    Bills just keep going up

Not happy to see all our standard expenses going up - not a lot but added together quite a bit. Property taxes, Medicare, utilities, gasoline, trash service, home insurance, groceries - they have all gone up this year. It's more aggravating than anything because our retirement income stays the same.

Add to that an unstable political situation with its effect on the markets and potential lowering of interest rates. Bad time for those living on investment income and 401K withdrawals. Stability is better for everyone.

My hubby's 94 year old mom lives on her SS and a tiny pension. She worries but we will ensure she can keep her quiet lifestyle.

It is getting a bit harder just to maintain. Is going to be interesting to see where things "land" down the road.

The increase in Part B and Part D mean I am actually receiving less in Social Security payments this year.

My SS income went up ~$50/month.

Just my property taxes alone went up $318/month.

My healthcare insurance went up > $1000/month.

My electrical power went up 6%/month, *and* they cut the amount they pay me for my solar power about 20%

    Winning!

Yes, my SS went up but so did the Medicare B costs that get taken directly out of my SS.

I think the issues with government figures or news claims fails us seniors. Basic expenses like health care, insurances, property taxes, and energy are up higher than the consumables like electronics and household things younger people and families with kids buy.
