And only because someone called him. Which is unusual. It did work out in our favor but there were 2 days of chaos in the mean time. Meeting deadlines for college stuff by the skin of his teeth. Forgot to have ACT send his latest scores to his colleges of choice. Costing us extra money to have it done. AAARRRGGGGHHHH
Oh, I remember that year. Ugh. Here's a glance from down the road: DD, who I thought would end up pregnant at 18 when she dropped out of high school & shacked up with her abusive, alcoholic then BF will graduated from college in May. In a major that has a strong chance she'll get work (tech theatre). Let me repeat this: She's graduating in May!

So, have faith, m'dear. Most of our teens eventually grow up. Their frontal cortex does fully develop (at about age 25), they do get to have a life & we get to celebrate their eventual independence. And remember, these are his mistakes from which he gets to learn about it all... Hugs!

DW went to Family Dollar store this morning, made purchases of around $30 with the debit card, and asked for $10 cash back. For this $10 cash dispensation, Family Dollar charged a fee of $1.00

DW said "It will never happen again." The fee is imposed by the retailer, not the bank. (Nuisance fees of this nature are a subliminal message: "We at Family Dollar don't want your business". I get it.)

How do I word my rant for the day? Essentially, I have taken on a small volunteer position with an organization. Several people have phoned to give me 'suggestions' (which I did not ask for) on how to do the job better (the job that they themselves did not volunteer for) with an overwhelming attitude of "I could do this so much better". Sheesh.

Spent a full hour on the phone this morning, trying for the third time since November to get an AT&T U-Verse bill straightened out...was directed to four different departments...have been told all sorts of different things in my odyssey of getting faster and better internet service. I thought technology was supposed to make my life easier. It pretty much wastes my time instead...

However, that also happened when I worked for a large department store chain.
I doubt it has anything to do with you. There are simply lots of irritating, dysfunctional people in the workplace, and in the world in general for that matter. It's best to figure out ways to tune them out rather than blame yourself for the situation.

Dollar Tree does the same thing, but they have signs up warning customers that they'll be charged a dollar for cash back. It's not nearly as bad as some of the banks. When I was working in Indianapolis I was shocked when I walked up to a Chase ATM only to find that they charged $3.50 for a cash withdrawal from another bank. Forget it.

My friend's cat peed on my coat. Soaked it. My best, warmest coat. On the coldest day of the winter so far. Ish.

Why can't woman's clothing designers recalculate the intervals in which they place the buttons on woman's button-down shirts so as to prevent severe gap-itis? It is pretty awkward to attach a safety pin on the inside of a shirt near your boobs so that the pin doesn't show from the outside. Grrrr....

Kelli - were you able to get your coat cleaned? We use to stay at a friends house and they had one cat that didn't like me. He'd always find a way to sneak into our room (well, it was always his room unless we were visiting) and he'd pull out some item of my clothing and do his thing. I think I usually gave up and tossed the item.
