Not sure if this belongs here, but Muffy Aldrich has a really nice blog. It's frugal in an expensive way, sort of. She has a classic preppy wardrobe, all top quality, but makes her clothes last many many years and stockpiles her favorites.

If you live in or love New England, you'll really enjoy her photos and stories. Boating, shopping, village life, it's all there. Did I mention shopping? It seems to be a very simple but luxurious life.

I'm slowly going back to my preppy way of dressing that I had years ago. Heck, I've already got a navy blazer, Barbour jacket, RL/LL Bean sweaters, polos, etc. Just need a good pair of chinos, which even she has trouble finding. And a good pair of loafers and deck shoes (miss my Sebagos from years ago).

Can't see myself wearing pearls or madras shorts though. And don't see anything wrong with a pair of capris or nice jeans.

Thanks, Pony Mom. That looks like a fun browse. Are you familiar with the Gardener's Cottage blog? I think it has similar appeal, although perhaps a little more simplicity oriented.
