that’s definitely true in the plant circles I travel in. The only ornamentals younger people seem to like are natives. And that’s fine, let them continue that tradition and prop up the native plantings, but for anyone who really likes flowers, natives become dull after a while. There’s only so much you can do in one climate with natives. If you don’t bring in things from China, plant life becomes very dull very quickly IMHO.
