Okay----The Bike People here tend to be consumeristic and progressive, which really means: new stuff and change-for-changes-sake. See? But yeah---Even though it makes mee kind of an outlier and atypical, I can benefit. See---every now and then on 417 People used bikes & parts(which doesn't get a lot of traffic), I find some used components I can use to truly upgrade and maintain my old 1980's bikes. See? Last summer, it was a set of barely-used pedals for a deep discount, from a lady at the college. The other day, it was a wheelset from a 30-ish guy who had to dispose of them. He's had them advertised for several months, and finally lowered the price. But yeah---$65 was pretty cheap, considering the benefit. So anyway---I went to the nearby big-box parking lot to get 'em. What I'll use 'em for is a Trek 1200, year model 1989, that I've had for about 6 or 9 years. Paid too much for it, in the fist place, but it's my size and a classic. Thing is---with people here in biking---they are consumeristic and progressive; i.e newer is not only better, but essential. See? But, it's all in their heads. So anyway---I know you kids might react: How many bikes you got, already, Bobby? Do you really NEED more bikes? Well, it depends on what you mean by Need. Anyway---the price for those excellent-but-out-of-fashion weelz COULD have covered the cost of a yummy rest-o-rant meal or even a cheap tickick to see some elderly rock band on tour or something like that. But hey---those weels are hardware, that if I'm careful, will be serviceable for quite awhile. L:ike: don't hit any rocks or curbs. Yup. See photo.2023-04-20 (3).jpg
