    February Declutter or 100 Items

Ruh roh. Nesting may have hit. And I'm not really having the energy (at least today) to engage in it!!

We need to do some shuffling of furniture to prepare the space for the baby. This will be good because it will force me to downsize some of my books and crafting items so they can condense all into the craft room space.

We cleaned up the guest room/future child's room. There was a lot of crap laying around. Some went in the attic until it is needed, some went in the dresser, some in the closet. Nothing went bye bye, but at least I feel somewhat more peaceful about the room. We're leaving the guest room up until the baby is sleeping in the crib, at which time the guest bed will come down. But that won't be for several months yet. I'm finding that I still want to put the baby's room together, even though that's silly and unnecessary and will cause more trouble that it's worth in the long run if my mom or mother-in-law come to spend the night at any point. So it's good to feel better about it.

Would like to take inventory of all the things people have given us to see what's left to get.

Little by little!! It's hard to be patient, I want it all done NOW!!!

Spent 3 hours yesterday going through countless recipes I had clipped from Better Homes and Gardens and Family Circle. I probably recycled at least 75 because by the end it was an inch thick. I also changed the binders that it was in because it was empty in the old big one.

It feels so good to take a hard look at all my possessions in preparation for our move into a small condo. I will have no mercy for our stuff that I don't want to move.

It is to note that I am no longer a subscriber to any magazine as it did took so much time for me to go through it no only to read but to clip any articles I wanted to keep (and thought would be useful one day * rolling my eyes) but that I am currently getting rid of.

In as usual decluttering and using up has become way more natural to me and most areas of
my house are doing really well,
Towels, bedding and linens are just enough
Paper etc. is all sort and under control
    Decoration is way down
Dishes are sorted and mostly stuff I do use
Sewing fabric and supplies are at least under control and I know what I am doing with most of it
    Using some and selling some
Food is an on going issue because Dd and I are such good shoppers with sales/coupons/price matching and
we eat so much less. Also, we are so careful now that we have very little waste. But, we have inventories and
are doing much better with buying only what we eat and eating what we buy.
Clothes are my next big project but, I still need to lose 15 lbs so I now what fits and what doesn't,
the goal is to lose that in Feb and March and deal with all old clothes as I put away winter and take out spring/summer,
THERE I have put it in writing....lol
That really only leaves the garage which still has many issues (it is much better then it was when Dh passed away two years ago
it was his domain) but, still much to do.
Having said all this I am not doing the 5 a day any more but I just look at any area I clean or sort and toss/sell/give away.
    Good luck folks.

I'm in again for this month. It's always amazing how a person can find another 100 items. I still need to tackle the laundry room and 3 closets (laundry room, hall, and under the stairs) also I want to go thru the buffet in the kitchen and the buffet in the living room. DH wants me to clean up my corner of the studio where I fuse glass. It is messy- not sure there is really anything to declutter but I'm sure I'll find something.

I'm feeling particularly detached from my stuff, so now is a good time to get rid of it. We are scheduling a big garbage pick-up in two weeks (you can put out up to 12 big bags and 2 other large items, such as furniture.) A lot of stuff hanging around - torn up dog beds, broken planters, warped plastic lattice - stupid stuff - is good only for the trash, so out it goes.

DH is continuing to sell a lot on Craigslist - he just sold a bunch of boxes and styrofoam peanuts to an Ebay seller.
