See Helen Mirren LIVE! (sort of)

The National Theater of London is once again doing a live simulcast of one of their plays. This one, The Audience, stars Helen Mirren once again playing Queen Elizabeth.

There are many movie theaters showing this as it actually happens in London, or you can see it in an encore performance. I saw the play Frankenstein this way and it was just like being in the theater and seeing it live.

You can see if there is a theater showing this in your area. I've got almost an hour's drive; there is one a bit closer but in a not so nice city. Tickets are $26, more expensive than a movie, but much less than an actual theater ticket.

I am going to see it on Thursday evening during the live simulcast so we can compare notes if you are going the same night.

Well, I went to the theater and was told that they weren't equipped to show it (didn't have the right projector or something like that). Man was I MAD!!! Drove an hour, some of it through a monsoon to get there for nothing.

So tell me, how was it? I'm hoping to catch an encore performance somewhere else, but the other two places are far and one in a not so nice area.

It was lovely and witty and the Queen's clothing changes were amazing. Some of the PM's were so well played. Do try and see it if you can.

Our theatre which is 35 minutes away from my home was totally sold out tonight! There is one encore on June 30th at the same theatre and then another on July 3 at another much further away.
