You need to be very careful if any calves are around since a mother moose will even fight a bear if her calf is in danger.

They can crush a car or pickup if hit.
During the three years I was in Alaska during the 70's I must have seen hundreds of moose, mostly just meandering around and stopping traffic as they stepped out onto roadways.
A fellow I worked with saw a calf on the side of the road one day and stopped to admire it, It's mother, who was on the other side of the road, didn't appreciate his attention and charged his truck and turned it over by striking it from the side.
