    Angry $500 million

I think the $500 million tax dollars being sent to arm the "moderate" Syrian fighters would go a long way toward caring for our veterans injured in Iraq and Afghanistan. BTW, can anyone identify the "moderate" Syrian fighters as opposed to the Assad supporters as opposed to ISIS as opposed to.....

There is quite a bit of what seems like credible discussion that ISIS could pose a threat of terrorism to the west and the US that is more radical than al Qaeda. Their leader has been quoted as saying, "We'll see you in New York". Whether our involvement might further raise their ire or not I suppose is debatable. If you can believe what our media and politicians tell us, they may be a significant new source of terrorism that had been eliminated or died down among other radical extremists. That, I believe is one thing separates them from the other groups.

I get all of that larger world view, but I work with significantly challenged people, veterans, survivors of traumatic (and often disabling) experiences, domestic violence (on the entire spectrum), homeless, AODA, and my immediate response is what that kind of money could do here, at home, to help everyone who struggles with life circumstances that I do not even know about.

I want to be safe to have my own safe life, and I want that for everyone. Here, other places, all of it. But, I cannot imagine how there are enough resources to take care of the rest of the world when so much is desperately needed here at home. If that makes me a selfish person, then so be it.
