stuff!). And until recently, it had covered at least one girls trip a year, usually to your neck of the woods, and our family reunion, which is roving, but seldom west of the Mississippi. And sorry for the meandering post. But not sorry enough to delete it![]()
Boone’s Farm…that’s the stuff I first got drunk on. The apple version.
new topic: my favorite potter, Carol Long, is featured in this month’s issue of Ceramics Monthly.. She lives in Kansas in my nearby state. I have four of her pieces and I’m hankering for another particular one.
